  1. I know, I know, I posted 4 hours ago.. but...

I have the urge to read a YA series where one of the characters dies and the person they were in love with screams and people try to comfort them but fail leaving them in a pit of darkness for a good bit...

I suspect that the series I'm reading rn, Inheritance Cycle, will be that though, so...

Inheritance Games was fun but I really don’t like how the one bi character is a stereotype

      Remind me who that is?

Thea? I think? That might be her name.

I love character death. It's so much fun to torture myself with their sadness

  2. "I would've said Nameless," Micheal said. "Another person we can bring us is anyone who has a blade of Plot, but importance doesn't mean Feanor wants to kill them."
  3. Shadow sighed, standing up, "If he was..." Shadow shook his head. "Feanor mentioned in that encounter, as I can recall from the record, that he had a list of people he wanted to kill. We can assume that Thaidakar is on that list. But... who else? Who else could be on it? Spook, the about 24 year old, shrugged, "Well he seems annoying..." Thaidakar shrugged, "Well... I'm going to go take a nap. That mordite dagger is annoying." And, with that, he left the room. Feanor sighed, "how long must I deal with your failure?" The being rubbed his cloaked wrists. "Then I must give you another mission to help you accomplish your first one. Go to the shining isle in Havalinar. There you will find the scientist Rond. Tell him that you need his help in eliminating Thaidakar Von Kelsier and that this mission was given to you by Feanor, the son of Enlightenment and Revolution." He smiled, turning away from Drilk, I like him, he thought, but I doubt that he'll survive the ending... Too bad, I would've liked to show him the ropes of manipulating the flow of plot.
  4. *Dying inside*

I just reread some of my old status updates and... my gosh... a lot of those made me cringe at myself.

It's almost as bad as reading my old writing from years and years ago.

Reading old writing and stuff from years ago is weird bc it will be super cringy and I'll hate it and then there's this gem of incredible writing or a time when I was really cool and I'm just like what happened here?

  5. Shadow nodded, "The brave adventurer found more than he bargained for, didn't he?" Micheal blinked, "Wait- you mean-" "Shh!" Shadow put a finger to Micheal's mouth. Thaidakar gave a charming smile, "You are a bold one, Drilk, a very bold one..." Thaidakar's narration blade melted into a flock of birds which flew out the door behind him. "Move the blade away from my son." Spook raised an eyebrow, "Try to kill me, I dare you." Thaidakar gave him a strong look, but Spook said again, "If you try, you won't be able to." Maybe it was just the fact that Thaidakar wanted him to be quiet, but Spook wanted to be more involved. Everyone(non personified) kept thinking he was unable to do things, that he was somehow weaker. No, he wanted to prove that he was at least as good as them if not even better. So, therefore, he must prove himself more than he already had.
  6. "I suppose, I-" Thaidakar raised a claw. "Drifted ones... let's get the job done." He turned to Insa and nodded, "I wish you luck. For the Creator. For the Clinic." And, with that, Thaidakar and the other dragons charged into the thousands, ripping through them with a combination of fire, claws, teeth and just smashing them to pieces. Thaidakar himself breathed a pillar of red energy down onto them, melting them. Of course, they weren't doing a very good job of taking out all of them, just a large chunk. In a distant place, a being sat down in a chair, it's mechanical suit scratching the stone. the creature smiled, or did as best it could to smile. It was hard to do so with a beak. King Chickeee was very much alive and planning. A voice whispered, "The war has begun... The target is almost ready to be attacked. Wait till the conflict is over. We must make their side win otherwise we will not have our chance." "Yes, my lord..." the chicken said in the suit. "I will do what I must."
  7. "Narrators are mostly invincible. It varies greatly," Micheal said. "Nameless died, if I remember from what everyone was saying, from Moni here." Shadow shook his head, "No... I don't think so." Micheal turned with a surprised expression, "What do you mean?" "If Moni's Author will allow, I think Moni would be the best to say it," Shadow said with a soft smile. "I've suspected for a long time and I think I finally understand completely."
  8. "The real question is, what isn't he planning?" Shadow asked sarcastically. "Perhaps a professional on the workings of TLT could tell us... hmm... Too bad Nameless seems to be gone."
  9. ikr- It's insane that the random stuff I shoved into the rp back in December turned out to be relevant eventually- just like how Mythos's past might be relevant to something behind the scenes- "To find the other parts, shouldn't we find who gave the prophesy?" Micheal asked. "There aren't many oracles in TLT, at least to my knowledge. Or, well, accurate ones are even more rare.
  10. House Scythz'r 1) Intelligence 2) Military 3) Transportation 4) Resources 5) Cohesion (I will note, however, that Scythz'r is very proficient at all of these except for cohesion. They have military cohesion, sure, but as a nation... When I introduce them more in the role-play, you'll see) Ready
  11. "I remember the prophesy," Shadow said softly. "I think most of them are hogwash. But, considering recent events... that one could be credible. To an extent, at the very least."
  12. well, I've really just had this username for awhile since I kept trying to have a spoilery username (I will not give details, not for the reasons you think. I doubt even Chaos knows the full story XD) and Chaos removed my ability to change it. so...
  13. "Thaidakar is one of his targets, and I've heard that he has a list of people he wants to kill," Shadow said. "Perhaps he's going after the plot blades. He was supposedly shown in the vision at the Temple of Plot. Maybe if we go over that vision we can find out more in the depths of TLT." "We'll need all the help we can get," Micheal said, smiling at Ryss. The figure ripped the blanket off of themselves, revealing Spook, Thaidakar's son, sitting there, reading a book. "Lord Avringy just murdered Garethai! I can't believe the betrayal! I was practically moaning!" Behind Drilk, the informant smiled, the illusion melting. A Narration blade formed in Thaidakar's hand within a fraction of seconds. He slammed it into Drilk's arm carrying the dagger, either shearing it off or giving him intense pain. "Oh," said the Informant, aka Thaidakar, "Did you really think it would be that easy? You underestimate the fact that I've been in TLT for at least triple, if not quadruple, the time you've been here. I wouldn't have fallen for that if I was unconscious. Still don't know how Nameless got himself killed fully... He's been on double the amount of time I have, or something like that."
  14. I am, quite obviously, the person who the prophesy foretold of all those years ago... I, after all, was the Hulk in the thread, was in the barbershop, almost ate the sandwich, rode into the distance with it before it was taken... I am the chosen one! I am the King of the Sandwich! All bow before my sandwich-full-ness. All rejoice!
  15. What is the best @Experience you've had on the Shard? This is a question for everyone...
  16. "We will not kill him unless we have to," Shadow reassured her. "There will be many things to do to save the thread..." @Nameless* @Ancient Elantrian Sorry it took so long.
  17. "How long has it been?"

    "Only a moment."

Arc of the Scythe: The Toll.

    A masterpiece.

    The final story.

An ending that made me almost cry (this doesn't happen often in stories).

    The final entry.

Some of my favorite characters in Sci-fi.

I could go on and on about what I loved about this book, so I'm going to break the mold a bit and say some of the things I did not like with this note first:

I loved this book, I think it was amazing and the few issues I had with it are minuscule to what I loved about it.

    (spoilers ahead)

    1) I think Jeri's and Graysen's relationship was a bit... rushed. Despite it barely happening, I think I would've liked more of them developing before the ending. Don't get me wrong, I think they're great. But I'd just wish they'd had more time... *

    2) Rand. Scythe Rand was mishandled the entire trilogy. Really, I love her, but she doesn't get the amount of screen time in the first or second book to set up the third book well nor do we get her and Tyger at all. I wanted them to be foreshadowed better because it would've made Rand a lot better

    3) I didn't like the fact that the F word and one or two S words were in it. When I get my physical copy of it, I'm gonna have to scratch those out.

    4) Cirrus felt weird, like they weren't their own character, just young adult form Thunderhead. I wish they would've gotten more of a separate voice and personality.

    5) Goddard's ending was weird. Though I did want Rand to kill him, I don't think it was executed in the way I would've wanted.

    6) and... that's it.

I really loved this book and would recommend the trilogy to anyone. The timeline thing at the beginning was a bit weird, but I loved it. I can see how people would be confused by it and, perhaps, hate it. This is second place for my favorite Scythe book, the first one being the best, obviously XD. Thunderhead is my least favorite. Felt a little... weird. It left a bad taste in my...

    Heheheh, pun.

Anyways, I loved the trilogy and can't wait to read Gleanings.

I hope whatever new books in the series that Shusterman is working on-according to his TikTok that I stumbled upon while looking up stuff about the movie adaptation-are good.

    Thaidakar, out!

*I had other issues with the relationship, but like- it's not pertinent to be discussed on the Shard really, unless it's in a PM, which I'd be glad to if anyone wants me to. But be aware, what I say could offend you unintentionally. Then again, it could be argued that it's intentional- but like... In advance, if you do PM me about it, sorry. P.S. if the mods don't want me to talk about anything like this either in a PM or out, I would be glad to not talk about it if they see this.

It's a fantastic book isn't it! I agree with your criticisms and would love if you would pm me about those issues. Only if you want tho :D

I might have enjoyed Gleanings more than Thunderhead actually!! Also!!! Read more books by Neal Schusterman! I have absolutely adored all books by him except one but I should have seen that coming. His Unwind series is phenomenal and Dry is one of my favorite books ever!

Oh sure, I'll PM you about it in a minute or so, if you want to hear it. Then again, remember that it might offend you and I don't mean to do so on purpose.

Really? I can't wait to read it then.

I don't get offended easily so don't worry. People are entitled their opinions.

It's really good! I hope you can get it soon!

  18. XD. I love TLPW very much too, don't get me wrong there, but I love TLT far more.
  19. Hah, TLT will forever be better, but you can keep your opinion (though it's a wrong one).
  20. It will really be protesting, just under the label of rioting.
  21. *shrug* I mean... but riot sounds cooler
