I expect you passed the test. How'd it go? How many tries did it take? Get any good advice?
-
Yeah I did, did you?
It took me 2 1/2 on the in water test (but my backboard person was struggling and I had the hardest head guard to rescue), one on the written.
Hmm…for the in water, keep a hand on the tow rope even as you’re swimming down because that makes it easier to pull up, then gloves…fill them up FAST, and then “forget” to get out your mask until after you’ve taken pulse.
Hehe I also just got home-
-
I did.
It took me 2 but also 4. The first one (the one you saw) then 2 others that were just terrible. For whatever reason I kept freaking out and couldn't even get to the bottom of the pool to begin the save. I got it after I took a little to calm down and got some advice from a head guard. I only really count those 2. I passed written first try.
I got advice on how to position the tow rope cause it kept moving and messing me up. I also got really good advice from the head guard that does swim and did/does (I don't know his current mountain bike status) mountain biking. a) Don't worry about the little things. Think about the big picture, and b) The goal isn't to do exactly what we taught you. The goal is to save their life. The ways we taught you are the most efficient ways to do it, but if it works, it works. Those two pieces of advice combined got me through it.
He also told me I did it the fastest.

Oh the guy in singers? Yeah he’s a biker but he’s graduated now. He’s cool.
That’s solid advice. Oh I also kept getting told to move the tube because the person’s airway was in the water.

Platypus, the implication of this is that you're also in this class, but also on the Shard.

Hadestown is next year, right? Do you know if it will be a live orchestral accompaniment? If so, will it be our school's orchestra/band? If this isn't decided yet or is unclear so far, that's fine.

We just took three samples of five examples each, with 300 possibilities (split into options of 950-960, 960-970, 970-980, 980-990, 990-1000, 1000-1010, and 1010-1020). I got the exact same average every time.
I DEFY STATISTICS!

Don't you just hate when this happens?
My opponent got mad cause I had my Roaring Moon set up (2 dragon dances and Protosynthesis Atk) and sweeping. I waited for like 30 seconds before turning on timer. Such a waste of time

...
I have played both
-
Same.
-
I know the other N from a totally unrelated video game.

Alright, two things:
1) Ticket to ride is a great game. Long, but really fun
2) the movie Escape from Germany is a wonderful movie. Everyone should watch it. And if you do, Elder McOmber is my uncle 3-4 times removed (he's the one with the camera). It's a great story, watch all of it including the credits, they have cool facts in them

So stormlight 5's title is abbreviated as WaT. Someone will mess up and abbreviate it as WoT. This could be bad

go read Zechariah 3:8. Stick is a servant of God!

Stick might be a prophet! in Amos 3:7 it says "his servants the prophets." (bold added) we know that Stick is a servant, and it seems that the lord's servants are the prophets, so...
-
The term Branch is referring to Christ.
-
i'm sure it is. on the other hand, it could be stick!

I finished Memory of Light and I'm having an existential crisis.
SPOILERS FOR WHEEL OF TIME:
I don't know how far down I have to go.
This should be fine
Who restarts the Age counter? Like, who will decide that the 4th age is over, but instead of the 5th age, we'll call it the 1st age? How many ages are there? The 4th age seems like it will be an age of legends, but that was the second age. What will happen between the 4th age and the next 3rd age? The Dark One's prison still needs to be sealed at that point for them to break it open, so what would happen? I don't understand. Also, did Rand and Moridin switch bodies? HELP!

Spoiler
Sorry, I got the ages mixed up. I think the Fourth age ends with a war that either causes channeling to be lost or channeling is lost during the Fourth age just through channelers not being born. Either that or there's a bunch more ages, but when you get to the First age there's no channeling, since we know that channeling was rediscovered in the second age.
-
Alriiiight then. I am now having an internal debate into if I want to go to the effort of learning WoT to the level I know cosmere.
SpoilerDo we know for sure each spoke represents an Age? Is that confirmed, or just a theory?

It's an in-universe theory, iirc

Friendly reminder cause I've been feelin it today. It will get better. It's hard now but will get better. For those of you who are Christian, Phillipians 4:13. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." For those of you who are of other religious beliefs, sorry I don't know your scripture. You can also look at this next one. For those of you who are non-religious, the Pattern is balance. There will never be bad without good.
Have a good day for me!

Eddie! I heard you got to state drama! how'd it go? how'd you do?
-
I did! One of our contemporary scenes, done by our Banquo/Peter and one of the witches (hehe I’m good at being subtle) got 2nd, and we had a pantomime and a classical scene make it to finals but nothing else placed.
Our one act also didn’t place…but I disagree very strongly with the judges on it. I saw the one that got 1st, and I understand why the judges chose it, but…I dunno, I guess they value plays that make them feel important over plays that people enjoy and are actually done well and have talented actors?
Heehee I’m bitter but it was a ton of fun!
-
one of the witches... I don't remember who they are I know Banquo though, we were in choir together 2 years ago

I took the ACT today. Hoping for a 36 so I never have to take that bloody, flaming, scudding, sparking, storming, rusting, light-blasted test ever again

They do, but ah…
I might not be a junior…
-
Sophomore?
I was homeschooled and iirc, you can pay to register for taking the test online. Can’t remember the website though.
-
they offer it junior year. That's the random Wednesday we got off in the middle of March. if you want to take it, I think you can sign up at myact.org by creating an account. Talk to your parents about it and they'll probably be able to help you out

I've made my personal leaderboard!
SpoilerIn other news, my cousin was in his school's production of the Hunchback of Notre Dame last night. He was Quasimoto and both he and the play were really good. I'd never seen it before, it was beautiful. I'm reminded of a cross between Aladin, Tangled, and Les Mis.

I just learned about sidereal time and now my head hurts.
-
to all of you people in orchestra (and the people not in it, but slightly less so) go listen to Saint Paul's Suite. especially the 4th movement. We just played it in class. My arm hurts now, but it sounds good(ish)!
