  1. Rym appeared out of thin air with his Mordite blade in Subversion's chest. "You," he said, "Have been causing problems for far too long."
  2. Bookwyrm was terrified of the sentient raisins. But that was irrelevant. "I think randomness is returning to the thread," he remarked.
  3. "Hm..." Avi thought for a moment. "As you wish." Avi followed Il'anque towards the seemingly more difficult pathway. @Ookla the Frustrated.
  4. ...I'm also curious to see you draw Ast'avi. (From the White Iron-Reapers RP.) All the relevant information should be in her character description.
  5. ....Why do all of you say this? I'm not that tall. You're about my height anyway. And have you seen @Ookla the Myopic?
  6. Avi led her companions past the last of the crystal arches. "This is the first layer," she said. "Be on the look out for monsters. And maybe worse things, but I'm not sure yet." She stopped and plotted out a path. This part of the Inverted Mountain was generally steeper, but she found a path up to the top that would take minimal energy, if perhaps just a tiny bit more time. It's not a race, anyway. "Follow me," she told Il'anque and Isek, "Unless you think you find a better route." @Ookla the Nerdy @Ookla the Frustrated.
  7. @InfiniteInsanity and I came up with this list of correct plurals.

Zero Mos. One Moose. Two Meese. Three or more Meesen.

Zero Gos. One Goose. Two Geese. Three or more Geesen.

Zero Shop. One Shoop. Two Sheep. Three or more Sheepen.

Zero Oux (pronounced "oo" like in Demoux and Renoux). One Ox. Two Oxes. Three or more Oxen.

Zero Foux. One Fox. Two Foxes. Three or more Foxen.

Zero Boux. One Box. Two Boxes. Three or more Boxen.

Zero Mus. One Mouse. Two Mice. Three or more Meeses (Reference the song about Scrooge in A Muppet Christmas Carol).

  8. ...There is no 3 am; Our planet doesn't rotate that slowly. English is too hard.
  9. "All right," Avi said. "Once we pass these crystals, we'll be at the first layer. Best keep your wits about you; it'll only get harder from here."
  10. "You mean Mordite?" Rym yelled over the battle. "I'm on it!" Rym drew his sword and aimed a stab at Subversion's back while the almost-narrator was distracted.
  11. Avi prepared for the monster's next attack, dagger held at the ready. She was planning to dismiss the starlight blade surrounding it and stab the creature with the venom-coated metal, but she had to get close first. Suddenly, a large man made of metal fell from the sky directly on the creature's back, crushing it. The Din'al screamed with it's strange voice again and convulsed in pain. The Metal Elemental wore a uniform with one of the medallions that marked him as a Reaper. Another acolyte, then Avi took the opportunity to dash up and stab the Din'al in the head with the venom-coated blade of her dagger. It spasmed for a moment before falling still. Avi turned to the Metal Elemental and nodded her thanks. She'd seen him in training, but had not interacted with him at all. She didn't even remember his name, but that was a problem easily solved. "I thank you for your assistance," she said. @Ookla the Nerdy
  12. Ast'avi drew a rune in the air, calling upon one of the spells she had learned during her long studies of Wizardry. A wave of frost blew over the Din'al, encasing several of its legs in ice. It let out a strange sound, a layered roar composed of screeches and rumbles. As it tried to dive at Il'anque again, stumbling because of its lost mobility, Avi pulled her dagger in its sheath and called on her Starmagic. She had been told that she was of one of the strongest celestial bloodlines in her city, before it was destroyed. She had hidden that from the world, taught herself Wizardry to disguise the spells that ran in her blood. The other acolytes were at least vaguely aware of her divine ancestry, but she didn't care. It was the ignorant people that she needed to hide from. Here, she could use both forms of magic to their fullest. She encased her dagger in a blade of starlight, transforming it into a short sword. A swarm of solidified points of light formed in front of her, like a shimmering constellation. The pinpricks shot at the Din'al faster than any arrow, wounding it further.
  13. Avi nodded. She was...unsure about how useful the venom would be. Between her dagger and her magic, she thought she could handle herself. But it could be beneficial. She drew her dagger and pulled out the vial of venom, and poured about a third of the venom into a compartment in the hilt. The venom would run through grooves in the metal and temporarily infuse the edges of the blade. Pouring the venom on the blade alone wouldn't work, as the dagger's self-cleaning properties would simply repel it. She slid the dagger back in its sheath. Then she turned to continue on the path. A flash of iridescence moved in the edge of her vision, and she tensed. "I don't think we're alone here," Avi said to Il'anque.

  15. "Not the caves," Avi agreed. She led Il'anque on a rocky path up to the crystal lattice. Structures like that all around the mountain gave it the image of a gigantic iridescent thorn bush. They passed an area filled with spikes of crystal jutting from the ground. Many of them were carved with runes or symbols. More shrines, Avi thought. There are a lot of them on this part of the mountain. They made it to the start of the lattice pathway after a few minutes without any encounters with monsters. The arches of crystal and metal made a simple clear pathway up to the First Layer of the mountain. "Once we pass through these arches, we'll be to the First Layer," she said. "Stay on your guard."
  16. Avi took one of the bottles. She tucked it away in a pouch. "I'd rather save mine for later," she explained. "But the spur will be useful..." Once they had gathered everything they needed, Avi pointed to a formation that glimmered in the moonlight. This planet only had one moon; Avi had found it strange when she first arrived, considering she had grown up on a world that was a moon of a larger world. The Figari collective was a wide place, filled with many worlds, both on a physical and a more arcane level. The single moon shone on a growing latticework of metal ore and crystal. "Let's head to that formation," Avi said. "It makes a sheltered path up to the next layer of the hike."
  17. Avi nodded and pulled out her dagger. She began to take the hide off the creature. Once she was finished, she rolled up the hide and put it in her pack. "Are you finished?" she asked Il'anque.
  18. Ast'avi stood there for a moment. I knew travelling with her was a good choice. Avi turned back and knelt next to the del'kthin. "I was honestly unaware of those properties. Let me know what I can do to help, but make it quick."
  19. EDIT: Credit to my father for coming up with this meme idea.
  20. It is my turn for win.
  21. Happy Birthday!

(I know I don't interact with you much besides SE, but I'm saying it anyway.)

  22. @Ookla the Nerdy Avi feinted at the del'kthin, lunging toward it with her starlight-encased dagger. The creature retaliated by roaring and lunging at her, in turn. Avi dodged, rolling to the left to avoid it's venom filled claws. Then as it landed off balance, she spun, dismissed the starlight blade, and rammed the dagger directly into the creatures neck. It died with nothing more than a weak whine. Avi pulled the dagger out of the monster. Instead of having to wipe it off, the creature's blood simply...melted away from the dagger. It was made of Etheriumite and alloys of other metals, and had magical properties, including the ability to clean itself. It was nice. She slid the dagger into its sheath and turned to Il'anque. "Let's keep moving," she said. "We have another fifteen minutes before we reach the next part of the hike. If we're lucky."
  23. ...It's "I is human." Seriously, people, grammer isn't that hard... I is procrastinating.
