  1. Woe is me: I have my eye on a $50-60 brass DIP nib. I don't even spend that much on a complete fountain pen these days. It goes from hairline to paintbrush, and I will use the nib for writing with glitter inks.
  2. In other fountain pen, writing-related news, I did NOT finish NaNo…but eons ago, on a typewriter, I wrote a Three Day Novel. It came out about like you'd expect.
  3. A. It is no longer being made. B. My Sinister nature precludes the use of slow-drying paper. C. WHAT happened to my beloved font size selection?
  4. I'm almost happy I can't really use it!
  5. Thanks. I asked because I wanted an ink for sketching, with a watercolor wash. Oh, well… I do have Evil Green Gator.
  6. Nice array. Is the Bad Belted Kingfisher waterproof?
  7. I'm glad I got some Cosmo when it was still selling. Pens and inks of the month? That's tough. I'm going to need a Christmas red and green. The green with probably be Monteverde Yosemite, and a Monteverde red to go along. Both will be in TWSBIs so I can see how much ink's in fhere. I don't know about other favorites at the moment. Heyyyy. The font size disappeared, popped up again, and now disappeared. Thanks for keeping the thread alive!
  8. I bought a book at a yard sale, got it home, and it's about NaNo! PS: Book title: No Plot? No Problem!
  9. But they're only first drafts.
  10. I can't listen to music while writing. And I don't know if I belong here, even though I am working on a novel, becausemit was a completed draft before. Oh hooray! Font size is back, but I noticed too late. I often hallucinate writing entire stories.
  11. If it was me, taking it back is what I would do. The nib AND feed popped out of my first Platinum 3776, and I panicked until it slid back in. No problems since. But since it is clear there were problems from the start with your pen, I'd say let the store deal with it.
  12. What pen are we talking about? Was it expensive? Does it write now?
  13. From a tablet, I can't see where to change the font size, but the default size is too tiny.
  14. Schon's! Don't sue me if your pen explodes?….
  15. Why such a scary disclaimer?
  16. Everything iz differenty! How I make font bigger? Went to 5 Below again, picked up two packs of all-but-disposable fountain pens. They feel cheeeeep. But they write, more or less. One pack comes with a highlighter on the other end. Some of the nibs are misaligned. But they are good for experiments.
  17. Don't know, but since I evidently did it before, it might be okay now.
  18. Stay strong, @Kasimir! Something funny: I thought about lubing the piston of my Reform calligraphy pen. Looked on teh innerwebz for guidelines. What did I find? This very thread. Saying I had successfully managed the job. But I never said HOW.
  19. Yay! I now have upward of 20 pens, some inks, and a notebook in my Pen PIF. Still also working that orange ink out of a Jinhao 992.
  20. And I was thinking of Lucky Orange next…
  21. Siiighhhhh....yes, I am keeping the Platinum. Once loaded and given a light touch, it's all right. But I also went on a pen and ink giveaway rampage. So far I have maybe a dozen pens and as many inks/cartridges. They will have to be sorted of course, and probably sent in two packages to whomever, or two whomevers. In other news, cleaning a Jinhao 992 of orange ink has already taken three days.
  22. Sounds like a design flaw, the way early TWSBIs were prone to cracking.
  23. Lol, I use them to remove the paddle that always gets stuck in the bread machine loaf.
  24. Got mine from Amazon, too. Just run a search for Chinese piston filling pens, and a lot will come up. WS has a whole bunch of numbered series, and some other brands will also come up.
  25. I keep dip-testing the Platinum. There are 30 days to decide, but this is scratchier than I was hoping for; might as well use a Preppy or Plaisir. I was hoping for better; love my Platinum 3776 M so much that it hasn't been de-inked since I got it years ago.
