"Apparently." He sighed. "Why is it you've chosen to sit next to me again?" @RoyalBeeMage

"What happened?" Lerac asked, looking at the further destruction and the ashes and flowers surrounding him. @Spark of Hope

It appeared that that measure would not prove necessary. Without warning, Lerac sat up.

Terrance quickly averted his eyes to make sure there was no eye contact. He did not return the smile or wave.

Terrance continued to observe Jace.

Nothing changed.

Eventually, a general aura of warmth about him that she hadn't even noticed was there died. Its absence left behind a distinct feeling of cold. The flowers no longer grew.

Her hands healed immediately, a wave of his healing energy hitting her. It was hard to tell if he had a pulse.

She succeeded. Oddly, he seemed completely undamaged by the flames, even though he had definitely been burning. Some flowers began growing around him again through the ashes, though more slowly than before.

Lerac and the dried-out plants around him had caught fire.

Terrance watched, somewhat glad for the distraction from Jace's question.

"I don't care if you stay here or leave."

"I don't care."

Terrance didn't answer. He didn't really have an answer, but mainly he just didn't feel like discussing these things with a stranger.

"Not particularly."

He remained still. His mind was still somewhere else, slowly processing several times more pain than it would take to leave any normal person permanently scarred.

He wasn't moved much, as he was completely engulfed in plants.
