  1. Well yeah, but I do believe the mention of Szeth is a part of the AA, not really separate like the glossary was. TWoK doesn't even have a glossary. I wasn't really debating the existence of some sort of record on who's who, but simply saying that the HoA glossary is not a part of that.
  2. I can definitively say that Skybreakers are a Radiant Order. Interview coming "soon". Probably this weekend, if I can manage it.
  3. Psh, we all know you're a Stalkerson at heart Don't get too excited about this whole Utah thing, all this means is that I expect regular signing reports from you and that I'll constantly be bombarding you with questions to ask And, lastly, congrats again! I'm super excited that you made it
  4. Unless I'm mistaken, the glossary and the Ars Arcanums are not considered to be together. It would be rather silly, in my opinion, to have the glossary be in-world.
  5. Nope, Brandon's got at least one chapter on his website, and Tor recently released one on their website as well. I think they're the same, but I haven't checked.
  6. I think that you can awaken metal without making it sentient just like you can Awaken anything else. You need the 9th Hightening, sure. There's a special process involved in making a Type IV Biochromatic entity.
  7. I honestly have no idea. I've never had to set one up before. I think you wouldn't be able to, but they might still show up in the "Recent Active Content" section. Like I said, no decisions have been made.
  8. I personally don't believe that Shallan will be able to Lightweave. My money's still on Sigzil, if only due to his connection to Hoid. In my mind, Shallan fits perfectly in Order 6, which as hoser said, has attributes that seem to fit her well: creativity and honesty. She was creative the whole book, and it seems that the honesty is something she's working towards, much as Kaladin had to work towards being able to try to protect people once again. The problem I see is that the essence Lucentia, which contains the root "Luc," meaning light, is almost certainly connected to whatever orders can Lightweave. However, Lucentia is seemingly attached to Order 4, which means it is probably only shared with Orders 3 or 5, not 6. It could be that we're just misunderstanding the chart here, but I don't think it's possible for Shallan to be in Order 6 and Lightweave, and in my opinion, there's much more evidence tying her to Order 6 than tying her to Lightweaving.
  9. I would be fine with now, I just haven't conversed with any of the admins. I don't want to say that we're making one now when I can't guarantee that.
  10. It comes from a signing a few months ago. There was a massive, massive amount of filler audio to sort through, so it has not yet been posted, but it will be soon.
  11. <snarky sarcasm>Except for the fact that Baxil's mistress, almost certainly Shalash, seems to have pretty much gone the exact opposite direction from her attributes, destroying rather than creating, making her someone who Shallan would not get along with particularly well</snarky sarcasm> :P/>
  12. Well, that certainly does imply multiple apprentiships. But the whole Hoid and Herald thing is pretty unfounded at the moment. The only connection Shallan and Shalash have at the moment is that one is named after the other. I must say though, reading a passage with both of them in it would be fairly obnoxious, mixing up the names. XD
  13. Hey guys, I realize that it's exciting to want to discuss the stuff we've figured out from Stormlight 2 readings, interlude videos, and elsewhere. There are people who don't want to hear anything about Stormlight 2 until they actually get the chance to read it though. I'm going to start a discussion with the admins on what specifically we want to do in regards to spoilers and I'll let you all know ASAP. Until then, please put stuff in spoiler tags or, if the topic is dedicated to something in Stormlight 2, in the topic description.
  14. Troll Level: Expert That quote is bugging me... I swear it sounds familiar, waaaaay back from the early days when I joined the fandom. But it could be coming from a theory. I think it's oddly specific to be from a theory, though. I'm going to do some poking around and see if I can dig anything up.
  15. At first you simply wanted to help the Selish, provide wisdom, knowledge, and stop their silly wars and conflicts and replace that with peace. You tried to work through the Korathi and Derethi priests, but try as you might, your commands were always twisted and altered by priests with their own agendas, or ignored outright. As your frustration grew, you began to demand more and more of the priests, forcing them to obey you utterly to get your messages to the people. Then, you thought, they would devote themselves to you. But still this failed. People either didn't believe that you existed, or followed your commands hypocritically, making a mockery of all the wisdom you had shared. So, as your mind was shaped ever more by both Devotion and Dominion, you took control of the people. It was for their own good, after all. If they loved you and obeyed your will, surely conflict would cease? And it did. Every war on Sel ended and all loved and obeyed you. But just as the Selish lost their desire to fight, they also lost their ability to make choices, their free will. In the last distant corner of your mind that was still your own, you knew what you had done was wrong. But it was too late for that now. Sel became a "utopia," and a horror story that was told by Worldhoppers cosmere-wide. That was kind of dark... I wish that I could hang out in Urithiru.
  16. Did we ever come to a conclusive agreement on the time-frame? Also, Stormlight 2 spoilers were not something I was considering... I'll be sure to make sure any discussions involving them are marked as such for the convenience of yourself and any others who are avoiding spoilers. I laud your self-control, I don't have the strength of will to do that XD. Just for your information, the wiki is going to have spoilers from the readings on it. We've created a spoiler tag though, so if you see an article marked with that at the top, I'd steer clear. Eventually, as chapters and such are put online in anticipation of the release, a sub-board like TES could be created as well.
  17. Well, I am sure there were.
  18. Possible, but there were also kandra in the other storage caverns on contract that could help out with the repair of the kandra as well.
  19. I always try to just put a source link at the bottom of my quotes. If it's really a direct one, you've gone through the trouble of finding it already. It literally takes like 10 more seconds.
  20. Spirits were running high in the chatroom after the reveal of the title of book 2.
  21. Can we have a citation on the idea that Shallan's going to have an apprenticeship with a Herald and Hoid? I hadn't heard that one before
  22. Heavily invested objects, such as Shardplate or something like Nightblood, are mostly immune to Pushing and Pulling, though with a high enough power level it can be done.
  23. I've always thought this could be the case. It would be more interesting if they'd been eventually developed to work in concert with different types of Surgebinding abilities. Like how the Windrunners are always moving, so Windstance doesn't have any need of parrying motions.
  24. The book plugged was "An Autumn War" by Daniel Abraham, book three of the Long Price Quartet. I need to check that one out too... Welcome to the forums !
  25. Eh, the people of Roshar don't really have a concept of Gravity or Atmospheric pressure either, do they? And yet those are Surge names. They just blame gravity on groundspren. The only place gravity was even mentioned was the Ars Arcanum, which is written by someone with outside knowledge. I think these are the real names for the Surges.
