  1. Checkmate haha thanks for all that
  2. maybe there is a way to compound to enhance allomancy but that doesn't mean the WoB I have is false...
  3. yes the cookie overlords have seen fit to end this thread and reveal their master plan fare thee well cookie lords, fare thee well
  4. but what there is more, you could make it a fabrial so that it soul casts lighting that turns things into cookies of all different kinds. Then you bind a baking spren to it and give it a seon that is the word for cookies. Hoid you evil genius
  5. then you put a soul stamp on it so that it thinks its a real boy.... did we just recreate adonilism?
  6. but if the blade soul casts anything it touches into cookies when it is transported to the spiritual realm (when sheathed) what would become of all the dead people there?? Its a cookie armagedon. Hoid is evil now
  7. I have it confirmed to my by Word of Brandon at the steelheart signing in orem that he made himself just an incredibly strong allomancer with the well of ascension and that is why it is so powerful
  8. yeah but thats because it involves orders. I am only just kidding in this and saying that technically he can't be ordered around if he is free... Edit: haha he has to try killing Kaladin without an honor blade (surges gone). Then he still somehow kills Kaladin and calls himself stupid for the rest of eternity
  9. I wonder if you could use duralumin temporarily make breaths stronger, such as each breath being equal to a divine breath... that would be interesting...
  10. Also to note is that the compounded health not only heals any wound that can be dealt to him (Read alloy of law and witness this power with miles hundredlives) but he also had a huge amount of pewter allomancy. TLR made himself an incredibly strong allomancer with the well of ascension. This is why his soothing is so powerful. But his pewter is also incredibly powerful. So almost any form of violence would barely phase him, then his healing abilities granted from compounding feruchemical gold would reset his body. He would be impossible to kill or defeat except for that achelles heel in his atrium minds. Granted earlier in his years of ruling, even this would not kill him so fast, it took a thousand years of cognitive aging for him to be defeated so easily. His body was so old in technical terms that it wanted to return back to natural AKA old dusty skeleton. but if it was only a hundred years out of whack, he might of aged slower and gone to retrieve his atiumminds.
  11. Yes precious, Sandersons tricks's us. He makes's us thinks something precious, then he changes's it precious. Why why why precious?
  12. That is also possible, but it seems that of all the metals in allomancy, the enhancement metals are the only ones that deal with change in investiture. Assuming that we could create multi powered characters, I think the magic systems would have some way of interacting with each other. Imagine the possibilities. I agree that it may be more limited than I am hoping for though. I just hope that we do not have to wait too long to find out haha
  13. but if that were the case then the boon would also be inherited, but its not. I think the boon and curse are separate from this aspect of cultivation we are discussing.
  14. it affects the metals yes, but the metals are simply a catalyst for the investiture to be channeled through. Similar to the Aons on Sel. Also similar to the way storm light isn't the actual energy that fuels surges, simply the catalyst for the energy to channel through. The energy I am sure is the power of the shards themselves. Duralumin simply exhausts the catalyst in one big burn. Imagine creating a surge with all the storm light in your body, or teleporting far by channeling the full power of the aon
  15. Really Swimmingly? I would love to see that citation That sounds epic. But yeah I always suspected there is more use to the cosmere from aluminum and duralumin and their external counterparts. I suspect they can affect all different sorts of internal investiture.
  16. Thanks for that PorridgeBrick! I still speculate that the body focus is how they draw in storm light though. Otherwise what is the point of the body focus?
  17. This just occurred to me that we do not know enough about Truthless. They have a few rules such as not taking one's own life, and not giving up their shard blade, but what if they are forbidden from killing other surgebinders? I mean to me it always sounded like a flawed system. "We hate fighting and killing, so go and be ordered to fight and kill"? I mean seriously. I am growing suspicious that truthless have a different purpose altogether. What if they are just tasked in guarding honorblades or a way to draw out the knights radiant? Imagine someone from centuries ago going "hey how do we get the knights radiants to come out of hiding?" "I know! lets order someone to do a bunch of killing with surgebinding that no one else but a surgebinder can beat!" Its silly I know, but what if Szeth goes to attack Kaladin and Kaladin whips out some epic surge binding powers and szeth breaks down in tears going "Finally! I am free!" Then he hands Kaladin his blade fulfilling his obligation as truthless and ta da! Szeth walks as a free man and Kaladin becomes a full Radiant! (And then just for kicks the blade warps into a spear [shardspear!]) Oh and then also Szeth becomes a good guy to redeem all the killing he has been forced to do. It may not go down as silly as that, but as it stands, I do not see Kaladin winning any fights with Szeth and the whole truthless thing seems flawed. I suspect something tricky is going to go down
  18. perhaps not, because with feruchemy the investiture is not stored directly in the body. Duralumin simply exhausts the investiture catalyst directly within your body AKA the metals. With feruchemy the investiture is stored in temporal displacement with the metal minds being used as a medium by which they transfer. There is no net gain. I imagine duralumin when compounding would do some wicked stuff though.
  19. haha yeah that would be cool. Imagine trying to focus on your bones though kind of reminds me of some monks on Sel that we know and love
  20. I thought the types of blades were shard blades, honor blades, and then I remember reference somewhere about dawnshards? what if these are simply the third kind of blade and not the same thing as honor blades as everyone seems to think? (http://stormlightarchive.wikia.com/wiki/Dawnshards)
  21. I would like to comment that storm light is in all likelihood a gaseous form of a shard, most likely honor. I think that we are looking at it all wrong though. Just because it is a gas, does not mean you have to inhale to use its power. Vin was sucking in the mists through her skin. I propose that this is similar to how storm light works. Granted Breath (which I believe is the gaseous form of endowment) has to be exhaled and inhaled to be transferred, but the awakened objects can't inhale the breath can they? I think it is just a matter of focus. I imagine the Godking in Warbreaker can awaken with just a thought without the need for breathing. Each of the radiants had a different body focus: inhalation, exhalation, the soul, the eyes, the hair, the blood, oil, the nails, the bone, and flesh. Windrunners would be inhalation, meaning to draw the storm light into their body, they simply inhale but not necessarily inhale it into their lungs, perhaps this is just a process by which to draw the power. I imagine a sky breaker would use exhalation similarly by exhaling where maybe they would create a cognitive low pressure system of investiture so the storm light can be sucked into their body. I bet they hold their breath similarly (or lack of breath) because it keeps the storm light from leaking faster. I am not positive on which body focus goes to which order of radiants but what jumps out at me is oil. This might be directly related to oils/ lipids in the body aka body fat. Remind anyone of a certain edge dancer we know that metabolizes her fat and food into storm light? perhaps when she takes in storm light directly she does so by focusing on her body fats and oils. As to the other body focuses, one may simply have to focus on the body part to draw in the storm light or so to speak. Maybe by thinking spiritually with your soul you draw in storm light, or by focusing on your heart beat and the blood flowing through your body you draw in storm light. To me they all seem plausible. Inhalation and Exhalation just happen to be more of an action body focus rather than a body part. I imagine that the difference in body focus is what determines who is a fighting radiant while the others are scholars (I find a soul body focus hard to imagine fighting) I could be wrong however because we just know so little about the world of Roshar. We have four mistborn novels to compare our theories too where as we only have one storm light archive still Cant wait for that to change ;D
  22. So suppose that a hemiralgic spike is used to take the power of a duralumin misting, then giving to someone on the other planets. Imagine burning duralumin while surgebinding. I imagine the stormlight that the individual would be used in a great big burst. Imagine being able to not just pull arrows but axial people to your shield like the ars ancarnum states might be possible. Or imagine creating powerful aondor magics allowing the elantrians to maybe teleport to other planets or even healing entire populations. I have trouble picturing what an enhanced awakening would be like though
  23. How do we know rock can't touch Spren? He is just so reverent around them he doesn't dare try and touch them. And it may not be a boon or curse, just simply a scar from where cultivation touched their spiritweb. I think it's an indirect affect and it may not be so present to everyone. I acknowledge that Dalinar can't see the Spren such as syl, but perhaps that is because cultivation just purposely made it this way. I'm sure a god can do that...
  24. Perhaps he was atium copycat twonborn like electrum and mental speed
