  1. Rushed is definitely how I felt about it as well. Another hour or two might have fixed it, but I was disappointed. Not disappointed that I went and saw it (I am happy I did), but disappointed by how much more they could've done with it.
  2. He has said that there are several Easter eggs in The Way of Kings... Navani's notebook, the mark on the maps, the worldhoppers, maybe this too.
  3. I imagine for something like that - yes. EDIT: Maximus, can you PasteBin a list of the form {set of English words} {remaining letters}? For all valid sets? An even better option would be to, instead of just printing the leftover letters, to print all possible permutations of those letters. So for the word "noxy", we can see something like [no] xy [no] yx [on] xy [on] yx [ox] ny [ox] yn My hope is that we can skim through this stupidly long list and look for Cosmere names in the second column; name that wouldn't show up in the dictionary, but ones we'd recognize instantly. EDIT 2: A more elegant solution would be to create a dictionary out of all of the words in TWoK (or even all Cosmere works?) and use that instead of the English dictionary. Or use it alongside the English one (in case the anagram ends up being composed of an English weird that doesn't appear in Brandon's works, and a name that appears only there).
  4. There is something about the title that bugs me... It sounds familiar. Vaguely Shakespearean, I think. There is melody to it, but I just can't figure out our. It's been bugging me for weeks...
  5. It seemed like there are two ways the shades can kill. They can infect / affect you thoroughly (as was the case with William Ann), or they can do just enough damage to make your body die from semi-natural cause (e.g. your heart turning into dust). Or maybe treating a severely infected person with just a little silver is enough to prevent shadehood without stopping the withering. I am leaving towards the first hypothesis, as I think Silence might have mentioned / thought about doing just that to William Ann. Our maybe only older shades can turn, while young ones just kill - Grandmother seemed pretty fresh, for one reason or another.
  6. Naturally I loved it! Let me hide the rest behind a spoiler just in case (though if you are here you should be done with it...)
  7. I DID NOT KNOW THIS THING EXISTED. I AM NOW HAPPY. LIKE, CAPS LOCK HAPPY.
  8. Very well, I can agree to this. But I still feel your original wording required the following clarification to properly convey your real meaning.
  9. It fits and makes sense, I don't disagree. It seemed like you wanted an answer to your question, so I provided one. But I agree. Though now I want to ask Brandon to tell us how this further research went / would've gone...
  10. That's quote possible. I was picking on the specific wording about how his armor seems to glow when he is protecting those who cannot protect themselves. This is very specific behavior in the Stormlight Archive.
  11. It was an idle thought, a topic of further research.
  12. Only, this can't be the case. Not literally. Dalinar is not a Windrunner, his pseudo-powers (if he does, in fact, display them) lie in a different direction. So his Second Ideal would be different.
  13. For a Veristitalian, shouldn't this hypothesis be beneath your notice, on account of how little (i.e. nonexistent) evidence there is for it? =\
  14. This thread should be converted to a (Google) spreadsheet, where each row is a question, and each column contains a single user's responses and comments to as many questions as they have opinions about.
  15. It's interesting, but I find far too much of to be founded on assumptions and other theories for my taste.
  16. We don't know enough about the Halls or Damnation to guess whether they are Physical or Spiritual places. They could both easily be physical. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the way people thought of them that made them seem spiritual, because of the religious mentality.
  17. Meg, this sounds like the way quotes should work in the first place. MadRand, would you be opposed to changing your browser? IE11 is better than its previous iterations, but it's still not up to par with Chrome and Firefox.
  18. I would be interested, but I see two problems - one mine, one general. First, I don't have as much time as I once did (but we don't get WoB too often, so that might be okay). Second, however, I am not sure a forum is the best medium for this. A website would be much better - Google sites might work here, since you can make an okay one for free and without needing to know HTML or CSS.
  19. I plan to read over the Tor chapter summaries. Did a reread a couple of weeks ago, so that should help.
  20. Binding I imagine. Hardcover. Like the first one is blue. I don't have the Orders table, does purple match the Lightweavers' glyph?
  21. Jasnah doesn't strike me as a person who would want to hide her powers. I imagine she decided there is only so much she can learn if she chose to practice hey Soulcasting in secret.
  22. Also apparently doesn't recall how to recognize humor But welcome! You should check out the other books members of our community recommend. Brandon is the best one, but there is other good fantasy out the too :;
  23. I too am taking days off to enjoy this properly.
  24. It is possible that both are possible - Shards Splinter naturally if left without a Holder for too long.
  25. Your enthusiasm is quote contagious, I gotta give you that
