  1. The main problem is his agents on the Thaylen Council and his assassins. I would threaten Odium (as he is still Odium at this point and thus cannot smite me) with revealing his secret destruction and subsequent preservation of Kharbranth in the SR. Assuming he doesn’t want Cultivation to know his vulnerability, then I’d require him to withdraw his Fused and use his agents to make myself more powerful to ignore the Merchant Council. With that, I would prepare Thaylenah for what will be essentially a blockade, unless ports are opened. If possible, I’d attempt to demand more concessions like the opening of various ports, specifically the rivers leading into Azir and the Shattered Plains. With access to Azir, we’d be able to connect all the free nations together (as long as Urithiru’s magic barrier goes away eventually). I’d eventually try to create a fairly democratic nation, with an expanded Thaylen Council. With the agreement still in place to protect from Retribution and access to trade with Azir/Urithiru/Narak, Thaylenah would likely be alright, even if in a bit of a recession. Hopefully with the help of maybe Navani/the Urithiru artifabrians, Stormlight could be recreated with either Warlight or liquid from Retribution’s perpendicularity. With the areas being unpopulated and uncontrolled, hopefully the Frostlands and former Kharbranth could be settled to expand Thaylenah’s territory.
  2. Harmony specifically intervened to allowed koloss to breed. I suspect the way it works is that all the “koloss” are a race of “koloss-blooded,” whether or not they have spikes or not. What I mean is that “koloss” genes don’t exist and Harmony made it so that the koloss blooded traits are just regular. I’d be like if some inquisitors reproduced and then passed down their spikes to their child. The child didn’t “inherit” the hemalurgy, even if they did end up the same as their parent.
  3. Partly explained by this, maybe they used something like the Ire connection orbs: Explained by this, the vessel does influence shardic intent, but not permanently: These suggest Ado shattered into specific shards, not just "blank canvas" shards: Have a nice day! Interesting theory though. There's a lot we don't know about the shattering.
  4. Oh, that's a shame. Corn tortillas are great, but are definitely less common than they should be. You do have to spice those up more.
  5. Based on this, you live in Arkansas (not Kansas or Kansas City surprisingly enough). While that's as far away enough from the GREAT TORTILLA BELT (away with Sun Belt, Rust Belt, Corn Belt, etc.) as I expected, you clearly have never had a good tortilla. Good tortillas, I am satisfied to just eat by themselves, without any other ingredient, like tasty bread. (Although they are of course better with like anything you put in them)
  6. My username is like, right there. You can break it up into three characters anyways, easier to remember. (qian wei lian)
  7. Aradan Liese, Mistwarrens Hmmm. So I guess I'm just stuck here then. I was never really one for regrets... "My name is Aradan and I...," Aradan hesitated for a moment, "I was a lawman of sorts, in the Southern Roughs, if you know that place. I worked with the local constables, and then..." Then I found out about their banditry. "...then I was betrayed and left for dead. I wandered through the wilds for some time, eventually found this," he reaches into his shirt and pulls out a small nicrosil disc for Thav to see. "This is a strange device that lets me burn iron, and then I later found myself here." He cleared his throat. "I always hated crime, after my parents were..." Even though, they were criminals too, or at least that's what he said they were. Aradan shook his head and continued, "Regardless, I have seen a lot of petty thievery here since I've arrived, and I'm interested in doing what I can to stop it. Helping infiltrate this organization of yours seems to be a reasonable start. I'm actually really lucky to be in a position to help people." "I'm both a Thug, a Bloodmaker, and I have this medallion for me to burn iron. Unfortunately, I still failed there, so I have to become more powerful somehow. You seem amicable enough, would you like to help me? Clean up the streets? Protect the people?" After Aradan finished, the air was silent for a moment. He then added, "Oh, and I'd greatly appreciate it if you knew somewhere I could sleep." @Steel Speedster
  8. Fixed. Sorry, forgot I wasn't on Cosmere Discussion.
  9. Aradan Liese, Mistwarrens That was unexpected, Aradan thought. After a second, he holstered his gun and scratched his chin. He narrowed his eyes, staring at the man. Something that anyone could say...but he doesn't seem to be lying. If he is lying, than staying close to him might stop another mugging tonight, and regardless, he appears to be honest. Now decided, Aradan moved to shake his hand, making sure to keep an eye on his gun. "Very well. I even help you take down this group, if that is what you wish. However, I must request that you will tell me more about the information that you are hunting, and give me some suggestions on where to stay—I have no real knowledge of this city and have been sleeping on the streets. In exchange, I will tell you about myself and attempt to answer any questions you have." Aradan now was sure that this man—Thav, could very well help him both establish himself, and continue his goals of fighting crime. Maybe we could work together. Pewter or not, there's no way for me to take on criminals by myself. @Steel Speedster
  10. A.) My dad was into it, so I read TFE at like ~9? I forget. A lot went over my head. He also got me into WoT as well (see pfp, signature, title). B.) Pssh. I don't know. I was first interested in the Coppermind, then I looked at some of the other Sanderson sites. I lurked for a while before eventually making an account. C.) It's related to my name in Chinese (I'm not Chinese, my dad just went to Taiwan on his mission).
  11. It was more than a couple, but yes, Mistborn don't fare nearly as well as say, radiants, on the open battlefield. They are much more effective as assassins and/or guerillas. Maybe if the Mistborn still uses glass daggers. A Mistborn would be very scary to face in single combat, it would be like fighting Batman. Only, it turns out Batman probably doesn't do very well on a battlefield either. They have a decent stockpile of trellium, the issue is that they don't know how to split harmonium. (Given that it's Era 3)
  12. Aradan Liese, Mistwarrens Tap. Tap. Tap. Aradan walked along the cobbled road. Silence permeated the night, only broken by the sound of his footsteps. The mists always helped him think. He did not fear them, or any man within them, for he had already faced that darkness. The questions of how he had arrived here, how he had survived the journey, my parents' mysterious past. That doesn't matter right now. I need to find a place, a—crack. A shot rang out in the air. Crack. Aradan paused, hesitating for a moment. Then he burned pewter. Ahh, that feeling of strength—the feeling of POWER. Now to try something I have been wanting to try. Cautiously, he felt at the metal on his chest, and tapped the power within. Raising his arm, Aradan shot a hook out from his makeshift weapon. Then he PULLED and was dragged along the rope leading towards the roof of a nearby tenement. Breaking into a full sprint, he leaped across rooftops. He reached the corner from which the shots originated. A man lay tied up in an alleyway, seemingly helpless. Aradan burned iron, seeing a blue line point to a gun lying next to him. Jumping down, pewter enhancing his legs, he picked it up. One bullet from the chamber was missing. His attention turned back to the man. "Who are you? Who did you shoot at? Who tied you up?" Dazed, bound, the man merely pointed his head down another alley. After again ascending to a rooftop, he landed again. Fwoom. Aradan landed in front of another man. Raising his gun, he said in a low voice, "You mugged that man. Why?" @Steel Speedster
  13. Hey, I'm new to the Alleyverse, though I've occasionally glanced at it. I don't really know what exactly is going on in the rp right now. Something about New Hallendren and something called the "Crimson Breath." I tried looking through the topics, but I still don't quite understand the situation. Can someone give me a quick rundown? Also, does anyone have any ideas where I could go with my character (Aradan), or who I could collab with? Char below.
  14. I think Kelsier is the best candidate. He's a sliver of Preservation, currently uses Hemalurgy, and has historically been connected to Ruin.
  15. The simple rules were the following: Do not shed blood. (doesn't apply to accidents/normal stuff, only violence, makes the shades most dangerous) Do not start a fire. (only starting a fire, existing fires ignored, blinds & stuns the shades temporarily) Do not run at night. (doesn't make them aggressive immediately, least dangerous)
  16. The only thing Hoid wanted was to keep Odium trapped. He didn't care about Roshar.
  17. Somehow, Zane returned. That edgy love triangle was the worst part of WoA (in my opinion).
  18. Well, given that it's Era 3, aluminum should be common enough. If it's an open battlefield, this is easy: pump then full of lead (actually aluminum). If it's in an urban environment, this gets trickier. I'd probably send a small group to kill the mistborn, (very noisy), with a larger group slowly encircling and getting into ambush positions. Ideally, this squad would be able to shoot down at the mistborn from elevation, probably a roof. There's a decent chance of inter-planet trade, so I'd use blackbane coated bullets in an attempt to paralyze and kill them. Given that they're probably going to have metal on them, (coins or something), I'll use primer cubes to try and stun them if they try to escape with steel/iron. Speed bubbles shouldn't be an issue, as the Mistborn will have to be constantly moving to avoid being shot. The main strategy is to tie them down with fire and slowly advance until the Mistborn is caught.
  19. Afaik, Kelsier is still a "mistborn" in the spiritweb/connection sense, and he's a sliver of Preservation anyways, and Marsh is still a bronze misting.
  20. @Koloss17, I think I overestimated the power level somewhat, I'll try to scale down and add more flaws. I removed allomantic steel (current A iron, A pewter, F gold), added some stuff about recklessness and overconfidence, and improved detail on appearance. I also gave his backstory some more depth and added a potential internal conflict.
  21. I actually liked Abidi as a villain-of-the-book for Adolin. His arrogance, strength, and pettiness puts him in the perfect position to get hurt by Adolin.
  22. Okay, I'll work through it. I don't have time rn, but I should be able to get you an updated version by sometime tonight (in America).
  23. Hi, I'm new and I'm interested in the Alleyverse and I have a concept for a character. Is this acceptable? Any feedback or direction ideas?
