  1. And everyone appreciates you for not posting spoilers from it. I'd strongly recommend leaving the epilogue on Amazon alone guys. It undoes a lot of careful work and foreshadowing throughout the novel and if I read it by accident, I'd be extremely irked. Bands is less than a month out; hang in there and don't read it. You'll be glad that you didn't. And of course, it goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway), for the time being there will be absolutely no discussion of the things revealed at the end of Bands in the Amazon preview, not even in spoiler tags. If for some reason that changes, the admin team will let you know.
  2. I don't think it sounds particularly one way or another, personally. Endowment is female, though, if I recall correctly.
  3. Hmm, I hadn't seen that quote before, but I am a little curious now. Yomen (and I'm assuming most other atium Mistings that quietly existed in the history of the Final Empire) was not Snapped by the mists, yet was an atium Misting rather than some other metal. I wonder how that's supposed to work?
  4. This might just be my favorite piece of Stormlight fan-art I've ever seen. Thank you for sharing it with us! Also, as I guy pretty involved with the Coppermind, our wiki, I was wondering if we could make use of this piece of art? It would be attributed to you on there and any page we put it on. If not, no worries. I'm just glad we all got to see it.
  5. I concur with the others here, Venture was a powerful noble house, likely Douglas is the descendant of some relatively unimportant member of House Venture that survived in the storage caches. In response to your concern though, Douglas Venture now has a Coppermind page. Thanks for the heads-up!
  6. If we're including the short stories in this graphic, you're missing The Eleventh Metal, a Mistborn short story that's set prior to The Final Empire. Other than that, this is a cool concept, and I can't wait to see it expand as the cosmere grows. Hopefully one day Shadows for Silence and Sixth of the Dusk will have connections to the main series as well.
  7. Eh, that doesn't strike me as something Brandon would do. As such an intensive outliner, it seems odd to me that he would just put down random planet names that he might never use. He wouldn't confirm the names of planets that he definitely knew were going to be places he writes about, I'd be surprised to see him give us names without having anything planned for these worlds. You never know, though. I'm pretty sure that there are other galaxies, as shown in the original quote. "Much the same" means to me that there are other galaxies, as a universe without galaxies would not have much the same structure as our own. Also, not a correction but a cool little factoid that you guys may not have seen.
  8. Yeah, if I remember correctly, it was my idea that it was Thaylen characters on the map. I don't believe we have any direct confirmation. The fact that it was presumably a chart from Tozbek's ship and that when the language was decoded, it was discovered to have no vowels seems to imply that it's Thaylen pretty strongly to me.
  9. The interesting thing about the statchart is that I feel like it would limit Brandon's options some. Every few years, a new planet pops up. So unless he wants to have to be constantly updating the statchart, it has to be more or less complete.
  10. We have direct confirmation on Scadrial. The whole planet was created by Ruin and Preservation. I can find the quote later today, if you want.
  11. Man, that's pretty cool, if a little dark. xD
  12. He directly says how he did it in Hero of Ages. He absorbed OreSeur's body.
  13. Perhaps, but personally I think it's more an issue of Amaram's lands not bordering Dalinar's. It's be kind of awkward to swear allegiance to Dalinar and then still be in the center of Sadeas's lower.
  14. They don't have a centralized nervous system, but they do have decentralized lobes of neural tissue attached to various muscles in their body.
  15. I'm fairly certain that the only true danger a kandra faces from blades is that one of their spikes could be cut out or in a truly massive wound, perhaps separated from each other when a kandra is cut in half. Shadows of Self spoilers
  16. Eh, The Lord Ruler using the Well granted him an instinctive knowledge of Hemalurgy, I'm sure Ruin knows Allomancy just as well.
  17. Agreed. If Ym is an Edgdancer, I'll be shocked.
  18. It's been a full three years since that post, Stormgate. If there's something new to contribute, this long in the future, it's time to make a new topic. Thanks!
  19. I don't know, that honestly seems too complex to me. If you're using a different fuel, and different symbols, what part of what you're doing is actually AonDor? The act of actually drawing runes?
  20. Good to have you here! You've been a fan of Brandon's works for a long time! Which one would you say is your favorite?
  21. We've already discussed this one amongst ourselves. The page is to be called, "The Village."
  22. Kelsier's page is okay, but not great. We're looking for exemplary articles here, and there are precious few of those, because they are so time intensive. I'm working on a potential new one right now, but I'm not sure if we can steal art from the MAG.
  23. Still not getting where you're coming from I'm afraid. Why couldn't Paalm have simply stashed them in her body and dropped them somewhere during the chase? MeLaan keeps a gun in her chest cavity easily enough. And I do think you overestimate the constables' desire to help Wax and Wayne. If I were your average constable and I came across some gold in the bushes belonging to a pair of men who make a fool of the police force on a regular basis, I'd keep a hold of them and think it served them right too. Those are worth enough money to change an average man's life. I think any of these are "reasonable alternatives".
  24. Unless you have a quote Kythis, I disagree with you. I've never seen Brandon state that Elantris, Mistborn Era 1, and Warbreaker happen concurrently. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's a significant gap between Elantris and Mistborn. Did I miss something? Brandon's mostly stopped talking about timelines over the past couple years anyway.
  25. Sorry, I totally meant to come back and explain it, but I was in a hurry and didn't have time at the moment, so I totally spaced. Thanks YoungBard!
