I don`t remember anything from dawnshard disproving his theory. What am I missing?
-
Probably for Rosharans the honorblades are a kind of shardblade, just more powerfull (except for the shin they might not even know they are more powerful) - They also call Azure`s blade a shardblade. Given the death rattles are sometimes slightly simbolic honorblades could easily count as shardblades for them.
-
This idea reminded me of a scene in the end of Oathbringer where Dalinar counts the radiants present - he counts to 9 an has a feeling that there sould be 10 (the 10th is acctually Venli but he doesn`t know about her). Maybe this is some foreshadowing for the future heralds: Dalinar, Kaladin, Shallna, Jasnah, Renarin, Venli, Szeth, Taln, Shalash and Lift. I have no idea how Dalinar will be able to enter this if he lost the contest of champions so maybe Navani does need to replace him. Also, I don`t know if Taln and Shalash are in a state to reHerald themselfs, and Lift is probably to young to take such a decision (unless being a herald will no longer contain torture).

You could stay young for longer periods of time without needing to fill the metalmind by behind old.

Maraga also mention "bug men" as an example of "whimsical story" in chapter 33 - Prabably a reference to sleepless (originally I thought this is unlikely but some freinds convinced me thi sounds to close to be a coincidence).
-
Ohhh, So it is not confirmed. It does sounds like a good theory but as it is only based on Harmony unable to locate them it is far from certain.
-
When did we found out about that? is that from the new spoiler stream?
-
This is not confirmed. It can also mean that they believe each recruit from the 17-shard is very valuable, or that it is does not take a lot to approach a 17-shard member.
-
It does not mean most ghostbloods are former-17th-shards. We know they had success with Iyatil. This WoB just says they approach 17th-shards to recruite them, it does not mean they succeeded in big numbers.
-
Do we know that? I knew that Iyatil was from the 17th shard and that the ghostbloods try to recruite their members but I always thought that the probably succeeded only in a small number of times.
-
Cryptics are the representation of the natural laws of the universe - those laws contains (or use) irrational numbers but the cryptics are not only irrational numbers.
-
It probably wont change them that much as the are sapient themselfs so their own self perception would be much more ompactfull than the human`s perception.

Frustration's Firepower Index: Roshar, updated for Wind and Truth
offer replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
They also probably have the best military strategists in the cosmere, as the Alethi practiced it a lot... while other planets (I think specifically on Scadrial) have no experience in large scale wars. They also control probably the best source of investiture in the cosmere. While they can`t use surges off-world, if they will get other allies they could give them a very valuable resource. -
The Sleepless Reformation of Adonalsium (TLM Update)
offer replied to GreyHive's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In chapter 33 Maraga (the journalist who that investigated the set) references "bug men" as a crazy her newspaper published (or might publish). Maybe this is a stroy that originated from sighting of the sleepless, so it might mean there are sleepless on Scadrial. *It might also be unrelated story someone imagined. -
Brandon said that Adonalsium could have been shattered differently. We don`t know what affected the way it shattered.

What should I read aside from Mistborn before Lost Metal?
offer replied to Mistbreaker's topic in General Brandon Discussion
There is some plot point in SA that will be spoiled if you read TLM before it but in my opinion it is not a major spoiler and you can read TLM before SA. There are some references to SA things in TLM that you won`t understand but they are not relevant to the plot and are not required to enjoy the book. -
Hypotheses on Timeline of First desolation. (RHYTHM OF WAR SPOILERS)
offer replied to Zacharis's topic in Stormlight Archive
OK, Now I understand you I still don`t agree because I don`t think the singers will forget such a rhytm -they seems to intuitevly be able to attune to rhythms (some of them they need a connection to a shard for this) and it is not something they learn so I don`t think they can forget it. But I understand your position and it is also possible.- 14 replies

Hypotheses on Timeline of First desolation. (RHYTHM OF WAR SPOILERS)
offer replied to Zacharis's topic in Stormlight Archive
So you think that even modern singers can learn to do this in any form? I think it is unlikely to work this way but it is possible. My theory is that the singers had a special form (probably with a radiant spren) that allowed them to stoneshape. Then when the spren decided to no longer bond singers and start bonding humans (according to Leshwi probably because the were mad at the singers for unknown reason) the singer society collapsed because the could no longer create tools. This caused the singers to ask Odium for forms of powers so the could survive.- 14 replies

I don`t understand you. You agree that there was a form (=bond with a spren) that allowed the singers to shape stones but then you say the singers could not have been using it?- 14 replies

Hypotheses on Timeline of First desolation. (RHYTHM OF WAR SPOILERS)
offer replied to Zacharis's topic in Stormlight Archive
We don`t see them doing this in the modern times and when Venli does it the stones says it was a long time since it was done (but maybe they meant only done in Urithiru). So something changed that caused the singers to stop doing it. The right type of spren no more bonding with them is (in my opinion) the clear answer.- 14 replies

We know they did some singing to stones to shape things so the restriction did not include everything.- 14 replies

I understood that not as cosmere invested but us Harmony gives him the responsibility of talking to people before they pass to the beyond. About the stories about him: Khriss says that maybe it is just normal rumors and I think it is the likely explanation - There are Scadrian worldhoppers in a lot of other planets and it is likely they bring stories about a guy/demi-god that talks to people before they die.

This is a really intersting idea. I am most interested in trying to find out what honor maybe lied about. Lets start! I think that for something like this we need to see some hints, someone that that told has the truth (or parts/hints of it) but we did not understand or did not believe. My first thought was Ishar - so I start looking at exactly what he told Dalinar so we can see if maybe his claim contains hints of truth. I reread chapter 111 of ROW (Dalinar meets Ishar) and I did not find something very usefull. The liitle I find maybe intersting there are Ishar claimng that Dalinar corrupted the spren to have false radiants: The main thing that might contain a hint of truth here is that the spren and the radiants are corrupted and helping Odium`s plan. Later in the chapter Ishar tries to steals Dalinar connection to the stormfather ("So. The enemy corrupted the stormfather too." [...] " I will take this bond to the stormfather. I will bear it myself.") and feels that Dalinar has connection to Odium and Odium sees Dalinar as the one who will fight against him ("This cannot be right. I will take this bond as well."). In Ishar`s moment of sanity he tells Dalinar to come to shinovar where he has a way to "fix the problems that beset us." and to reset the oathpact. So my crazy theory is that the crazy stuff Ishar tells are partially because with his connection abilities he feels events in the past/future and in his madness he can not seperate them from the current reality - So what if he feels Dalinar`s connection to Nohadon and Nohadon "corrupted" the spren in his time and started the radiants to help (or maybe unintentenally helped) Odium`s plan. What do you think? Was Nohadon Odium`s champion? Is there more clues that might support this theory? Myslef, I think that without more clues it is very unlikely but if it is true it will recontextualize a lot of other stuff.
