209845 cocked its what could pass for its head at the woman, confused. The action caused it to glitch again. ”Be-e-e-ecause it’s my fu-u-u-unctio-on.” BZZZZZZ! 209845 jumped, or rather, glitched away from the voice, and buzzed in a distinctly terrified way. The sudden motion sent it into a burst of glitches that took a while to calm down enough to get some words in. ”I-i-i-i-it’s a-a-a virus! Die-e-e-e-e!” The figure zapped the air menacingly, causing the immediate area to suddenly turn monochrome once more before returning to normal.

209845 watched the discussion taking place beneath it without emotion. A spindly, pure embodiment of the void, the Antivirus glitched as it received its instructions. Out there, far beyond the rolling hills, at the heart of the red storm, waited its superiors. From there, they began to take this world apart bit by bit. And they would succeed. 209845 would see to it. Final instructions received, the form lifted itself from the ridge and calmly descended the slope to rest in the middle of the ongoing discussion. ”Hello,” it said, faceless. ”My na-a-ame is-s-s 209845, and I was sent to de-e-e-e-elete you.”

That sounds really hard. I’m glad you were able to climb out of that hole, at least for now, and that therapy helped you better understand your issue. Now, for your current situation: I know what it’s like to feel like you’re doing great and suddenly have an urge come upon you. And yes, it is terrifying. This is the true test of your progress, and you worry you won’t be able to pass it. When that happens, try to think about how your life has changed after you stopped the first time. Think about the negative consequences of taking this step. Think about the things that matter to you, and how this will affect them. And think about how you matter. With an addiction like this, it’s easy to get stuck in a bubble where you convince yourself that just a little more won’t do any harm. You might even convince yourself you deserve it. It’s good that you’re scared. It means you’re no longer trapped in that bubble. @reisleK said progress isn’t always linear. I’ll add on to that; progress isn’t just numbers on a page. It’s also emotion, and mental willpower. This is something you need to cultivate, until you reach the point where you can feel that urge, hold the blade in your hand, and set it down. Until then, there will always be people to hold the blade for you. And if you never reach that point, that’s okay as well. What matters is that you recognize this progress, because you are constantly fighting to make it.

YES! That is exactly how they killed C. C died of dehydration, not poison. Yes… in that it had the same end result; C dead. What changed, though, was WHO actually did the killing. Yes. Yes I would. Because, as I said, it is still B committing the act that leads directly to C’s death. I think you misunderstand my argument; it isn’t the act of pouring that concerns me; it is the person that gets the final blow. Okay, first, fact check, water with poison is still water unless the poison changes its molecular structure, which I don’t think it does. So it is still water. Second: picture the following scenario. X, Y and Z are on a battlefield at the edge of a cliff. X shoots an arrow at Z’s head. But just before the arrow hits, Y pushes Z off a cliff, killing Z from fall damage. Who killed Z? X, or Y? Obviously, X’s arrow missed, so X didn’t kill Z. But with your argument, X DID kill Z, and Y didn’t, even though Y clearly dealt the final blow. I hope this makes you understand the situation better.

Okay, I read your whole debate, and Moash did a LOT wrong. (Vague OB, RoW spoilers, Hawks can look) B did. He may have prolonged C’s life by shielding him from the poison, but in the end it was he who struck the final blow. I don’t see much to debate about it Debate proposal: Could a vessel of Ruin or Odium ever truly be good? Or would they eventually be corrupted? Do the laws of good or evil even apply here, or is our perception of morality simply biased because we are people and don’t want to die?

I’m sorry you feel like that, and I hope you get better. I’ve had some of the same feelings, so I’m going to try and answer some of your questions (although I can’t claim to know all the answers). If you’re right and nothing matters, then we should all just curl up in a hole and die. Destroy our planet. Hurt others, because in the end, who will be left alive to care? Things matter because we care. When you care about someone else, then things that happen to them, that hurt them, matter. And to many people, you matter. You DO have worth. Even when you can’t see it. Consequences DO matter, because people care about them. And they are real. Happiness also matters, but not only because it makes us feel good. It also makes others feel good. And in the end, a simple act of joy can change the lives of many. So yes, your happiness matters. A LOT. Improvement is very subjective; without getting too philosophical, improvement can be measured in two ways; short term improvement (you make yourself, and maybe a couple others, happier temporarily - take, for example, hanging out with your friends) versus long term improvement (you increase your abilities to be happier and make others happier for the long term - like, for example, starting a club *nod to @Clinically insane for starting this one*). Both matter. God does not control your life. I, personally, am Atheist. But whether or not you believe in God, it is important to recognize: NO-ONE alone can assign worth to something. If you care about it, then it matters. Because it matters to you. YES. It definitely matters. A LOT. Think about it this way; you have the potential to improve (using the definitions I used above) countless lives. In fact, you’ve probably improved the lives of a couple people here, at least short term. And that pain, is holding you back. Yes, it hurts. And maybe it would be easier to just disappear and make it go away. But if you did that, all those countless lives would not benefit from your impact. Sometimes, sacrifices have to be made. But never ourselves. Now, as I said before,I don’t know about God, but you should never let anyone’s hate stop you. Because they aren’t the ones who matter here, YOU are. I hope that helps, somehow.
