    I looked at the dates for Dragonsteel and noticed it's the same week as Thanksgiving; why hold it at such an awkward time? I imagine many people wouldn't want to travel much (anymore than they already do), perhaps it's so more people from out of the country go? Is that normal for Dragonsteel? Any ideas why?

    Jesper and Wayne just fulfill the same role in their stories, being comedic characters in rather serious settings. The Fjordell-Fjorden connection is probably from the word "Fjord", which is very commonly associated with the nordic Aesthetic, which both nations clearly draw on. I'm pretty sure Bondsmith does not appear in the Grishaverse, the closest thing you might be thinking of is Morozova the Bonesmith, who, while also very powerful, is completely different from the Bondsmiths we know and love. Edit: Honer I told the mods to move it from the 17th shard discussion, as that is for specific site-related stuff, like bugs or new policies.

    Since ChayShan needs some start-up time, I think it's a feedback loop of sorts with you moving to open the Dor, which then lets you move faster and access more Dor, which means that you can move faster and so on, until some sort of limit is reached. Steel would either bring it to new heights or just let them reach the limit faster.
