sorry to awaken a dead topic, I know we have rules against that, but I couldn't help but realize how significant the idea of Hoid having carried nightblood around for the whole way of kings book only to have it show up again in Words of Radiance... Now that I think of it, maybe that was the trade Vasher made to Hoid for helping him get to Roshar. Hoid offers to take Vasher somewhere he wouldn't have to find a breath every week in return for nightblood.

of course. jk. No I just am inferring that based on what I have seen in other sources of fiction as well as my own personal feelings towards the matter. I do not think I would enjoy outliving my loved ones, or having to mentally capacitate the many many years I live. If human nature is to resist change immortality must really bite. Extended life I would take, but immortality I would not

My question is if the shard pools, and the other two physical states of a shard, disappear when the shard is killed. What if you are assuming there is two cultivation shard pools, when one might be the left over body of Honor?

I do not think Vasher will use his breath until Brandon publishes the 2nd book tentatively called Nightblood. After that though, I see no reason as to why Vasher would not use his breath. Immortality can really be a burden

I think we need to end discussion of all the things we know its not or that Peter has not confirmed. So stop with the crem theory, the great shell theory, the storm drain theory, etc. The map is just supposed to be reminiscent of a shape from something relating to math and or galaxies. So I was going through some of the Q and A questions that we've seen from the recent signings and one that caught my eye was about how hoid uses the horneater peaks hot springs to travel and that we have seen a huge hint in elantris on how he travels. The first and obvious andser is the aondor for transportation or the teleportation sacrifice that we saw at the end of the book. Then I thought about aonas shard pool because the horneater peaks spring is similar. What if instead of disintegrating the hoed at aonas shard pool, it instead allows you to world hop? That would mean one could travel via shard pool and that the hoed might have still been alive on another planet Thoughts?

So this theory popped into my head when trying to think of using other magic systems on other planets. I have a whole theory in my head about how breath and stormligjt are similar catalysts to access the investiture in their systems such as consuming storm light instead of breath or possibly using breath to surgebind. Then I thought of the magics on sel and scadrial. I started to theorize that maybe an alantrian could use allomancy or fetich emu by drawing an aon shaped like the allomantic metal Symbols or the feruchemical metal symbols. I think this would be how an élantrian could use investiture on scadrial. I have trouble imagining how allomamcy or feruchemy could be used on other planets, but then I rembered in WoR when hoid slips a powder into his drink. Maybe the metals burning remains the catalys in other systems, but that you would need stormlight along with the metal to use it... I don't know honestly. I just wanted to hear some other theories on how one could hack a magic system from another world. Could be fun coming up with stuff

I don't think burning copper would do it, I don't think he uses light weaving to hide it either. I think that the breaths just work differently on roshar. They may grant him the internal abilities like perfect pitch, aura recognition, etc. but the external abilities wouldn't Shape roshar in a way because stormlight is the main form of investiture. I think if hoid breathed in stormlight he would let off a color aura. Because now the investiture is being used through stormlight. The breath remains the same in hoid though because he is heavily invested with it. Kind of like you need to hack the system in order for it to work. I am sure vasher is consuming his stormlight to keep him alive and I'm sure night blood will end up using stormlight similar to breath. The big difference here though is that a person is inherently invested.

I was just curious if anyone else caught the tibit where Wit/Hoid visits paladin in jail and is tuning his instrument only to mutter under his breath about how perfect pitch makes tuning so much easier now I can only assume that Hoid now has reached a heightening of a certain level, but any guesses as to which heightening he has actually achieved?

probably nothing but has anyone else noticed that there are only two lakes? and that both are at the center of the land spirals? (Yes I know there is the pure lake, but if you notice, the shardsmar map puts mountain things inside the pure lake but leaves the other two alone...

you have a point here, but we have to start somewhere in our theories right? I can't help but shake the feeling that were missing something a bouts the blades and shards in general. We finally know that spren imitate the honorblades and become shard blades. The honor blades grant the power of surge binding and were created by honor for specific use by the heralds. We still do not know the history or origin of shard plate, only that we know szeth couldn't use it, kaladin doesn't hear screaming when he touches it (such as when he used it during the adolin duel as a gauntlet), and that the radiants in dalanars vision were able to use it. But where does it come from and what does it have to do with surge binding? The next point of interest is that dawnshards have yet to really be mentioned... maybe I am being rash in saying this, but I think they are related to the other shard/blades that we have seen so far, but I retain the theory that they are more powerful, and one in particular is different then the rest...
