  1. Here's your WOB on this exact subject
  2. I think that would negate any use it would have at all. A regular Duralumin/Nicrosil burst uses up all your power in seconds, supercharging it even further would further compress the power, yes, but would make it be used up so quick that you probably wouldn't even notice it before it was gone.
  3. Here's one. Herald of the Almighty "Insert name here" Level: Don't Strength: Worry/Speed: About/Intelligence: The/Willpower: Numbers/Prescence: Just/Awareness: Run I kid of course. I guess it wouldn't be out of the question for all of them to have a minimum of 5 or more in every stat, and at least one stat being 10 or above for their 'specialty' stat, like Taln having 10 Strength or higher. They are meant to be pretty much Demigods, and we've only seen glimpses of just how powerful they really are with Nale using his 'True Skills' to instantly put Kaladin on his ass and Taln beating the crem out of a ton of Fused with his bare hands and breaking the sound barrier without Surges or Stormlight. Maybe give them some kind of special skill on their stat sheet that gives them a big buff in most of their stats, not out of them getting stronger, just them deciding to get serious. Edit: On second thought, wouldn't it make sense for all of them, sans Taln, to have a low Will stat? Their whole thing is that they all broke from torture on Braize, and that they've all gone crazy. So, all of them besides Taln having Will as a dump-stat makes sense doesn't it?
  4. I don't see why not, the Physical Spren would exist as Physical beings, like humans and Singers. So an Honorspren becoming Physical, then Bonding another Honorspren and becoming a Windrunner wouldn't be out of the question. Unless the transition from a Cognitive being to a Physical one has some really weird effects on their ability to form Connections, or if their existence would drive Spren away from them, like how the Stormfather was very not happy with what Ishar did and how WOB states that Spren would be much less likely to bond with people who have Hemalurgic Spikes in them.
  5. They'd have to live long enough for that. Maybe Regrowth and a ton of Stormlight could keep them alive long enough to try Bonding? Technically we've already seen a Spren bond other Spren, at the climax of WaT Notum, an Honorspren, became one of the Unoathed and Bonded a Shardblade and Shardplate. Not a Nahel Bond, but still a Bond nonetheless.
  6. I suppose so, I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work and it does indeed sound interesting. Vin was pretty scrawny, which made her faster and able to jump pretty high, though she wouldn't have been as strong as a brawny Thug, just more agile. Though considering that, according to a quick google search, your limbs only make up around 16-18% of your total body mass, the concentrated boost might not be very large. Also, if we go to just how much the power could possibly be concentrated within a smaller body mass, Thugs with Dwarfism sound terrifying.
  7. The Immortal Words can be pretty subjective at times, how you personally interpret them can differ from others of your order. Though an Edgedancer is meant to 'Remember those that others forget', so an Edgedancer that is cursed to never remember those that they save would be deeply ironic, though so long as they aren't intentionally forgetting the downtrodden and still strive to help them I think your character can still uphold their oaths, though they'd struggle. I suggest putting some chips aside to buy some notes and writing supplies so your character can write down all thse that they helped save. Could even be a plot point where the book is stolen and your character becomes desperate to save the book so they don't forget and maybe end up putting other people's lives at risk for it.
  8. Maybe, but that would be a bit disappointing. "Hey guys! This super cool macguffin that the entire campaign is based around is called the Spike of Eternity! What does it do? It doesn't lose it Hemalurgic charge over time! What power does it give? I dunno, Coinshot powers? What do you mean that's 'anti-climactic?" Kandra lifespan is weird, a Mistwraith only lives 50 years, but Kandra live pretty much forever. Its probably because of their shapeshifting or something. Maybe if you completely store away your Identity if you get spiked with a Lerasium Spike, then tapped a bunch of gold after, the Identity and Attributes of the Lerasium spike might lead to you shapeshifting into the 'Donor' perhaps? The most convoluted and wasteful way of shapeshifting in the entire Cosmere.
  9. Probably not, Arcanists by Era 2 already know how to circumvent the over time Decay. Implied to be by covering spikes with aluminum. There is a WOB that states that anything that can be stored with Feruchemy, can also be stolen with Hemalurgy, so it could be possible for a Spike to steal Youth to increase one's total lifespan. Though that would only make you live roughly twice as long, not very Eternal if you ask me. Imagine if it was a Lerasium Spike. Total waste of its primary use, but also still kind of useful for decent all around boost.
  10. What I think is going to be fun is the other Brand's opinion that Adhesion isn't a 'True Surge' being thrown back in their face. Also I'm more partial to their Brand being called the 'Binded Ones' myself. Also also, since they'd be a much newer Brand, they wouldn't have the same level of finesse and Savantism that the other Fused have with their Surges. And Physical Adhesion isn't all too useful on its own. So what if, just spitballing, Taravangian decides to make up for this by giving Adhesion Fused some Bondsmith abilities, like creating temporary Spiritual Bonds. Obviously it wouldn't be to the same extent as actual Bondsmiths due to a lack of Tension and a Godspren Bond, but even simple Connection Shenanigans could still be really fun.
  11. Because they were able to use it to fuel their Allomancy and it was compared as being the same as the Dor Jars. If it was Autonomy-Flavored Investiture then they probably wouldn't have been able to use it for the same reasons that an Allomancer couldn't use another Shard's Investiture directly like Stormlight. Plus, Autonomy's Investiture has the properties of repelling other types of Investiture like Trellium, there's no reason to expect that a liquid form of it would not have the same properties, so an Autonomy Pool would probably push itself away from Allomancer's from trying to use it.
  12. Allomancy horror stories? Sounds fun, here's one. I'm going to call it "The Man Who Broke Time" A Slider uses his Speedbubbles constantly, for every aspect of his life. From taking breaks from doing paperwork at his job, to taking naps in the middle of annoying conversations with his wife, even up to getting out having to interact with his children. He uses his power as an escape from all of life's troubles, having all the time he wants to himself whenever he feels like it. Then one day, he decides that he wants to have even more time to himself, so he began to push his power even further, flaring his Bendalloy all the time, until one day, he succeeded in the middle of his wife finally divorcing him for his laziness and neglect. Time seemed to stop, his Bubble became solid crystal around just him. At first he cheered at his success, to making time itself bend to his will, until he realized that his Bendalloy had stopped burning, but the Bubble still remained, he tried to simply step outside the bubble, but he couldn't, for his Speedbubble had become as hard as steel, he couldn't leave it nor drop it. He began to panic, he screamed for his wife to help him, but she hadn't moved at all, her face still contorted into frustration at him. He clawed at the walls that surrounded him and he realized what he must have done. He had pushed time so hard it broke, and now he was trapped in the time he'd wanted for himself, all alone. For eternity. Just came up with all that on the fly, it's a very exaggerated story with it's moral being about Savantism and how you shouldn't do it or something.
  13. I doubt it, since all that Investiture was just Unkeyed from any source, and was likely sourced from the Dor like the other Jars were. I think at most it might have brought them all a step or two closer to Savantism, but other than that I doubt much is going to happen to them, the power is likely much less then the Well of Ascension and was even split up amongst over a dozen people, so I doubt it would result in Slivers or Cognintive Shadows since the power wasn't stored into them, it was channeled through them and fueled their powers then was used up. As for the Bands? Also doubt it, it gave them a new perspective of power and souls and whatnot, but other than that? Not much. The Metallic Arts don't cause immediate changes to the soul when supercharged, besides Hemalurgy that is.
  14. If it was possible to store raw, Unkeyed Investiture like the Dor jars or Stormlight into a Metalmind, then I don't think that the former two would be such a big deal to the Ghostbloods. They would already have a monopoly on Investiture across the Cosmere if they could just Compound Investiture that could power any Invested Art. The only real usage we've seen with F-Nicrosil is with the Unsealed Medallions and the Bands of Mourning, and they both functioned in different ways with the Bands running out of power with use like a regular Metalmind being tapped, and the Medallions being, as per WOB, "Like a Coppermind, where something discrete is taken, used, then put back". We also know that the Medallions are 'A little more restrictive' then real Soulbearers in some way. I'm willing to bet that this is because a real Soulbearer can tap at lower and higher rates, instead of being like a Coppermind, so a Soulbearer Twinborn could amplify their Allomancy by storing it into a Nicrosilmind, then tapping it. Adonalsium damnit, I cannot wait for Brandon to finally show that document about the Malwish tech he's promised to release since TLM, I'd hoped it would have been during Dragonsteel Nexus 2025, but I guess not. Maybe in the Mistborn part of the Cosmere RPG? Here's hoping...
  15. Only if you are too heavily injured or exhaust yourself to death, which would be easier to avoid if you aren't in some kind of war. In a more relaxed life with a less risky career, like construction or something, Pewter Savantism wouldn't be too big of a problem so long as you were aware of it and looked after yourself properly.
  16. Now the next question is what Kandra Blessing would you all pick? There's no real choice for me except for the Copper Blessing, because it not only gives resistance to Hemalurgic Control, an invaluable trait on its own, but also, oh you know, literally makes you smarter. It helps you focus, prevents insanity, improves memory. God I would love to have two bits of metal that just improve every aspect of my brain.
  17. I'm a fan of immortality, plus Kandra Shapeshifting has quite a bit of untapped potential, so heck yeah I wanna be a sentient pile of goopy flesh that eats bones.
  18. People with too many powers, like Mistborn, don't have observable Resonances due to too many powers mixing together. I think you're confusing Savantism and Resonances as being more closely linked than they are, you don't need to be a Savant in two powers to gain a Resonance, the Windrunners have more Squires even if they've only recently gained their abilities for example. As for Multi-Power Savants, the Lord Ruler was said by WOB to be a Savant with every metal, so you can do that. Now whether you would enjoy that is another thing altogether, we already know what happened with Spook after all. And Pewter Savantism doesn't seem beneficial to a long life either if you're living dangerously.
  19. The main issue is that Yelig-Nar eats your soul, and can only be held back for any length of time by willpower. A non-sentient Mistwraith wouldn't last long even if they could be a Host for Yelig-Nar.
  20. I guess Elend probably wouldn't be terribly happy about the corruption in the senate as of Era 2, though with some people like Marasi and the other guy from SoS that I can't remember the name of, with people like them able to become governor he might feel a lot more hopeful about this system as yes it's not perfect by any means. But at least it isn't a complete dead end either and has room to grow. It allows common people a chance to have their say, and that's the important part. I bet Elend would not do anything to the government, even if his return could easily allow him much sway over it, but I'm pretty sure that would go against what he tried to fight for in the first place, a government that doesn't need a king to rule. He might work subtly, through an alias perhaps, give some good people some support. But I doubt he'd try and pull off a kind of Second Coming of his own. He's smarter than that.
  21. There is a pretty bad rilvalry between Skybreakers and Windrunners, due to their differing approaches to being lawful or good and all that. What I'm more surprised by is the lack of any mention of the relationship between Skybreakers and Willshapers, because that sounds even worse with the Willshapers advocating freedom above all else. Surely the Skybreakers, at least the modern extremist ones, would view Willshapers as good-for-nothing anarchists.
  22. Well, practically speaking Harmony and his inability to act would probably make him the safest Shard for her to hang around, for now anyway.
  23. Interesting, but being controlled by Ruin didn't grant the Inquisitors or Koloss any additional abilities, even though Connection to Preservation is what grants Allomancy. Would Allomancy technically count as a Nahel Bond with Perseveration? Anyway, so there are almost definitely different kinds of Bonds, not all Bonds lead to Nahel. Now that is a very interesting extrapolation. Though it would likely require a very powerful Emotional Allomancer, likely burning Duralumin, because Spren are literally all Investiture, and its said by WOB that the Susebron with his 50,000+ Breaths would be much more resistant to Emotional Allomancy than an average person just because of how Invested he is. But if it is doable, then yeah that might be a way to force the Nahel Bond and even make it grant more powers at once. Heck, you could use this to Spike multiple Spren with bunch of extra powers to grant, control them, then have them all Bond you at once and gain even more powers, since the only thing stopping Surgebinders from having multiple Bonds in practice is the consent of the Spren. Lesser spren might be tricky though, since Emotional Allomancy requires Sapience in the WOB you showed, and Lesser Spren might not be sapient enough compared to Radiant Spren. I assume a limitation to this method is that you probably wouldn't be able to progress your oaths to far if you are genuinely not a good fit for a particular order, like if you force Bonded the Highspren from your example, but were a law-breaking anarchist, you probably wouldn't be getting a Shardblade anytime soon if at all. Plus, even with the most powerful Emotional Allomancer, even with a full on Shard controlling someone with twenty spikes, the control is not absolute, and the Bond is dependent on the Spren's consent, so more stubborn unwilling ones could try and try to break the Bond anyway if they decided that being a Deadeye was preferable to being a slave, which could lead to you losing out on all those extra powers. Unless a Spiked up Deadeye could still grant powers?
  24. Metalborn Bonding? I don't think we've ever seen a Nahel Bond be made with two humans, so far one participant of the bond is distinctly non-human. Whether it be a Splinter or a Bird. If you're referring to how powerful Emotional Allomancy can let an Allomancer gain control over a Hemalurgic Construct like a Koloss, and form a Connection that allows for control even without burning metals, then that leads to an interesting question. What is Hemalurgic Control compared to a proper Nahel Bond? A Nahel Bond is described as a linking of spirits, bonding on a spiritual level. Hemalurgic Control, I believe has been described in WOB as "Knocking on someone's Cognitive Mind". And while it is confirmed to be possible to accomplish if one Compounds Spiritual Connection, I still don't believe it is the same thing as a proper Nahel Bond, since it seems to be more of a Cognitive Bond than a Spiritual Bond. Spirits aren't being linked in a deep, fundamental way, cognitive minds weakened through holes in the spiritweb are being dominated through abilities that cause cognitive pressure. Now something that might be more plausible is making an Aviar Hemalurgic Construct that possesses more Talents, or a Spren given more Surges from other Spren, and bonding with that instead. So, you could have Aviar that grant multiple Talents or a Spren that grants multiple Surges to you without needing to spike yourself and leave yourself open to external influence. Maybe you could even give an Aviar or Spren Metalborn powers and perhaps gain those powers by bonding them as well? Combining the Nahel Bond with Hemalurgy does sound like a path to much greater power, rather than just stealing a Bond which would be far more complex and by WOB, would require you to use two spikes to get one power. Not a great deal.
  25. The Scadrians already have to make use of Rosharan Anti-Grav tech for their ships, as per Starling's observations after Dajer's boasting of Scadrian technology being the best in the Cosmere. So being forced to reach out to other sources for tech isn't out of possibility.
