  1. Props for the shoutout to all the nameless NPC’s out there
  2. I hadn’t noticed that previously. Great catch. Nightblood could be a good answer. We see that Nightblood is a sword in black in the physical realm but perceived itself as a sword of light in the cognitive realm. With the character growth of Nightblood in this book, (learning to control it’s “hunger”, learning to grant surges) I think this could be referring to a future state of Nightblood
  3. My crack theory is that Kalak created the continuity chain to give to Taln and Taln lost it. Brandon teased that bad boy back in OB and also in Sunlit Man
  4. So I read it as Elsecalling the first time too. Then I got to thinking that it actually could be the whole veristatalion thing (probably butchered that name). I have to go back and check those names but for some reason I thought one of the people was a shin person. That would make her a disciple in telling history as it actually happened and makes a lot of sense in creating a book about those events
  5. With the back cover blurbs of the books being written by Sleepless, and seeing that some of them are about Kal - my theory is that the rock is a sleepless. It would explain why it just reappears
  6. Agreed. I think the Origin
  7. Well if we are linking Valor with Fourth Moon, Valor would have been there before the other 3 arrived
  8. I’d have to go look back but we see chapter pictures of Szeth in black and the same picture in white. So darkened twin makes me think of it as Szeth
  9. Maybe this is the elusive Voidbinding?
  10. Hey, props on the theory. This one aged well!
  11. My recollection is that basically Retribution needs to care for his planet now. Like he might be happy in the immediate but he will have to take time to fix the issues. minor Mistborn spoiler below. Putting it in her just in case…
  12. Personally, I’m rooting for Whimsy and Invention to pair up. That’s seems like real fun. It also seems like a One Piece crossover
  13. I think Reason just *poofed* immediately as it couldn’t find a vessel in line with its Intent
  14. Honesty I think this is the best argument. On the topic of the deadeye spren now being the unoathed, do we think that this happens if BAM doesn’t get freed? I’m not sure we totally know why Maya started healing yet. Was it because of the crack in BAM’s prison? (Side note: how’d that get there?? Maybe cultivation? ) Or does it have to do with Adolin embodying the values of another shard? Valor is defined, by google , as “great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle” That perfectly describes what happens in the Azish storyline. That describes the Notum attack on RoW, the Tower, the mismatched duel, etc. Granted, you can make the argument for all soldiers and indeed valor would be present. Do I think Valor is hiding in the Fourth moon fragments? Honestly, no. Valor would have had to be there prior to Honor and Cultivation. Odium wouldn’t come for a while yet. What would have driven Valor to hide?
  15. It also breaks the writer’s rule of: Show, Don’t Tell!
  16. I want to believe
  17. There’s a WaT reactions thread going that is spoilers allowed
  18. And without any screen time
  19. To hand him the answers without the context would not provide him with growth. Dalinar needed to experience those moments to get the understanding of not only Tanavast but also his own mistakes. It was that growth which enabled him to ascend to Honor
  20. I would say that to tell him would be against the Intent of her Shard. She’s all about growth. Very similar to the whole “journey before destination” thing
  21. Yeah I know with all the secret projects they used many different artists. I wonder if they have been searching for one successor to do the covers maybe a spren (AI) will make them
  22. After finishing WaT, I was just looking at the cover and thought: What do I want on the covers for the back half of stormlight? (my answer has WaT spoilers)
  23. My initial reaction: 8/10 -i don’t love everything but this book was 10x better than RoW -I agree with the comment above - very heartbroken we were robbed of Taln’s action scene -I personally do not care that Gavinor was the other champion. Ultimately the contest become not as important to me because what Kal/Szeth were doing was bigger to me. Plus now when Brandon does a Gav and Lift romance it doesn’t have to be a nasty age difference lol -I think most of us wanted Shallan to be out in the greater cosmere. I sincerely hope she ships out as a worldhopper rather than stick around -can I say again how much better of a book this was than Rhythm of Snore… -very satisfying to see Jasnah get humbled. Once it became known that she was right about the Almighty, she was simply self righteous. Now that she has been brought low, there’s room for character growth and maybe some compassion and empathy for other people -I will say this though, I hope we get less POV viewpoints in future books. I really miss how limited Way of Kings was. There were a few times where I noticed in Szeth/Kal sections where Brandon would write from both persons head in the same section -most importantly, I’m so glad that this ended up on a low note. This is far more compelling Overall- 8/10 for me First arc rankings: Way of Kings Wind and Truth Words of Radiance Oathbringer Rhythm of War
  24. I genuinely hope this is the direction this is going
