  1. From what I can gather, Dawnshards are the third type of shard blade that has been hinted at by brandon. Not like an honor blade or a regular (alive or dead) shard blade. That quote is by far the biggest tibet we have. It can bind creatures both voidish or mortal? This just screams powerful to me. They have to be something big if we know so little about them. Shardblades are coveted, honorblades are godly, but a dawnshard? Makes me wonder...
  2. I always thought it looked like the collision of two storm cells.... everstorm from the west and a high storm from the east... but maybe there is more to it than that. I played around with the three main maps (silver kingdoms, shardsmar, and the main WoR map) and something I found is that the shape is the exact same. It struck me odd that it stayed the same in all three maps. I was expecting the new map to be different from the silver kingdoms, any plate tectonics, volcanic creation, or island erosion anywhere? It was just to clean to me. Then there was shards mar which looked interesting because the seas are where the land should be (sea of lost lights, sea of souls, sea of regret). Also, there are several cities that the compass rose rays intersect... could be of note. The last thing that I noticed is that in the shadsmar map, the expanses and nexuses that correspond with roshar oceans, had some interesting names. combined with the seas, that makes a total of nine different named areas of shardsmar. could these be the homes of nine different races or kingdoms of spren. If that is the case, why only nine?
  3. This might be as good a place as any to mention that at the Provo midnight release of Words of Radiance, I had Mr. Sanderson personalize my book in a specific way. I asked if he could tell me something about dawnshards that we don't/won't know or if I get RAFO could he put his favorite quote... I worded it that way because I didn't know if WoR had any info already. But luckily I got this sneaky little morsel of an answer One dawnshard is not like the rest.
  4. Personally I think Adolin is going down the path of the dark side SPOILER ALERT! ....... (you know like when he kills sadeas)...... Anyway, I think after the chasm walk with Kaladin, Shallan is going to fall for him. You already see it happening a little. Nobody just wants to admit it yet. I bet you Adolin is going to loose Shallan because of this dark path and then Kaladin is just going to become all the more appealing

  6. So in alloy of law from the point of view of Wayne he talks about how he prefers to store gold "health" when he can just drink a lot and sleep it off Did not sazed claim that the only attribute a feruchemist could store while sleeping is wakefulness? If I'm missing something please share otherwise how could Wayne store his health while sleeping?
  7. Out of curiosity I was wondering who else was going to the midnight signing in Provo. Would love to chat up some fellow 17th sharders in person. I will be there and wearing my new stormlighr archive T shirt haha
  8. This is the artwork for the trilogy deal on iBooks
  9. not necessarily, Your own identity changes through out your life and and feruchemists can tap that identity stored tribute when they are at the end of their life even if that attribute was from the beginning of their life. The way Identity is soul stamped isn't changing who they are, just their history. History doesn't mean different tapping. I am sure TLR is quite the different person then he was when he was a kid.
  10. Well I'm a sophomore in college and I kinda get what your selling. But I have to wonder if this all powerful black hole would have representation in the cognitive realm producing a Spren like no other has seen before. This results in a new god that destroys all the shards.
  11. But swimmingly is this where the roshar star is turned into the cosmeres biggest cookie??
  12. That is interesting, granted I am being very simple in my theory. I am treating this as a fun experiment. I would like to think it could work but limited to the region (so you couldn't tap the identity on another planet).
  13. The best part is that you do not have to create a perfect soul stamp. Even if the stamp only takes for a minute, you store it, then store another minute, followed by another, and another, so that when you do tap it, you can tap a continuos stamp even if it was not perfect.
  14. So suppose you were to soul stamp yourself to change your identity, but then you used feruchemy to store that sense of identity. You do this repeatedly with a soul stamp and store the identity. Could you use this identity stored to change your abilities at a whim? For example you soul stamp yourself so that you are a warrior, store that, then stamp yourself the next day you stamped yourself to be an expert marksman, then stored that. You did this with many different identities so that during a battle you could just tap the metal mind and change in and out of a different identity with different skills. One moment you are a monk who kicks but with his bare hands, then you pick up a sword, tap a swordsman skill and slice a few opponents, then tap an acrobat personality to leap around the battle field and so on and so forth Speculations?
  15. what if you used regrowth on a gold feruchemist, unlimited health conversion? would normal storm light healing fill a gold mind?
  16. Yes all the monks die and the whole planet teleports next to roshar and then a the elantrians team up with the nights radiants and kill all the void bringers. Side note cris34b can I just say that whole Avatar/cosmere thing is priceless
  17. I think Wax would of noticed metal sticking out of Tan and I am pretty sure Lessie would of noticed the speed bubble go up. Maybe Tan was simply a pewter arm and moved lessie fast
  18. yeah the only thing that changes is that he doesn't crush himself when tapping weight meaning there is a proportional strength boost but doesn't actually make him any stronger
  19. taking an idea from Stealheart you can always checkmate them like the Reckoners did with Fortuity
  20. yes but you would have the storm light enhancing your body so you wouldn't need pewter
  21. My question stems from the theory on weightlessness. Or even weight in general. We know that with lashings you can become basically in zero G and if you stored all your weight totally nude minus a small iron earring you could become nearly zero G. Now, do lashings change via different gravitates? I know roshar is smaller than earth so by theory would it require a lashing and a fraction of a lashing to create weightlessness? Also, what happens if you store weight in zero gravity via space or a lashing? Would you just be unable to store at all because it's not a factor of mass but a factor of gravity? Or let's say you have a wind runner who also happens to be a feruchemist in iron, what if you lashed yourself repeatedly so that you had immense gravity upward and then you stored all that weight. Could you basically use stormlight to fuel your ironmind? Lastly what happens if you were to tap weight and then lash yourself to a wall. Could you basically destroy buildings this way or would you need to lash multiple times to make up for the tapped weight? Speculations?
  22. I think in the case of sel, it would be a factor of finding a way to calculate planetary distance and then just teleporting there from elantris. Granted they would need the skill in order to return to sel. But imagine finding an accurate way to measure the distance to say scadrial in footsteps. Then they calculate, draw the aon for teleportation in their spaceship and then boom they teleport just outside the planet and defend back down. Or maybe it just requires a sacrifice of many monks haha
  23. Not Kaladin directly, just forbidden from killing a wind runner specifically a radiant
  24. Really the only other way I can think of to kill a limitless health ferring would be to kill him in a way that requires more than just health, you could overheat them to the point that thy don't have the physical matter to make blood (unless you are the lord ruler and have unlimited calories and hydration stored). Or you could crush them to the point that they would zap more and more health to not be crushed. Basically you would have to cause continuous damage where their body would require more and more health creating an exponential decay of their metal minds and then you could take away all their health. This is similar to how the lord ruler ages quicker and quicker due to removed atiumminds. The body wants to return to a natural state. So by causing continuous damage such as tons of electricity for a few minutes, the body will heal itself more and more and that unlimited health gets sucked away much more quickly then just shooting them
  25. Someone was actually able to re-rail this thread. Awesome haha nice work. I am more interested now in the thought that breath can become more potent to make the first heightening equal to the tenth?
