That's kind of how it works. Plans recede and come back very quickly before and after a highstorm. Considering that Shallan and Adolin were perfectly safe practically seconds before the stormwall (though, granted, they had some elevation), I expect plants to wait until the stormwall is just a few minutes away before retreating.

It is important to portray fictional characters in a way (mostly) appropriate for their age -
I see no reason for aluminum Mistings to be protected from their metal's effects. I suppose this could be used as some kind of detox method, removing excess metals from a person's stomach... but I imagine the number of times this could be useful is very low.

The way I see it, there are Shards we know about (Preservation, Ruin, Endowment, etc...) and Shards we don't know about (???, ???, ???, etc...). We know Odium has Splintered Aona, Skai, and Honor, all part of the former group, and we now know he has Splintered at least one of the latter group.

Can't really know. We really only city one city in Warbreaker, and the only things mentioned from the outside world are some really vibrant flowers used to make dyes (but found only near said city), and a sea nearby. We really don't know.

Sel and Scadrial are Earth-like, I believe. For Nalthis, I would try to add splashes of color whenever possible.

Ninja White Sand release just for 17S, I am calling it now.

Only $20 for a full set? I am going to fund this so hard... But seriously, this is awesome. I actually never knew about the original dice, so getting my greedy hands on those is so much better - plus, Kickstarter-exclusive perks are omnomnomicious.

Aluminum is weird. But I doubt a non-magical poison, even one based on aluminum, could stop a person from Investing. After all, the reason it has an Allomantic effect (and I am going to argue that "Allomantically inert" is not a good phrasing, aluminum does have an effect, it just requires certain conditions to be met - in a way it is no more inert than copper or bronze if there are no Allomancers around) is because Allomancers can burn it, it interacts with Allomancy, it allows the "caster" to access (an aspect of) the power of Preservation.

Adonalsiumspren are nothing new, but reading this makes me think they are probably spren with more... identity that the other spren we've seen. Individuals, not categories. More Cucisesh, less Adonalsiumspren.

Oh, delicious, delicious information! We need those things at least once every month or two... Most of the best bits are probably the confirmations of a few popular theories: Worldhopping (or at least one way to worldhop) is done by using the "empty space has no distance in Shadesmar" loophole of the Cognitive Realm. I feel this was heavily hinted at before, but not explicitly stated. It's still not that infamous "Elantris hint" but I'll take it. The Stormfather is a cognitive shadow (of Honor). Either the Parshendi or the Iriali are not originally from Roshar. The things about Odium's influence are interesting. The part about the voidspren having a "hole" in them similar to the kandra's or koloss' could potentially lead to some interesting places in the future - if Odium can fully take control over his Splinters, and the Stormfather (as Honor's cognitive shadow) can kind of influence Honor's, then Cultivation should also be able to take over her own spren, unless she is somehow crippled as a Shard; moreover, this creates a precedent for Shards being able to directly control the actions of Splinters or maybe even control the flow of their Investiture. Which doesn't mean much for Sel, but I am now curious whether Endowment could - if he wanted to - nudge the Returned this way or that. Re: Elantris 10Y Anniversary, we've known about this for years. You have failed the community, now please trade your soul for more Q&A.

Stupid aluminum, so elusive...

I would be interested in finding out whether Roshar was inhabited before the arrival of The Three, and if so - whether we've seen (the descendents of) those inhabitants in the published books.

Considering that Frost (the dragon recipient of Hoid's letter from The Way of Kings) refers to "God's own divine hatred" when referring to the burden they (whoever they are) placed upon Reyse. This suggests, very strongly, that they are aware he ended up with the Shard Odium*. * Shard of Odium? The Odium Shard? The wording feels weird...

I was actually skeptical. A little, but skeptical.

OOOOOOoooooo O! This feels like it should be confirming some things, but we've gone so long without WoBs, I can't even remember the Shardpool-related theories...
-
Well, you ninja'd me with the Vin T-shirt design, so there!

If you are referring to the Words of Brandon (compiled) x2 thread, it was created during the Words of Radiance tour, and pretty much all of the early WoBs there were actually relevant to SA. These days it's more of a repository for WoBs (until they get copied to Theoryland), but you are correct in assuming non-SA has no business there. When you post, the rule of thumb is: if your post links more than one world, it belongs to the Cosmere subforum.

Interesting, Play Books doesn't treat "Miranda" as a substring of "Miranda's"... unless I had a space at the end or something. Anyway, here's what Skin Deep has to say about him: Rahul: Photographer. An Indian man with a round, mustached face, with melodic Indian accentTrivia time: the acknowledgements list Kalyani Poluri and Rahul Pantula are two of Skin Deep's beta readers. No other Aspects seem... "inspired" by real people. Other than, to an extent, J.C. who has been confirmed to share some traits with Jayne Cobb from Firefly. I could've sworn that Brandon said there were more influences to the Aspects, back when Legion was first released, but I can't think of any right now.
-
I think Brandon's answer focused on the lack-of-soul similarity between Lifeless and Shardblade-severed limbs, rather than the lack-of-color. The question was open to interpretation.

My favorite part was probably Stephen's realization that Aubrey is straight-up insane. -

J.C., Tobias, and Ivy are featured pretty often in both books (Kalyani and Audrey showing up in only one of them), so I am going to leave digging information about them for later / somebody else. As for the others, here's what I could find: Armando:[Legion] Thinks the photo of the Lone Cypress to be real. [Legion] Is skilled in photography-related "advanced programs" [Legion] Has Spanish accent [Legion] Refers to himself as Majesty [Legion] Has offered Ivy to marry him sometime in the past [Legion] Photography expert [Skin Deep] On a hunger strike until his throne is returned to him. Stephen thinks he is getting worse. Adoline: Has OCD. Justin:[Legion] Ivy - and Stephen - misses him (and Ignacio). He is mentioned in the context of Aspects vanishing and/or changing Ignacio:[Legion] See Justin [Skin Deep] (Bio)Chemist Ivans:[Legion] Mechanic [Legion] Helped Stephen "disassemble, fix, and reassemble a complex computer system in time to stop a detonation" Chin:[Legion] Computer expert [Legion] Helped Ivans with that complex computer system Arnaud:[Legion] Physicist specializing in temporal mechanics, causality, and quantum theories [Skin Deep] "diminutive Frenchman" with "smooth French accent" who wears spectacles [Skin Deep] Has taken some upper-level chemistry and biology courses Lua:[Skin Deep] A Samoan, a "beefy fellow with vast smile" who wears "sturdy cargo pants and a jacket covered in pockets - appropriate for a survivalist" Mi Won:[Skin Deep] Korean, surgeon and field medic [Skin Deep] Has taken some upper-level chemistry and biology courses Ngozi:[Skin Deep] Forensic investigator, a "six-foot-four black woman" Flip:[Skin Deep] squat, fat, and often tired Clive:[Skin Deep] Has picked up golf because of Owen's insistence [Skin Deep] Has taken some upper-level chemistry and biology courses Owen:[Skin Deep] Has finally convinced Clive to pick up gold Dylan:[Skin Deep] Prone to pacing? The only time he is mentioned, he paces Miranda:I couldn't find a single mention of her in either book

It's in the Skin Deep forum, so all is fair. I literally just got an email about my preorder (which is good, because I was wondering what I should read next) and will be starting it shortly. -
Okay, this thread needs to die. The phrase "Stones Unhallowed" bypasses all kinds of higher functioning in my brain and goes straight to the "EXCITEMENT, RELEASE CHEMISTRY IN THE BLOODSTREAM!" phase... and then I read the rest of the title and remember the contents of the thread...
