  1. I mean, that would make sense. Threndonites who were not around for the splintering do not turn into shades, I think. This means the splintering is the cause. Nazh also talks about proper rights and rituals to become a shade. If people automatically become shades when they die, then that must mean all of the people must become invested upon death, or they were already invested and something strange happens when they die. We can assume that the splintering caused a large amount of investiture to get thrown around, because the evil exits, the shades exist, and the deepest ones exist. Could some of the shades be animals? If humans turn into shades upon death, then why not animals? It would also explain why some shades seem more aware than others. Maybe the deepest ones are humans who went through the proper rituals, and kept all of their sentience, knowledge, and humanity.
  2. Gets an injured hand Inserts an aluminum bullet
  3. I've been practicing it for a while, but yeah it can be rough sometimes. It also really hurts at first.
  4. There are multiple WOBs to support this, I think. We know that the imprisonment of Ba-Ado-Mishram took place around that time. Also, people have theorized similar things before. That isn't exactly related, but it's still interesting. I do think that Ba-Ado-Mishram caused deadeye spren, but I don't necessarily agree with your other points.
  5. Cool, I take private lessons for cello. I guess everyone probably assumed that, but still. Three octave scales are fun if you know thumb position
  6. Thank you a lot. I started freaking out this morning, so I did what any sane person would do and checked the 17th Shard. Thankfully, these were here. You have officially saved me from a mental breakdown.
  7. Well, either way, who here takes private lessons?
  8. Wow that's amazing. This is hilarious!
  9. Let's just keep in mind that soulstamps actually have to be plausible.
  10. Couldn't you use Allomantic metals to fuel your divine breath? I'm pretty sure Zahel uses stormlight to keep himself going. As for the breaths need for awakening, I think you might be right. He would need a lot of breaths. I think overall this theory is possible, but unlikely.
  11. It is very interesting, I'm mostly just curious about the trees. What would an economy look like if you could farm and harvest those things? Do they still glow once they die? If the trunks are as hard as metal, could you harvest it and use it as a substitute? I think I had other questions, but I can't remember them right now.
  12. Oh, no. What have I accidentally created?
  13. Well, I really don't think Devotion and Dominion had anything to do with the forming of Roshar, and it really wouldn't make sense for the cities to be related to AonDor. I suppose some shards could be inspired and take other shards ideas, a bit like how Scadrian humans are modeled after the ones Adonalsium created. But I think at the very most, one shard took inspiration from another, and I doubt that is even the case. While things can have parallels in the Cosmere, some things are coincidences. It's what makes the universe feel real. If everything was connected super closely, it wouldn't feel so alive.
  14. Yes. Do you play an instrument Ta'veren Kaladin?
  15. The Cellist do not pursue, they are happy to have run you out of their land, but they do threaten you away with the concerto for two cellos by Vivaldi.
  16. Hello. Welcome. What is your favorite magic in the cosmere?
  17. Your offences are, 1. Calling string players "Stringy bois" then 2. Doing it again after some cellists explained to you that it is not permitted for you to do that. Make your decision quickly.
  18. I agree. We are dignified beings, for the most part.
  19. I actually tend to feel bad for viola's but I guess it's on them. They chose their instrument.
  20. This is very specific information. Favorite cello pieces anyone? (Cellos are all the people here currently)
  21. Hi! I had just noticed there are quite a few string players on the shard, so I just thought I would make a place where we can all talk about orchestral things. I am a cellist, as you have doubtless guessed. Yes Violists, you are allowed in here too.
  22. Cool! As a cellist, I am required to say I like Bach. (I do)
  23. No! Why would you ruin the perfection we had created?
