  1. Nin's apprentice realized that he was acting as a shard, meaning he was one, and had therefore already ascended.
  2. I'm pretty sure shards reside in the spiritual realm. That's where the investiture comes from, anyway. Things like location and time don't really matter there, just like they don't matter for shards. this is of course, unless something weird happens like with the Dor. Still, I don't think investiture can be stolen like that. It just doesn't manifest that way. I guess if you had an object that was invested to the level of a shard, it could be stolen, but that has other problems, such as that object becoming sentient. I don't think we know enough about Adonalsium yet to really speculate with any evidence.
  3. If dawnshards aren't sapient, how did Rysn feel that feeling of contentment? I don't think they are, unless dawnshards also gain sentience if left alone long enough. Are you implying that this contentment came from Adonalsium? Adonalsium is dead, and the dawshards were part of it. Maybe I'm just not understanding.
  4. I don't disagree, but wasn't that dawnshard Change? Wouldn't it be happy with it's role in the shattering?
  5. The Eizards didn't even tell Nin's apprentice what it was until the group arrived at the trial site.
  6. So they had the two Ideas fight in an eternal stalemate, technically completing the challenge.
  7. So Nin's Apprentice called upon the rest of the group to help brainstorm a better way.
  8. They didn't actually need to kill hope, that was just their idea to kill Idea.
  9. Everyone in the adventuring squad gave him a high five before entering the dungeon.
  10. But that would only be after they were turned into corpses, which the Wyverns could not do because they were only good at killing things, and not stuff.
  11. Since I do not believe we know the natures of the madness the Heralds deal with, I do not think we can guess how to heal it. I think it could be possible that a divine breath could restore it, but it also could just act like swearing oaths near Ishar does. He becomes sane for a little while, and then relapses. If the answer was simply stormlight, the Heralds would be cured of their madness by now, since Nale is both a Knight Radiant, and currently in possession of his Honorblade. (I think) If I had to guess, I would say that the madness will regress at some point, for some reason. (My personal theory is that it has something to do with Ba-Ado-Mishram) But that it will remain, to a degree.
  12. Turns out Nin's apprentice was immune to the poison, and wise to the scheme.
  13. NIn's apprentice was very tired of this, and wanted to get on with his quest, so he and his friends, including the elephant, ate all the bananas.
  14. I don't think that Vin would be harmony exactly but would be something pretty close. Hope maybe? I would say acceptance, but that doesn't really sound like the name for a Shardic intent.
  15. Now, I am not going to pretend to be any good at at doing things consistently, because I'm really bad at it as well. The only thing I do consistently is practice cello. I likely wouldn't even do that except for a few reasons. 1. My teacher set a goal for me to practice for 30 days in a row. This helped me to get in the habit of practicing every day, and since I felt like 30 days in a row was a bit short, I set a goal for 100 days in a row instead. Now it's just more of a habit and I either play or practice at lease a little bit basically every day. If you want to do something, set a goal. 2. I really enjoy playing cello. I get to think about things, my life, how I am doing. It's an opportunity to let my mind wander in peace. I look forward to practicing because of that. If you can find a reason to look forward to doing something, it helps with your motivation to do it more. 3. I want to get better. This one might not be as relevant since you said you want to be better at a bunch of stuff and just haven't managed it. (You and I are similar in this) I want to improve at cello because I can play more difficult songs. I will also be able to play much more beautifully if I practice more. I know this, and it keeps me practicing. I also know that if I don't practice, I will regress, but if I at least play some, my progress usually only stagnates at worst. Well, those are my thoughts. I doubt they will be of any use, but there they are.
  16. Yes, the Stormfather is a splinter of honor. I believe all spren are splinters of honor, but have Cultivation mixed in as well. At the very least, yes, spren are splinters of honor.
  17. In my free time I think about my friends or music. Those are the main things. I love both English and math, so it really just depends on how I'm feeling. (English is a dumb language though) My favorite Brandon Sanderson book is probably either The Way of Kings or Oathbringer, but to modify something Dalinar said,"What is the best Brandon Sanderson book a person can read? The next one, it's always the next one." For raw creativity I would say Metallic arts on Scadrial, but since I guess there are three magic systems there, I would say my favorite of those is probably Feruchemy, though it wouldn't be as cool without the other metallic arts there as well. I think that my actual favorite magic system is the Radiants because of each order's focus on a specific thing, and the general premise of becoming better people when you mess up.
  18. So, in the pineapple rain, our heroes set off on their quest to fulfill Nin's apprentice's part of the prophecy.
  19. So he tried, and failed, again. They group set off on their journey. But first, because of the contract, they had to kill the elephant's family first.
  20. *Hugs* It may sound dumb, but sometimes when It's rough for me, I like to remind myself of the first Ideal of the Knights Radiant. "Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination."
  21. But Nin's apprentice didn't care about that. He discovered that the contract gave him a great power to help him on his quest, and that power was...
  22. Because the replacement was identical to the original in every way.
  23. Nin's apprentice went to reread the contract in order to see for himself.
