  1. What a thorough theory! It seems like a terrifyingly solid plan to destroy Harmony and Scadrial. I'm just glad we already know that there's going to be an Era 3 and 4! According to the book blurb, it would seem that Trell may be invested in Bilming at least.
  2. That's just Wayne's internal nicknames for them. Their actual names are Garisel and Call.
  3. I can't wait to see what professional sports will look like in era 3. My meta-gaming brain, however, immediately started to think of how teams would min/max their Metalborn. I really enjoy the science-y chapters, though I know they aren't everyone's cup of (spiked) tea. Hypothesizing and expanding knowledge on the inner workings of the Cosmere is my jam. I loved those in RoW for the same reasons.
  4. Yeah, it's poetic. God metals are a manifestation of the respective god's Investiture in the Physical Realm. In terms of a regular person, the body is in the Physical, the mind is in the Cognitive, and the spirit is obviously in the Spiritual Realm. In Era 1, Ruin wanted to find the atium stash because, as a manifestation of his power, it was locked in the Physical. He needed to consume it so that power would return to him in the Spiritual and allow him to overwhelm whoever was holding Preservation and destroy Scadrial.
  5. Could be Galladon. Oooh, or Khriss/Nazh...that'd be fun.
  6. Zu? That's a far-fetched yet interesting theory. The glowing cracks in the armour are reminiscent of the skin of a Peakspren in the Cognitive Realm. From the Peakspren article on The Coppermind: Of course, the armour is not comprised of the radiant spren but perhaps it's a cousin spren which has similar "skin" effects?
  7. Donning my aluminum foil hat and jumping right in. What if Trell is the child of Odium and Autonomy? Like how the Sibling is the child of Honor and Cultivation. Either created before Odium was locked on Braize or later if Autonomy (or an Avatar) snuck into the Rosharan system. I'm not certain of the process of "conceiving" a Shardbaby but I imagine it involves merging large Splinters of each Shard's respective Investiture. Now, where would the name Trell come from? As mentioned, a minor character in White Sand bears this name and forms the of name appear as well, meaning it holds significance on Taldain. Then either these names are in reference (reverence?) to the Splinter or perhaps the Splinter was picked up by a vessel whose name was Trell.
  8. An interesting theory but I have a hard time believing that Kelsier would turn against Sazed like that. They certainly don't see eye-to-eye anymore but Saze was part of the crew.
  9. The only problem I have is convincing my wife that I need to drop $$$ on leatherbounds. Oof. I have to pick just one? It changes depending on my mood. From the Cosmere: Sazed, Wayne, Steris, Marsh, Dalinar, The Lopen, Pattern, Hoid, Vasher, Lightsong, Raoden, Nightblood.
  10. Hi, I'm Arkangel and I am a Brandon Sanderholic. My story begins Christmas 2020 when a friend gifted me the mass market paperback box set of the first three Stormlight books. She hadn't read them herself but had heard good things and they seemed right up my alley. After sitting on my shelf for half a year, I finally cracked into The Way of Kings in the summer and, from that moment on, my life has changed for the better. In just over a year, I have consumed all of the published Cosmere and have started into Brandon's non-Cosmere works. I am excited to join this community of like-minded fans!
