Interesting. I wonder what impact a highstorm blowing through Shinovar would have Is it possible that the Ghostbloods want the closed gem? For example, would they want it to experiment with bringing entities invested in a specific system to another? Something else? I'll miss it too! There's so many things that I wouldn't have noticed without people on the Shard pointing it out

A short last-minute WaT theory I was reading the thread linked below, when I made a connection I hadn't before: Taravangian's emotion serving as a Connection to Odium. While I was thinking about that, I realized, Cultivation's boon was a way of creating a vessel of Odium with enough Connection to manipulate the Shard that is still a cultivative vessel. The division between diagram Taravangian and sad-old-man Taravangian was not created by accident, but instead created so that there is a vessel of Odium that is still soundly connected to Cultivation. Now, here's where the theorizing starts. Why would Cultivation create a vessel with dual connection? There's several possibilities, here listed in no particular order. There are definitely other reasons that Cultivation could give the boon, but these are the only ones that I could think of that incorporate connection 1. A Colleague - Koravellium wants someone with the same goals as her being the vessel of Odium. We currently don't know the short-term goals of Taravangian or Koravellium, but it is definitely possible that they could align, and after, she could dispose of him. Alternatively, it could be that Koravellium misjudged Taravangian and is dealing with the consequences now. 2. A Replacement - Connection to Cultivation and Odium would make it very easy for Taravangian to either take up both shards, or abandon Odium to assume Cultivation. Koravellium could be planning to retire soon, leaving Cultivation to Taravangian. Either Koravellium is confident that she can train Taravangian, or she, as before, misjudged him. 3. An Insurance Policy - Similar to the replacement theory, except Cultivation isn't planning to retire anytime soon. She could be undertaking a dangerous endeavor, or just planning for the future. This is my first major theory for the shard, so if you have any feedback, let me know!

Will we finally get a confirmed name for Cultivation's Godmetal? Personally, I'm rooting for Koravarium

Honestly, I'm leaning nobody. We've already seen foreshadowing for sentient Investiture, and I think that when they find Honor, they'll find a type I entity in command of the Shard
-
Isn’t there a WoB that says that if Navani left the tower for too long the bond would decay? If that was true, wouldn’t it be more like Selish magic where the investiture is tied to a place? Or would it would be more like bringing spren over planetary lines?

How do the Ghostbloods have so much anti-Stormlight?
OoklaApologist replied to coolsnow7's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This also begs the question, where is Vasher, really? We know he can make Anti-Light and is mysteriously missing. Maybe the Ghostbloods have him? -
Did he promise to serve Odium or serve Rayse? If he acts in the interests of the shard, is that 'serving Odium'?

Is it going to turn off when Navani goes to the spiritual realm?
-
Wasn't it that when Rodium made the duel agreement, it was with Dalinar acting as a representative of Honor? So, if Taravangian gained possesion of both Honor and Odium, wouldn't he have the power to modify the terms of the duel on behalf of Odium and on behalf of Honor, or maybe even appoint both sides of the duel? What would that be like?

Maybe it's the influence of growing up around an Unmade. It could also be related to the weird Spiritual stuff she can do. If I saw some other evidence, I might make a "Testament was enlightened" theory. We shall see, indeed! That's a very good point, however though can't speak to Alethi traditions, old portraits were often touched up. Maybe that was done to a large extent in the portraits Ehlokar had done?
-
Another point of view, it doesn’t. Finding BAM could be the goal of Mrazie and co., while moving stormlight, and possibly other investitures, and maybe even invested entities, is the goal of Kelsier when incorporating the Rosharan branch Theory time: Could you kill a being like that? Imagine if Dalinar or someone else attempts to ascend, the fate of Roshar rests on his shoulders, and Honor turns out to be sentient. Can you kill to protect? Should you kill a being like that? Alternatively, what if the vessel of Honor is already taken, be it by an old god or the Stormfather himself? What would happen then?
-
Isn't it because it requires stormlight both ways, and it's hard to get stormlight in the CR? At least people around Gavilar knew the process, and I'd assume there were written records at some point That's interesting, right? The narritive didn't really mention her pain. Is she developing a gold-compounder resistance to it?
-
Another question, do the Rosharan Ghostbloods have the support of Scadrial at this point? They might not have medallions and other tools either because of a lack of an ability to charge them or a simple lack of materials. Additionally, there's only one person on Roshar that's confirmed to be a native-born Scadrian, and he's at least 300 years old. They might not know even how to alloy newer metals, let alone manufacture Malwish tech. It could be that they learned it at around the same time Gavilar did, but that raises the question of why this hasn't come up before

I feel like Shallan, in the moment, self-sabotaged by jumping away. Iyatil would definitely anticipate the person running away to be the real one, remember, the illusion was just standing still. How do we know that? We don't see any of their influence outside of Alethi circles. I don't think they were before this chapter. They acted very startled to observe her, and attempted to negotiate
-
This begs a major question. With Shards being constrained to their Intents, can they be completely good? There's an argument to be made that Harmony had to destroy southern Scadrial, his ruinous aspect demanded it. In a lot of ways, Shards, even when being held by good vessels, are constrained, not to the best option, but to that which is the best that they can do. This is a bit of a problem, especially when the option actively does evil
