  1. The Greenspine paused. "THEY PROMISED ME THE BLOOD OF MANY, AND I AM FREE TO ROAM THE ISLANDS. I HAVE NO GRUDGE AGAINST THE GAMEMAKERS." A vine found its way into Berin's arm wound, pushing into his flesh.
  2. Berin is immediately grabbed by the vines again, unable to perform whatever he was trying to do. "IT IS DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE YOU ARE STILL ALIVE, YOUNG ONE," the Greenspine suddenly speaks. "I WILL END YOUR PAIN AND DRINK YOUR BLOOD." The vines contort and twist around Berin. @SpiritOfWrath
  3. A row of sharp green spikes rose from the water, moving rapidly towards Berin. Verdant vines shot out from the unsubmerged parts of its back, grabbing the pole and breaking it in two (which still left Berin with a weapon, although considerably shortened).
  4. The Greenspine's Verdant vines sank back into the monster's skin, dropping Berin back into the tropical warm water as the beast itself dove beneath the waves again.
  5. You are guaranteed dead if you somehow manage to kill the Greenspine at this moment, though. Without someone in control of those vines, the moment they hit water, that's it. You could escape, however.
  6. Oh, I forgot deepwalkers have tusks. Well, I'm just going to keep the Greenspine as is.
  7. Sutter belched in the background.
  8. The vines tighten instead, although little bits of green dust are scraped off, silver is the only real effective material that can combat aether.
  9. The Greenspine screeches in pain, and finally it decides to use its other ability (since it's above water now). Verdant spore vines suddenly fly out everywhere, grabbing Berin and lifting him into the air, trying to wriggle their way into his face. "I WILL FEED ON YOUR BLOOD."
  10. The Greenspine surfaced again, immediately sucking all Investiture from the Aviar using its Larkin ability.
  11. The Greenspine followed swiftly, mouth wide open, showing teeth almost as sharp as its many spines. It was still bleeding from its back.
  12. The plants seemed to move suddenly, jerking in front of the spike and slowing it, but it still pierced into the Greenspine's skin. They hit the seafloor, and the Greenspine flipped over, trying to smash Berin against the rocks.
  13. A booming underwater roar came the Greenspine's response. The spike shot out like a bullet, straight at Berin, and the Greenspine's blood clouded the water.
  14. The Greenspine's scaly eyelid closed before he was able to try that. It continued swimming downwards.
  15. The Greenspine roared, and a moment later it was back underwater, trying to drag Berin under.
  16. The Greenspine surfaced right below the boat, breaking it in half instantly.
  17. The protein bar, plopping into the water near shore, has no effect on the Greenspine. It continues rising towards Berin.
