  1. Yeah, I don't live in the US but I've never heard it used in a non-derogatory way.
  2. 209844 turned to look at them, used to random people appearing by now. ”Hello, I am 209845, antivirus of the Cloud.” Even though returning to the Cloud now would result in a full factory reset, 209845 still considered itself an agent. “Are you a virus?” Just in case, it readied its zapping tool. It had been a while since it had gotten to zap anything. “We are currently searching for a safe location to rest while the Cloud searches for us. If you are not a virus, I see no reason for you to not join us, but you should know this world is in the late stages of being rebooted.” “Hmm… interesting… I too am a number, but you do not appear to be a member of the Cloud…” Could there be even more factions here that the Cloud didn’t know about? First Lati, then the Sun, and now… yes, there was nothing resembling this “number 17” in any of 209845’s databases.
  3. Okay, that makes a lot of sense
  4. I get why we shouldn’t over clutter the RP… but why 16 magic systems? Not all the shards have to interact amongst each other that much.
  5. Any potential for a 4th Shard *looks hopefully with puppy eyes* Seriously though, @Lopens Tenth Cousin already said the system had five planets, and some of these aren’t even full Shards. Why do we need to limit ourselves?
  6. Personally, I think you should share the magic system, but maybe @bmcclure7 has a different idea.
  7. @Lopens Tenth Cousin are you thinking of changing your vote?
  8. So... that's it for Order?
  9. Okay, here we go First some backstory: Order’s vessel, Vasor, was present at the Shattering and was the first - and only - to ever hold the Shard. Basie’s mental health was already falling apart before the Shattering; ascending to a Shard caused him to snap, and he went completely insane not long after. Eventually, the rest of the Shards saw him as a threat and created his prison, where he still resides. The prison is partly psychological; Order could leave whenever he wants, but he doesn’t think there is anything out there. Now for the magic: Meet sonomancy. Order’s magic system works through manipulation of the Perfect Tones, a collection of sounds, similar to the pure tones of Roshar. A practitioner of sonomancy must play the tones to create an effect; for this reason, sonomancy requires a space where sound can travel. It doesn’t matter how you make the tones, so long as they are pure. The main users of sonomancy are the Acolytes of Order, a shadowy group that sacrifices their self to serve as servants of Order. They share a sort of hive mind, but can still think a little individually, similar to the steel inquisitors. The Acolytes are Vasor’s eyes and fists in the world, regulating most activity from above. When one undergoes the ritual to become an Acolyte, a shadowy substance seems to grow over them until it envelops their skin completely. Through this substance they are able to play multiple tones at a time and create great effects. Anyone could practice sonomancy, so long as they have a connection to Order (can be hemallurgically stolen) and a way to play the tones. I like your idea of balance, although right now, Order is also kind of an evil shard, in that it’s super authoritarian.
  10. Hmm… you’re right… would it help if I created a magic system for Order?
  11. I, too, am curious as to what title I could receive…
  12. Maybe we should each get like two guesses? We could always just try to integrate all the Shards into a combined world.
  13. Hmm… my Shard isn’t a combo, though. Are we trying to adhere to canon here?
  14. I suggest making a poll, since it’s an easy way to organize all our ideas in one place.
  15. Hmm… is the idea to have all the Shards share a world or can we get multiple worlds? If we want them to share one, perhaps Order could inhabit a moon or something. Otherwise, I think a poll with maybe a quick summary of each Shard would be good.
  16. Fix you by Coldplay Kind of a slow song, but the end Fire and the Flood by Vance Joy Straight back down by Dean Lewis
