  1. You start with action, and that's good. Keep writing, and get your story written before edtiting the whole thing.
  2. Well, yes, I have, a couple times....but it was lonnnng ago. And a beautiful spring day. NHIE eaten glue.
  3. We just finished watching ALL the films. I don't care for the way the final scenes in the last Hallows film were handled; they were dark, confusing, and much better done in the book, without the prolonged CGI snake battle. I prefer the book's ending, when Harry visits Dumbledore's portrait in the office and uses the Elder Wand to repair his own, then replaces the Elder Wand in Dumbledore's tomb. I did, however appreciate Malfoy's transformation from a one-note, smirking bully to a terrified youth who found he had bitten off more than he could chew. Well-done in both book and films. And a personal beef about trimming Crookshanks' role in the films (though I can see why), and omitting Pigwidgeon, Ron's new owl.
  4. When Sailors are good they are very, VERY good. Lots of nibmeisters to choose from, but some have long wait times. Hope the pen comes back in fine fettle.
  5. Staggering around for lack of sleep.
  6. The feedback should be pencil-like, with a slight, pleasant hiss. Yes, a nibmeister could probably set it right.
  7. Ohhhhh. That's not right. Sailor nibs should not look like that AND the tines appear to be a little bent to one side. Is there any chance of returning this or exchanging it for one that doesn't have these problems?
  8. Avid reader of short stories and everything else since childhood. I liked Bradbury, classic sci-fi anthologies, even those anthologies they made us read in grade school.
  9. Loved the ORIGINAL book series, and the first two films. The other films had their good points but seemed to lose the heart of the story in overblown special effects. And Umbridge was truly evil, not a semi-comedic figure. Bad scripting of a good actress. I am in fact revisiting the entire film series now. Up to Azkaban today.
  10. There was a time when actors, even college theater students, were trained in swordplay. I guess that is no longer the usual.
  11. Not liking the films is a little different from mixed feelings. Some things were very well done. The actors were fantastic. Some of the re-writes, eh.
  12. I know! And look what I used to be able to do (in crow quill with India ink). That was decades ago. It's all gone now, any ability I had. What Syn says about practice is absolute truth.
  13. I sympathize. When you find yourself in this situation, take baby steps. Write five minutes at a time, even if it is repeating 'I can't think of anything to write.' Read something that sets you on fire (not literally, of course!) Having suffered from Writer's Burnout multiple time, I can say that sometimes you really DO need to take a break. (From an old-timer who must have written several novels worth of words by now).
  14. Great! I love the WS pison fillers, and have the 008, 009, and recently the 3011 (it has a Pilot-style nib). Meanwhile, since no one talked me out of buying a Lamy Aion, it just arrived. It's a good-looking pen and writes beautifully and being second-hand, was almost half the price of a new one.
  15. They don't let them leave. Perhaps the townspeople lock up the duo, to prevent them leaving. And they then have to escape. And then another problem pops up, and they have to solve that one….and so on.
  16. Thanks. I just closed my eyes, crossed my fingers, and used the coverter to jam the feed back. It's loaded with Iroshizuku Syo Ro now, and finally writing again.
  17. When I can smell someone's perfume from ten feet away.
  18. I was never in a marching band, but you don't by any chance mean the time signature?
  19. All right, then! Offered: one bottle of unopened Chelpark ink. I think the label says Sapphire Blue. CONUS only, PM me if you want this Chelpark ink. I really doubt it's a batch of that sought-after Penman Ink. The bottle's different. Meanwhile, I'm glumly obssessed with Parker 45s. I accidentally pulled the feed right out of my Ariel Kullock 45 when cleaning it this morning. Hope I can set it right.
  20. First drafts of all my stories and poems. I've read all the posts, and I hope your fountain pen and writing journey is going well! The Preppy blue black cartridge ink is very dry, but I love the color. One BB cart stripped the blue plating off the nib of my Fine Preppy, which made me suspect it was an iron gall ink. Plus, I mean, the EF nibs are PRETTY fine. I think I have at least one of those. If I remember, they come in .05, .03, and .02. Does this help? Change of subject here too: Are we allowed to give away pens/inks in the forum? I have an unopened bottle of Chelpark Blue and heard rumors that these were actually Parker inks.
  21. I looked at it again. You're right!
  22. North American exclusive Carnelian, but it's also translucent. Thanks!
  23. Ha ha! I understand; want want want the almost-unobtainium orange Platinum 3776 from way back. Is there any way you could post a close-up of the gap in your Sailor's nib?
  24. Sailor nibs should 'sing,' or hiss, and feel somewhat pencil-y, but not scratchy. Are the tines misaligned?
