MR74: The Politics of Gods
OoklaApologist replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hey slayer! I forgot about the game yesterday lol. I guess we're getting down to business. @Amanuensis, care to share your read from this post? I'm as curious as slayer was. I'll wait at least 12 hours for reads, because I want to get back into the swing of things, and re-read c1 (5 pages, wow!) but I'll leave you with a bit of info, mostly because I think this knowledge benefits the village more. I'm a member of Willshaper, and so was Gaea. There are currently 4 players in Willshaper. So far I am the only person who has talked in my doc. Also, since some people asked last cycle, I'm "always an elim" because three out of four of my first games with default alignments were elim games. That game history means I recommend Slayer get a pass for poking me, because we played together in the only other Nalthis game of last year, and were notably v/e. Finally, @The Unknown Hammerer, a word of advice: when choosing names, consider those that don't remind me of geometry class. I'm getting flashbacks -
I think we might have the next MR figured out!

Signing up as Zyvoxid Linezolid, an old, wizened man with gold bands around his arms that he couldn't possibly afford with his current salary My favorite thing to do when I don't have a name is to scroll wikipedia's list of antibiotics and do a first name-last name combo with the chemical name and a brand name https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linezolid#Brand_names- 478 replies

Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake

In terms of game-related talk, this is strange to me. Why not share your suspicions, Aeternum, even at the early stages? Who are you side-eying? Who looks village to you? -

Mehlarin turned, just for a moment, to face Greebas. Mehlarin didn’t speak, but just for a moment, Greebas felt a connection. Polly spoke to Obdiluard. “One last thing,” she said. “Control your man. And don’t tell him our secrets. If they learn the rules of the game, we’ll have no power over them.” -

Obdilaurd, Pizzaguy, whoever i’m addressing, Polly is my nickname. It’s the stressed syllable in apologist Man, kinda counterintuitive when you think about it lol -

86… 87… Sweat dripped down Mehlarin’s face, and even the light clothes he bought in Ru Parat weren’t enough. 91… 92… Was someone calling his name? Maybe he was too far away. 96… 97… He was sure of it now. The Alethi-looking man, what was his name? 98… He ought to announce something. He breathed in, and in a nasal, halting tenor, he proclaimed, “Ninety-nine, one hundred!” Steeling himself again, he walked up to… Kalad something (@TwinStorm) -
Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
OoklaApologist replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Melahrin edged forwards, slowly, carefully, disturbing the pebbly shore with his boots. He crouched down before the still, clear water, and looked out. He could still see the bottom, even a hundred feet out. Hesitantly, as if he was defacing some great work of art, he lifted a pebble and skipped it. From every point where it grazed the surface, perfectly circular rings radiated peacefully, only disturbed by the other, just as peaceful rings from latter skips. He tried again. Now nine rings, some young and strong, some nearing death, disturbed the small sector of water before him. A personal little show. He figured it might get boring after a while, but now, it was like his own personal art show. Mehlarin looked up, at all the others gathered. They had already started talking, discussing who was the lawbreaker. He stepped towards them, nervous. They’d already noticed his… deformity, he was sure of that, but they hadn’t heard him speak yet. He reached for the sketch in his pocket, and touched it, for confidence. There were other things he could do to make an impression on these people. He walked a little closer, finding flatter ground that wouldn’t hurt his hands, far enough away that it seems like he’s doing his own thing, and starts doing push-ups. -

Long Game 106: On the Shores of The Black Lake
OoklaApologist replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Lipitor stumbled into the village square, obviously drunk, with a damp red face, like he'd been crying. He pushed aside Derrick and Keldorn, stepping into the middle of the group. He proclaimed, "I, Lipitor, hero of <hic> -- where am I again? -- hero of Blackkeep, savior of <hic> Ashford, will solve this crime, liberate you fine people to move freely throughout the dominance, and make sure those responsible face justice at the hands of our <hic> merciful city Lord Whoever." "Now -- what is the crime, again?" -
Long Game 106: On the Shores of The Black Lake
OoklaApologist replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Lipitor the Tall, hero of Ashford, was the most important man who ever lived. His fellow skaa bowed to him. Obligators addressed him to his face. He was once granted an audience with merciful Lord Ashford himself. Lipitor’s exploits were noble, selfless, strong. He helped old mother Zelie across the river during the flood four years back. He saved young Soan from the vicious Goat of Ruin. That was not all — he was the savior of Ashford. When the merciful Lord Ashford died, and the Koloss came, he led the escape. Through hardship, loss, and tribulation, he and what remained of his village arrived at the mountains. The city of Blackkeep. The Pillars of Ashford — the Bastions of Ashford? Lipitor hadn’t decided. The Ashford Thirty, Lipitor first among them, had arrived. He stomped up to the village square and proclaimed, “I am Lipitor the Tall” No one was amazed. He tried again, louder this time. “I am Lipitor, hero of Ashford, defeater of the Goat of Ruin” A few people looked at him strangely. Some refugees just looked down. Someone coughed. His own contingent clapped supportively, but tiredly. Lipitor figured he had better things to do. “I, Lipitor, will make sense of this town. Onward, to exploration!” The Ashford Thirty gave him a few weak smiles. Others jeered. One threw a rock, yelling, “Good riddance, you pompous brat.” Lipitor, unfazed, continued to walk. Soan stood, and flipped the Lopen gesture, snapping back, “Hey! That’s Lipitor you’re messing with” Lipitor himself just kept walking. He wondered where he could get a drink. Signing up as Lipitor, a folk hero, who is kind of a pompous brat. -
