“I can’t,” Nite whispered, preparing himself for a hit, or the unnatural pain that came when Teacher was most angry. Neither arrived.
“Who taught you to say that?”
“What?”
“Who taught you to say you can’t?”
“I don’t understand.”
“I didn’t teach you to quit. I didn’t teach you weakness. Did someone else, or do you think you can learn on your own, that you don’t need me any longer?”
Nite swallowed. “Your dragon is too powerful, Teacher. Maybe if I knew your secret way of taming…” the words were bitter in his mouth. Even as he said them, he knew they were wrong.
“Look at me,” Teacher said. Nite did. The man was tall and haughty and proud. Fluid movements and a pair of thin swords. “You don’t have my permission to die, and so there is never a reason for you to give in. I expect you to put your chin up, wipe the sweat out of your eyes, and take the next step. You’ve done worse than this. You’ve done worse than this a hundred times over. Who gave you the right to let it beat you?”
Nite swallowed. “Nobody, Teacher.”
“Then get up and fight. I will not be so lenient if this happens again.”
“Thank you, Teacher.”

Weeping with joy, I arrive for lunch. I order a French dip sandwich, which reminds me of the joy of the real sandwich. I begin talking Platypus into giving me the sandwich. Subtly, of course, as it would be rude to just ask, especially at a lunch with him and Nerdy.

i cannot describe the overwhelming devastation this has wrought upon my soul
i wanted a caterpillar
theyre kinda rare and live on a really specific poisonous plant near alfalfa fields, but only for a couple months
and I was in Paraguay for much of that time

Day two…
um yes this is going to be a very hard year
i think I’ll thrive
but it’s gonna be tough
i’m in three very writing heavy college classes. Communications, English 2010, and philosophy and values. They’re…uh…something special. I’ve got a lot to learn from the people in the classes and the teacher, and I’m really excited, but with CNA and my college bio class there will be many late nights and weekends inside
I usually read the moon classical poetry from my roof at night but I fear I may need to start reading her ancient Chinese philosophy
guys I have 20 chapters of philosophy to read by Monday (they’re super short, but it’s ancient Chinese translated to modern Chinese translated to English and you can tell)
I also have 4 quizzes and two pages for my CNA by tomorrow. And I need to register for 4 classes through uvu (but it’s $5 a credit which is absolutely lovely)
I better be a scudding GENIUS by the end of this year
also I’m the only one from my high school in a lot of my classes and storrrrmmssss some of the guys from other high schools…hehehehehe

and this whole world is going to see me, and i dare it to try to stay the same when I’m done with it
guys, I know a lot of you are struggling. I know there are days when you don’t want to wake up. I know there are nights when you curl up on the bathroom floor, broken in pieces, trying to remember how to breathe, tearing at your hair and itching at the tearstains that never seem to leave.

Day three of being so hot and not around anyone all day
i should’ve stayed home
buuuuuut i went to a bakery and got DIVINE macaroons and a scone
and I picked acorns and made a necklace with them, it’s actually one of the cutest things I’ve ever made I love it
and maybe I can find someone at hxp. Or at least a whole new group of someones.
Speaking of which, Tuesday night I will be disappearing from all technology and going to South America for like three weeks, if you have warnings, prophecies, or assassination plans, speak now. Soon it will be too late.
