Definitely Willshaper. In-world Words of Radiance claims Willshapers were adventurous types. That fits very well with Eshonai's love for travel and discovery. By the way, I'm not convinced that Eshonai will become a Surgebinder/Radiant. But since all ten books of The Stormlight Archive represent one of the orders, I think Eshonai's flashback book will be associated with the Willshapers. Whether or not Eshonai actually becomes a Radiant.

[Words of Radiance Tour] Chicago Signing, Mar 22
cem replied to Argent's topic in Events and Signings
I can answer your first question. Yes, he did. -
Unlikely, since she most definitely left a crystal mound in the shape of a man. Not to mention one of the gemstones she used cracked, which we haven't seen it happen with Elsecalling (or the Oathgates which are probably Surge fabrials like Soulcasters and Regrowth). I think the reasons Shallan couldn't Soulcast were because Stick possessed more mental fortitude than the footpads and she didn't know what the hell she was doing.

Good questions, Argent. I think the Heralds staying in Kholinar question may be bait for an Aes Sedai answer since at least Nin and Kalak attended the Parshendi treaty feast, and Shalash destroyed her statue there. If you're accepting suggestions, I'd really like to know at which point Surgebinders' eye colors change to the color of their order. Kaladin's did after the Third Ideal and the Sylblade, but Shallan's and Jasnah's remained the same even though they're probably at the same stage. And it'd be nice if you could get what type of spren Wyndle, Glys and Ivory are, for the wiki if nothing else. Edit: Ooooh, and maybe find out if this is some sort of supernatural geolocation like Shallan's Memory and Kaladin's battle-awesomeness: -
We don't need to figure them out, we already know them. Jeseh Nan Chach Vev Palah Shash Betab Kak Tanat Ishi (I assume this would be drawn as shish)

When you say "name of the order," do you mean the glyphs on the KR chart? If so, we actually know what the Windrunner glyph is supposed to sound like from Brandon's store: it's "jeseh." Which is the Alethi word for "one" (Jes) converted into a palindrome (or pseudo-palindrome, I suppose). The glyphs are ridiculously stylish of course, but I can at least make out the "s" here on the lower right using Harakeke's chart; so you guys could figure out how "je" is supposed to be drawn from there? Anyway, assuming the same holds for the rest of the glyphs, which I don't see why it wouldn't, then rest of the glyphs would probably numbers too. Do I make sense?

Yes, I believe that each Surgebinder gets a bonus ability apart from their regular Surgebindings, Shards, and the benefits of Stormlight. Though I disagree with the examples you gave. For one thing, I'd say Renarin's precognition is his Surgebinding ability. Shallan has Memory. The in-world Words of Radiance mentions that Lightweavers had mnemonic abilities, so other Lightweavers probably had abilities of similar nature. Though I wouldn't say she sees into the past. That ability seems much more complex than that to me. And Kaladin has spider-sense. Notice how often he claims to feel as if being guided by the wind, especially while fighting to protect, even going so far as to think he could fight two Shardbearers while his eyes were closed at the duel scene. Syl all but admitted his spear fighting abilities are because of their bond.

Let's see. Ten Gates for ten cities of ten Silver Kingdoms: Natanatan: Stormseat Alethela: Kholinar Thalath: Likely Thaylen City (see: http://brandonsanderson.com/beta/wp-content/gallery/stormlight-1-maps-and-illustrations/twok_map-6_four_cities-webres.jpg) Rishir: no idea Valhav: Likely Vedenar Makabakam: Likely Sesemalex Dar Sela Tales: no idea Iri: Rall Ellorim and Kasitor are the biggest cities. Possibly one of them. Shin Kak Nish: no idea. Aimia: no idea Akinah probably has an Oathgate too, but I don't think we've been told where the city is. It isn't likely to be in Shinovar or Aimia though. According to The Way of Kings, there is also another in Abamabar . Though again we don't know where that is.

Yeah. It does. Which kind of ruins my grand discovery.

I don't know if this has been talked about somewhere else. I searched, and couldn't find anything. So, I was rereading the Lhan interlude and realized something: So yes, Kholinar Palace and the Vorin temple are built right on top of the Kholinar Oathgate.

I've always interpreted the quote in OP as that each order gets three Surgebinding abilities. Two of these abilities, they share with the adjacent orders, but the third ability belongs to them alone. In the case of Windrunners; They have Full Lashing (Adhesion) which they share with Bondsmiths. They have Basic Lashing (Gravitation) which they share with Skybreakers. They have Reverse Lashing (Gravitation) which belongs only to Windrunners. Shallan's Memory would then be not exactly a Surgebinding abilitiy, but a side effect of being a Surgebinder. Kind of like Shardwielding. Being a Shardbearer isn't really a Surgebinding ability, but Nahel bond allows their spren to manifest as Shards. Memory is similar, but specialized only to Lightweavers.

Actually all Rosharans are big on symmetry. In fact, their thing probably predates Vorinism; just look at the Silver Kingdoms. Which isn't all that surprising actually. There is a lot of symmetry in the Roshar geography, Dawncities and such. Roshar--the supercontinent--itself is more or less symmetrical. It's not surprising they would assign some divinity to symmetry, and from there it's a short step to palindromes being holy.
-
Possible, though let's not throw around phrases like "only remaining explanation"; Brandon mastered Aes Sedai answers long ago. In support for your theory, Stormfather calls the Listeners the "Ancient Ones" in chapter 89, while Kaladin and Dalinar are called the children of Honor.

It doesn't help. I've been seeing that date as the date of the True Desolation, and I know people think it so because of the thousand days epigraph, but it is wrong. The Way of Kings starts in around 7th or 8th month of the year. Words of Radiance starts in 9th. Palah is the fifth. Kaladin joins the army in Weeping (last 20 days of the year) 1168 Spends four years minus few weeks in the army, then is sold to slavery in probably 10th month of 1172 Spends eight months in slavery, then is sold to Sadeas's army in 7th or 8th

I think Kaladin just did Basic Lashing. ninja'd

I try to be one of those diligent readers, so can you answer me one little question? See this: http://coppermind.net/wiki/User:Cem/WoR_timeline Here, I'm accepting the highstorm where Dalinar receives the "I'm dead" vision from Tanavast as day 0, and say that chapters 1 and 2 take place the very next day. Can you confirm whether that is the correct highstorm for both chapters or not?
-
Guys, when you find something incorrect on the wiki, spare fifteen seconds to fix it or at least make sure one of the editors is aware of the problem. No one reads every single post on the forums, don't leave it to chance that one of us will see it by just posting it here.

Dedicated page sounds good to me, but I don't know about having a list of pronunciations. I think we are better of having them in individual pages? Instead of linking to Help:IPA on Wikipedia, we can link the pronunciations to this page. And there, we can go crazy with your descriptions and explanations and Brandon's caveat and whatnot?
-
ren-AH-rin would be the correct way if I'm not mistaken. I'm in favor of putting at the beginning, though only because that's how Wikipedia does it, thus what people are used to.
-
We can add a footnote next to the "pronounced" for this. Like so: (pronounced<ref group=fn>Pronounce it however you want</ref> [xoˈlɪn])
-
How about Kholin? AFAIR Brandon pronounced it in some interview like [ˈxo·lɪn], though I'm not exactly sure x actually represents the correct sound.
