  1. Eh, it's debatable what "realistic" is. GRRM, even at his best, was slower than Brandon (at his worst). I think there is evidence for either case, but neither is objectively more likely at the moment - it all depends on how special you consider Brandon to be.
  2. Aw, I was in London a month ago...

Brandon has spoken about this once or twice. If I recall correctly, Scadrial has never had the negativity against homosexuality our world has had (and still has), so it's always been accepted as more or less normal. I suspect some people might feel weird about it, but those would be individuals.

    Huh, neat.
  5. That latest image looks pretty great! I will ask you, however, to also post replies as you update the main post - otherwise the forum won't flag the edit as new content and most of us won't see the update (at least until someone randomly stumbles upon it and replies).
  6. It's something Brandon revealed during the Shadows of Self tour earlier this year. I believe this is the earliest reference to its purpose.
  7. That's kind of what I was going for, actually. His physiology has changed, which is why he is experiencing drawbacks - not because there is anything inherently bad with being a savant.
  8. Maybe. My interpretation is that single power savantism, by virtue of sticking investiture to your soul, kind of gives you a bit of your power passively. So Spook, while burning tin, has a lower threshold for sensory input, it takes less stimulus to trigger his sensors (and so a lot of stimulus overloads him). Part of this "threshold lowering" effect carries over when he is not burning tin, so it now takes less to overload him.
  9. It's not a bad guess at a hack, but I don't think it would work (even disregarding how impractical it is). There is some deeper stuff going on with Sel, so it's not just the lay of the land that shapes the magic there. For example: Arcanum Unbounded Sel preface spoilers: In addition to this, Connection and Identity are also probably a factor. All of which makes me even more curios about how the Moon Scepter works...
  10. I would actually prefer if people asked their questions in dedicated threads (or found the answers without having to ask a question, but that's not always an option). It makes it easier for future questioners to find answers to their own questions. But that's a personal preference. Anyway, to answer your question, RAFO stands for "read and find out." It's a term coined by Robert Jordan (author of The Wheel of Time series), and one that Brandon kind of inherited from him - though he uses it differently. While it can sometimes literally mean "I will write about this in the future, so you will have to wait, read, and find out" (e.g. a literal RAFO), Brandon usually uses it as a non-answer, so to speak. It's a way for him to neither confirm nor deny any suppositions made by the question being asked.
  11. If I remember to, I will take a look at this tonight.
  12. Double plot twist: the Reckonverse allows for an AU Cosmere, which is where the Rithmatist takes place.
  13. Thread, topic, same thing. I assume you created this one, so you can do it again
  14. Huh, it's weird that I've seen none of this...
  15. Let's not discuss it here though. Koloss as very varied species, so some have carb-free heads. Others have glutten-free heads (and yet others have glutten-rich heads; I don't know how either one of those makes sense, but koloss are pretty magical). So feast your eyes - and mouth(s?) - upon these koloss heads!
  16. So Elantris sequels - plural I don't even know what Soulburner is! No progress on Dark One Mizzy story might still happen! Snapshot is Reckonverse!? Silverlight novella sometime in the future! Exclamation marks!
  17. I'll just second everything @LeftVash said. Overall, I liked The Force Awakens better, but I don't regret seeing Rogue One.
  18. I think you might be committing a logical fallacy here. We don't actually know why Ruin and Preservation can speak to and hear (respectively) Scadrians. It is certainly likely that it is because Scadrians are literally made of Ruin and Preservation, but that doesn't have to be the case. For example, I think there was a WoB some time ago that said that Odium can communicate with people, but it's much more vague and general type of thing (i.e. not so much speech as... impressions) - in fact, we know Shallan's father was being influenced by him*, and this is all in a magical system and world where Shardic radio is not really a thing. Who's to say that a Shard who has sufficiently invested themselves in Scadrial wouldn't get the ability to speak to/with people as well? Trell, whether he ends up being Autonomy or not, seems to be already benefiting from both Allomancy (Bleeder's spikes) and Hemalurgy (the "evil kandra"). * Strictly speaking, we don't know that. Somebody asked if Shallan's father was being influenced by Odium, and Brandon confirmed this, but he could've meant that Lin was being influenced by odium, by hatred, not by the Shard Odium specifically.
  19. I've been with @WeiryWriter on this one. I like the Ishar idea too, and I think the chances for two so prominent traitors are low (i.e. I think it will be one or the other, not both), but the contextual evidence for this quote points more towards an Unmade.
  20. Yeah, this idea has popped up a few times over the last month. I personally find it likely, and like it. There was indeed a recent WoB confirming that the lady was Isaac's (the artist) creation. It was on Reddit, but I can't find it quickly.
  21. Right, @Eki. I don't remember the exact wording, so maybe I am shooting in there dark here, but I still don't see why it couldn't be a temporary setback. I see it as a destroyed door - one that blocks the way and takes a while to rebuild, but possible to repair nonetheless.
  22. He was a Terrisman, they worshiped Preservation. That ought to be Connection enough.
  23. My understanding of the state of Ruin's perpendicularity was that Kelsier merely... disabled it. Temporarily. Realmatically speaking, I don't understand why popping the atium geodes would have an effect on the perpendicularity, but I very much doubt Kelsier could've done permanent damage to it - especially considering that we know the Pits would eventually reform. So I figure he just put a pause on things.
  24. Wasn't there a WoB around about how Rashek was more powerful of an Allomancer than a Mistborn who gained their powers from lerasium?
  25. Possible, I suppose, but the whole "mixing of investitures" thing Brandon is hinting at when he talks about how savants of multiple powers work leads me to believe that it will be a single Perpendicularity. The intention for Wax was for him to become a savant of the combination of Allomantic Steel and Feruchemical Iron - like the two powers had become one for him. So I figure Sazed is very much in the same boat - for him, there is no Preservation and Ruin, there is only Harmony. Another Vessel might not allow the powers to mix, and so they would let two different types of investiture seep into the world.
