  1. "...okay so most of it is silver but STILL!"
  2. A wagon pulled by two horses approached, Rye's face visible from the driver's seat. "Greetings, Jolane," he said. "I have something for you and your family." He jumped out of the wagon and opened the back, pulling out a large sack and tossing it to the ground. Gold coins spilled out. "It's filled to the brim with gold. For you, as an apology for burning down the inn. Or, at least, attracting the people who burned down the inn. I don't need it. It's yours."
  3. I know I wanted to do this, but I really don't think I can. I probably won't be available when it starts until the end of the day, and that's always when ALL the action happens, so I would just miss out on everything at the start, which likely isn't recommended in the HG roleplays. I think I can be a monster because they're relatively low maintenance compared to a tribute, but yeah I just don't have the time.
  4. I come back to this thread after a couple weeks and take the Sandwich, promising that in three days I will come back to this post and edit it. I come back to this post and edit it.
  5. "Just as it has always been, when our memories fade into twilight, a new era dawns to fill the void, an unfamiliar path with a pulse of its own, a tempo not dictated by the labor of men, but accelerated by the rhythm of machines, launching the world into an age of bold innovation..." -me randomly during P.E. AND "The meaties don't give a crap about where they sleep." "Well, they crap all over the place but I get what you're saying."
  6. "Oh, definitely. I mean, I've heard they just invented a steam powered engine, too. I wonder how that'll work."
  7. "Well thanks. I spent a long time making it. Almost four years."
  8. "I've crossed that ocean before" Rye replied. "At least a few people here have, actually." He glanced at Arke.
  9. Hey, how's it going?

  10. The last witch hunter stepped back, dropping his weapon and raising his hands in surrender. Rye stepped out into the scene, taking off his hood. "Uh... hi guys. I think I'm your witch. And... and I'm sorry. I'm sorry for bringing your inn to ruin, for bringing these thugs here in the first place. I promise, I will make it up to you all. I have a lot of money, granted to me by the Shenai for helping develop their weapons. I've never spent it. It's all stowed away in the bank at Jansu. It's a three day trip from here, but I promise I will go and bring you the money." His eyes searched the crowd until he found Jolane. "You will need it most of all," he murmured.
  11. "Ow-" Rye falls to the ground unconscious.
  12. "Uh.... yeah."
  13. The rest of the witch hunters had mixed responses. Three drew their weapons and rushed at Arke and Ma'tani, clubs and shortswords, really. The rest fled. One just stood there, staring at Nelan's corpse in shock. Rye tucked the gun back into his coat, whistling softly. This is all my fault...
  14. Nelan screamed and fell to the floor, clutching his bleeding leg. His other hand, holding the sword, swung at her feet with rage. Rye quickly drew a strange little contraption from his coat. It resembled a small L-shaped piece of carved wood, with a hole at the front and a lever or trigger beneath. I hope this works... He aimed the gun at Nelan. A moment later, a loud CRACK sounded, and the leader of the witch hunters slumped to the ground, blood dripping from a wound in his head. Rye pocketed the gun, hoping no one had noticed where the shot had come from.
  15. Nelan hesitated, then lunged wildly at her. "DIE, DEMON!"
  16. Rye slowly draws a knife, hand shaking intensely. "Hello," he says, walking up to the cultists, "May I join your sacrifice?"
  17. Nelan finally stands back up, and throws his club into the flames, drawing a wicked broadsword from his belt instead. "Maybe YOU are the witch!" Rye walks up to Arke, face still obscured by his hood. "Hey, did you get those weapons? 'Cause now would be a good time to use them." @TheRavenHasLanded
  18. Nelan dropped, groaning in pain. The rest of the witch hunters surrounded him, drawing clubs. "We're willing to fight all of you if it means finding the witch!" one screamed. "We'll burn down as many buildings as we can!" Sutter coughed and sneaked away. "Crazy cousin and his crazy cult..." he muttered.
  19. The witch hunters reflexively drop the torches as they grunt with surprise. Rye shoots awake and opens his window. "Time to go. I hope one of those people found my cache..."
  20. I'll have to make a character for this some time.
  21. Nelan busts down the door as he marches into the inn with his witch hunters... again. This time, they seem far more enraged. "WHERE. IS. THE. WITCH." Nelan demanded. It seems like at any moment they were ready to throw their torches at the dry wooden floor. Meanwhile, Rye himself is asleep in his bed.
  22. Wyldri studied it intently. "This could be anything really. A farmhouse, a temple, a fortress... We should investigate further." She glanced at the bird.
