He stepped to the side and quickly picked up the sword that was leaning in the corner he had placed it in once he had arrived. He sheathed it in one smooth movement before picking up the massive longbow and quiver of arrows that had been resting besides it. "I do not believe that I will hurt the situation of this Wildbound Captain Fedrust."

    Valence thought for a moment. "I believe I would prefer to join the Investigative Squad. I do not enjoy administrative positions. I would be willing to join the normal Guard, but I would not prefer it."

    Okay, the way I am going to do this is Cherry is staying on as an NPC, and @The Known Novel, you don't have to rejoin if you don't want to. The foursome made their way out of the small copse of trees and down to the road. It took only a few minutes of walking before they entered the small town, it's one street lined with shops and stalls.

    "No, I am not from what you call the 'Civilized Nations'." Valence said patiently. "My people were an island nation, many hundred miles from the mainland. Unfortunately, the island was a large volcano, and it exploded violently. I was one of the few survivors, and I only survived because I am Fleshbound. I was a mile off the shore, and my small skiff was destroyed in the following tidal wave. Over time, I made my way to the mainland. And now I am here." Valence shifted his weight back slightly. He wondered how close this man was to Vithankre, and how well he knew the warlord. "What openings do you have in the Guard?" he asked suddenly.

    I have two ancient entity villains in the works for my book/story, where defeating the first will free the second. They both functionally want true life, though the second is not really sane.

    Most of the details are fine, except what the machine is weaving. It is weaving a bodysuit out of a black cloth and wires. That's on me, I should have stated that before. I like the idea of a machine in the middle making a robotic limb, but it would be a leg and foot. The weaving machine would be off to the side, with the assembler in the middle. As for finding Mike, the motivator has a tracking device, and Balance will be able to locate it once he recovers. With the way things are going currently, Mike will have about a twelve hour head start. Balance will sense the motivator, try to go after it, then collapse, his body shutting him down for recovery for a few hours.
