  1. There are now...

    *counts*

...four dead spiders in my room that I don't want to clean up.

    Plus countless living ones.

    Oh well.

    Anyway, how're y'all?

Sometimes, with my family, I have to wonder.

  2. You guys realize that the boon is the wish and the bane is the curse, right...? Granted. You are shot into space. I wish people would always use correct grammar.
  3. Granted. You have severe DID. I wish to be able to fall asleep anywhere.
  4. I tell you that you will eventually see.
  5. The books are (almost) always better. There are some movies where they've told a different story with the same premise that are actually pretty good (e. g. Dune)
  6. Because it's The Battle for the Sandwich and it's funny to pick on a single person sometimes. I shove Vyz into a butterfly containment habitat with giant, carnivorous butterflies who are constantly trying to kill him. Then I give Strmblsd a motorcycle helmet that will become relevant later.
  7. Granted. She has severe DID. I wish to be able to hang out with my friends in person more.
  8. Vyz's excitement causes him to explode.
  9. When your cousins visit and trash your room and your bathroom AND NOW THERE ARE CHIPS GROUND INTO THE CARPET WHYYYYYYYYYYy
  10. Reading and talking on here, pretty much. Hbu?
  11. This is how I found out Tori Pence from Studio C was a sanderfan. That was a fun night
  12. Good morning! I VEEN I Goodnight!
  13. Vyz burns up in the atmosphere and Strmblsd's wish comes true because of it. The Sandwich hits the ground.
  14. I, having suddenly appeared next to you now that you've revealed your location, slap you, then punt the Sandwich back to Earth.
  15. I FINISHED ENDER'S GAME

      Yeah.

The Shadow saga has a lot of geopolitical stuff. I liked it way better my second read.

The Ender saga is more philosophical.

      Hmmm

Still going to read Speaker next, I think.

      Hmmm

I just found a giant dead spider under my dresser. Nasty.

      Hmmm

@J. Magi I do see where you're coming from, and I do agree to an extent that the characters didn't seem very human at times, but I also think that this was a very unique book with a very unique set of circumstances in which the semi-psychotic adults people in control didn't allow the characters to openly feel human around each other, which was a big part of the plot. The whole time they're making him into a commander, isolating him and trying to make him less dependent on other people for support, and so I think it makes that it would be difficult to sympathize with any of the characters because they were forced to become so emotionless and distant from each other. I think it also makes sense that, from any given character's perspective, the stress and pressure that they each (especially Ender) go through makes it possible for the reader to understand why the character acts and think the way they do, which in turn makes it easier to empathize with that character.

      Y'know?

      Spoiler

@The Bookwyrm here I was worried that I was being to argumentative . . . you weren't at all!! I totally respect your opinion as well.

@Through The Living Glass I see your point, however I'd argue that the book doesn't do enough to actually say that. No one really calls out the actions of the adults as wrong, and they certainly don't get punished for their literal crimes. That's frustrating--when an author doesn't call out immoral actions it can feel like their condoning them, even if they don't mean to. The inhumanness of the characters is practically glorified. Your supposed to be glad, that Ender has been twisted into what he is. At least that's how I read it.

      Spoiler

      I also like debating lol ! !

@Edema Rue yess that's so true! I always try to remind myself that I book I don't like brings joy to someone else.

  16. Indeed. Time is a strange thing. Eddieiey
