  1. A chair appeared for him around the coffee table. "It's nice to see you again, Erif! Is there a reason for your visit? Perhaps, something I can help you with?"
  2. Our good friend Thaidakar the Ghostblood, roleplayer, storyteller, quote gatherer, wise beyond his years. He was one of my first friends on the Shard, and I believe I can speak for all of us when I say he will be missed greatly! Best of luck to him, wherever he may be and whatever he may be doing.
  3. Sequence glanced between her two guests, shifting uncomfortably. "... I-If it isn't too much to ask, please refrain from engaging in any violence here... Physical and verbal. You are both my guests, and I wish you both well."
  4. Sequence was a bit embarrassed, and blushed faintly. "W-Well, I think distinguished may be a bit far... A-Anyways! Yes, I wanted to hear your side of the, uh... Conflict that's going on. Your motives, your reasoning behind your actions and your opinion on the new Plotblades, which, to my understanding, are the focus of this. Please, take a seat." A second rocking chair appeared across from Sequence's chair, with the coffee table between them. A floating tea kettle poured two cups.
  5. I was just about to suggest that! All of them always all at once
  6. Sequence jumped, nearly falling out of her rocking chair. "Oh! Goodness gracious! Hello! You must be the uh... Brave Adventurer, yes?" She stood up from her chair, dusting herself off a bit before extending a hand to the Brave Adventurer. "Yes, I did invite you! Lovely to meet you!" Sequence jumped again, looking over to Erif who had appeared on the porch of her cabin. "Why, hello Erif! Have you met the Brave Adventurer?"
  7. She stood up and stretched, looking down at the valley for a moment. "Well, I do believe things will... Go better, this time around. No more intervention of any kind." She sat back down, then looked to Bacon. "So... How long do you plan on staying? You're free to leave any time you wish, of course, and the same goes for returning if you ever choose to do so."
  8. Sequence sighed, and nodded a bit. "You... You've convinced me." She waved her hand, and with a flash of light, the smoke and fires in the valley cleared. The two clusters of buildings sat pristinely on either side of the valley. "Ideology, history, bias, perceived notions, gone." She said, settling back into her rocking chair. "Replaced with an open mind and a curiosity for the world and its holdings." She waved her hand again, and a crack appeared in the seemingly endless mountain range, leading the deep-set trail of green off into the distance. "And connection to the rest of my world. There's more beyond these mountains. Some of my more controlled experiments, and some natural, randomly-occurring phenomena as well!"
  9. "Too easy! I could end this fighting and excel these beings to the space age instantaneously if I wanted to. The whole point is to try and allow them to do it alone. Or, mostly alone."
  10. "I only intervene very slightly! It's barely even enough to be considered partial intervention! ... Now, anyways. Back at the start, I did appear to them, which is what lead to the rise of their religions, but I haven't in thousands of years by their calendar."
  11. "Kilometers... Kilometers Hundredlives? Or... What was his last name? But yes, I do remember him." Sequence frowned. "Vaguely." She sighed. "And I suppose you're right. I'll give them a bit more time. There is some slight hope. They've been holding intermittent peace conferences for the past few years. The rate at which people are dying has been dipping down recently."
  12. Sequence laughed a bit. "Negative height? That's an accomplishment in of it's own, in one way or another!" She then thought for a moment. "Stories... Stories... Well, yes. It is technically a whole world... While the number is currently dropping, the population of that valley is near four-million people. There's activism groups for stopping the war in both nations, which I particularly like to watch. There's lots of espionage and science as well, which that's always intriguing. I'm very impressed with how advanced each side has become, actually. I very much hope they don't eradicate one another..."
  13. "I have not, actually... That sounds interesting though! Maybe it's time I get back into it! Sequence sighed and waved her hand dismissively. "I'll figure it out. I'd prefer to intervene as little as possible. Such is the nature of the 'experiment'."
  14. Sequence laughed. “Ah yes! I remember that… That was quite fun, actually. I love specially enjoyed building those towers.”
  15. "Oh! I didn't know you had a history with Onyx... How long have you been around?"
  16. Sequence nodded. “I’d prefer longer, but I believe that’s fair. They experience time much quicker than we do, anyways. I believe it’s… The year 7,290 by their calendar. The latter end of it. It should be about 7,293 by our ‘tomorrow’.” Sequence sipped her tea and rocked in her chair gently. “Y’know, I don’t know much about your backstory, Mr. The Bard. Tell me about yourself!”
  17. Sequence shrugged. "It's a last resort. I'm willing to allow them to try at least a little bit longer to work out their differences..." Sequence sighed, and summoned a teakettle on a woven table near her chair. She poured three cups, took one, and offered the other two to Bacon and Hacob.
  18. She winced slightly. "Well, no... I don't think more violence will solve anything, but... Simply appearing to them, and attempting to teach them directly. Perhaps that could make a difference."
  19. Sequence grimaced. "... No. It's a religious war. I've been trying to foster life on this planet of mine, and it's gotten quite intelligent in some cases. I try to intervene as little as possible, but my slight nudges and interactions with them has led to the rise of... Well, religion. Two of them, to be clear. I've continuously tried all the subtle methods I can to foster peace, but despite my best efforts, they've gone to war. I'm still trying, of course, seeding peace and compassion in the minds of all, but It's difficult work, and is having little effect. I believe soon I will have to change tactics..." Sequence sighed and rocked in her chair slightly.
  20. "What about the Bookwyrm? Where's he been? He's been here... quite a long while, if my memory serves me correctly."
  21. "Impressive! I thank you for the offer, but perhaps another time. My energy must be focused elsewhere. See that down there?" Sequence pointed one finger off into the crystalline mountain range, and, barely visible in something of a crevice in the mountains, was a patch of green and blue, approximately the size of a large city, or small country. In it, two clusters of buildings sat on either side of the green, and fireballs and explosions bloomed in the fields between them.
  22. She looked a bit unsettled by that, but nodded solemnly. She nodded with the beat of the song. "Thank you for the visit. You're quite good at that piano! How long have you played?"
  23. She laughed. "Go ahead, I suppose. But, I wont fade into nothing! I have plenty to do here, and I believe my limited 'wisdom' may be of some value to some one day. I... am one of, if not the oldest Narrator still surviving, aren't I? Now that both Nameless and Thaidakar have departed?"
