13 groans. 4 is going to kill me… He grimaces at the ground. Why does this always happen?

Tal blinked. Some spark of life came back into his eyes. “You…weren’t always a hawk, then?”

It’s completely empty, except for a man with blacker than black hair. “Welcome,” he says, “to The Casino. How may I help you?” No one is inside save for the man behind the counter. “Welcome,” he says, “to The Casino. How may I help you?”

“You have a sister?” Tal asked. “A…nestmate?”

There are no supplies. Nothing stops him. He sees no supplies, but the door opens easily. Inside are several tables, scattered about with cards and dice. A man with blacker than black hair stands behind the counter. “Welcome,” he says, “to The Casino. How may I help you?” He sees none. She didn’t see any metalminds. No supplies at all, in fact.

“Who’s Xin?” Tal asked. His voice was flat and lifeless

The tributes hear laughter as they enter the arena. It echoes for a long moment before fading into the stunningly colorful jungle that surrounds them on every side. It’s warm, and so humid that all the tributes immediately begin sweating. They have no metal minds, no weapons, nothing but themselves. “Welcome,” a voice says, “to our first ever Commemorative Hunger Games! Each of our so-called “tributes” has volunteered and is ready to risk death for the possibility of gold and glory!” In the center, instead of a traditional cornucopia, there sits a single story building. It’s black on every side, and it glitters with what can only be inlaid silver. Each of its four sides has a single door. Another spout of laughter begins, and this time they can tell it’s coming from within. Everyone except for @TheRavenHasLanded, @Wierdo, @The Honorable One, @Unintelligenius, and @Lotus Blossom feels weakened, as if they can’t quite reach their power. Maybe they could, if they pushed, but it would be very draining. In the Gamemaker Headquarters, Gavin was sitting on a couch near his adopted parents. He was smiling pleasantly, though perhaps he watched the screen just a tad too eagerly. Paint was splattered across his hands, which he was absentmindedly scratching away. Alderic stood quietly in a militaristic posture, hands held behind his back. His face was solemn as he watched the screen. Cosette gripped the armrests of her chair tightly, clenching her strong, yet delicate hands on the wood. "Et voilà, le bain de sang commence..." She whispered, staring at the screen. "Et quel spectacle ce sera..." She gave a grim smile and settled back in her chair. Emeric sits beside her, his leg is crossed over the other and he is staring silently at Cosette. He then looks up at the screen and nods. Rekker smiles at Epiphany and then presses one of the many buttons laid out before him, notepad in hand. Gavin glanced at Rekker, frowned in confusion, then looked back at the screen. This wasn't something he wanted to miss. “And now,” the voice continued. “Let’s begin! Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. I just finished a book called Walking on Water by Madeleine L'Engle (the author of A Wrinkle In Time) and loved it, I highly recommend it. It talks about being a christian artist and creating with God. It might not hit as hard to people who don't also love writing, but it was perfect for me.

13 grimaced. "I still didn't agree to this!" He shouts.

It stopped upon reaching the blue. "That's enough," he said. "Thanks," 13 said.

"This isn't what I agreed to!" 13 said firmly. "Fight my way, or don't fight at all. And you still haven't said what exactly I did to you."

13 winced. "That was the one rule I actually specified! No killing, remember!" He glanced around. Eais. I shouldn't have worked so hard to be a brat. "Ah..." he called to the various passerby. "Some help?"

"Ri-ight," 13 said. "Well, seeing as we're playing by different rules, it would be terribly unfair to both of us to continue this way."

13 blinked. "What planet did you say you're from? Because that's definitely not the way it is on my world."

"Wait wait wait," 13 said. "I should have clarified the rules before. I think our ideas of traditional combat are very different."

Wow timezones are extra weird. I think so. Again, it doesn't say time zone on here but I think that's right. If anything, it'll be an hour or two earlier than I'm thinking.

13 glanced at them. "Seriously," he muttered, "what did I do to you?"

Tomorrow is the 20th, but time zones are a big struggle, and there's not really anything to be done about that...sorry.

13 sneered derisively. "Whatever." Then he turned away again, shaking his head. Right. Get the job done. Get out.

The thread will post at 6:04 AM, I'm pretty sure that's EST but it doesn't say, so...tomorrow morning, probably like 12 hours from now but I'm not entirely sure. (Technology is strange and difficult).

13 eyed them suspiciously, then nodded. He glanced at everyone else, winced slightly, then said (in his whiniest voice) "What are you all looking at?"
