  1. I have 3 retractable pens: 2 Moon Man and a Jinhao 10. Guess which doesn't like to start. The Jinhao is notorious for that. I hear you need to load a very wet ink, like Iroshizuku. Good luck with it.
  2. Even though I vowed not to buy another pen, this Jinhao 10 made its way to my wish list.
  3. Neither, Kasimir; I can't use them. It was Amazon, where for me, returns are easy. Dadao are HUGE handsome pens, and lightweight, so I really wanted one. We'll see if the latest specimen writes. Still can't reply to anything from a mobile! I should try contacting admins from here.
  4. My current favorite notebooks are Apica. Kokuyo Campus also. Readily available. Not costly. I bought three Jinhao Dadao in a row...the first, black, M, was clearly used, and refused to write. The second (F) barely does. But it was supposed to be black...nope, it's dark blue. Got a green M. Cross your fingers! Catching up here after being locked out, unable to sign in from mobile,or create new profile, and unable even to contact admins.
  5. I really don't know… but I call it The Hockey Puck, 'cause that's what the base looks like.
  6. I have a very nice (Esterbrook) desk pen, but it's a dipper.
  7. I have two, both M nib. Pretty nice.
  8. The Broad Tuzu writes a little dry. And I'm using a Sailor ink (Yurameku Suki Gokoro). The pen's weight is right and it feels good in the hand. But I still think $50 is a bit overpriced.
  9. The shaped section pulls out with some fiddling and with that, you can 'adjust' which direction the nib points. Look for the short Sailor promo video which shows someone actually adjusting it. I had also bought a fine, and had to return it for egregious scratchiness. I have more than one Sailor with fine nib, and none are scratchy. But after all, I had wanted a Tuzu, and I'm okay with this B nib.
  10. The B writes okay…and it's comfortable to hold, but the whole pen seems like a $20 pen with a gimmick, that sells for $50.
  11. Got the gray Tuzu, and the ink is called Suki Gokoro….from the Sailor color-shifting line.
  12. I went nuts and bought a new Sailor 'magic' ink, and a Tuzu to put it in.
  13. Tsubasa etc? I had two DVDs of this series but no more….didn't see whether there was an actual end.
  14. Interesting project. How will you do it?
  15. Could you post a photo of the pen? And also the nib? That'll help too.
  16. The Penmanship is the one that's plastic with a short, threaded cap, yes? I think I have one. Any eyedropper blobs when the ink level is low enough…all but my Recife Crystal.
  17. What brand of pen? How does it load: cartridge/converter or piston? What type/brand of ink? These answers will help diagnose the problem (I'm in the middle of repairing a 'problem child' pen now). And welcome aboard!
  18. Lots of pens inked. I'm afraid to count. Right now I'm in love with cheep Chinese Clicky pens. Some have no name but I also have a set of Luoshi, a couple Mura, and Cobee.
  19. @Edema Rue… Better handwriting? Work on simple letter forms. Keep enough breathing space between letters and words. Keep slant consistent. This from someone who got trapped after school to 'force' me to write legibly. I do now, no thanks to the school. Not at all scratchy! Just so soft and so fine it's a delicate operation. It hasn't been de-inked since I bought it.
  20. I have a Platinum SF which needs such a light touch I almost can't handle it.
  21. That's a shame. I'm thinking plants, though… I have a number of WS piston (and other) pens with the Pilot-look nibs. None are scratchy.
  22. I think there was some Bank paper in a Jetpens paper sampler…don't they warn it's not intended for fountain pens? Tried it anyway.
  23. It seems that I forgot to mention buying the InkVent 2022 Edition (last year's model, discounted, fleabay). Opening each little 'door' and testing each ink daily was fun.
  24. Yyesssss….I did get that brass dip nib, and it is the Swiss Army knife of nibs. Though I decided that it's too good for glitter ink. Still waiting for my FONT SIZE to return.
  25. The selection for font size disappeared, then appeared, now is gone again.
