Here’s even more memes!!

I saw a topic for movie trailers for the first 3 SA books, where basically people would write out a script for a trailer. I think it would be really fun to do that with RoW, so here you go. (Try to make the trailers as exciting but non-spoilery as possible. Imagine someone who hasn’t read the book is going to see it) Now go and make one!!!

I really hate this theory. It seems like a way for Brandon to get out of having to really make a superclimax scene. Also, Mr. T specifically says to Dalinar “No, your true Ideal is never giving up, no matter the cost. Do you realize the pride in that sentiment??”, (Or something like that, I do these quotes from memory), and Dalinar not even trying because it’s a child, just giving up, is kind of against his character arc.

There’s a theory that I’ve seen a couple of times, which is that Siah Aimians are somehow descended from honorspren. Let’s look at the similarities between Syl and Axies The Collector (the only Siah Aimian we’ve seen) They are both a blue white color. They can both change their form (though in different ways) at will. They both don’t seem to believe they can die, and physical harm is either (for Syl) pretty much nonexistent and (for Axies) it either doesn’t affect him as much, or he just doesn’t really care. (it was thought spren couldn’t die until that RoW “today we have found out how to kill spren” scene). Axies casts a shadow the wrong way (stems from a connection to the Cognitive Realm, where spren live) Brandon has said that Siah Aimians are “extremely long-lived”, like spren, which are effectively immortal. I think that’s all (so far) that we know. Tell me what you think!!

Actually, Taravodium might not want to find a way out of the deal. From his perspective, now he can save the world. He likely feels he can't do that if he breaks his promise, since he may be Splintered. He might be okay with killing Dalinar for the "greater good". His definition of a monarch is someone who stains themselves with blood so that others don't have to. He might consider being Odium to be the same thing.

I think that maybe it'll be about knowing when to let people protect and help themselves. Kaladin can't stand people in Bridge Four to get hurt, and he is incredibly protective of them, even though they can protect themselves. Maybe "I will allow others to protect themselves"?? Also, I'm really hoping that by swearing the Fifth Ideal, Kaladin gets a Ryshadium. That would be hilarious. Ooh! Maybe it's " I will protect myself so I can continue to protect others"!

I’m always confused when everyone is “Oh, I’ve hated so-and-so for forever!!!” Because often it’s someone (like Adolin) who I’ve liked as a character for a while (since the WoR Kaladin-challenges-Amaram-and-goes-to-jail series of events.) You know, since I’m already talking about how Kaladin challenges Amaram in WoR, I’m wondering what people do when they read that part. So, I’ve been re-reading WoR (for the...7th time, maybe? I’ve lost count...) and one of the things that stood out to me was Shallan’s flashbacks. Now, I know there’s a lot of hate for Shallan out there, but I actually really like her and her flashbacks especially. I was wondering what you guys thought about the WoR flashbacks. Now, some ground rules: (because of the aforementioned Shallan-haters) Be respectful. If you don’t like her, fine, but be kind, please. This isn’t a breakdown of “this is why I hate Shallan in book so-and-so” I’m specifically talking about the chapters in WoR about her past. All opinions are welcome, but again, be nice I’m excited to hear what you guys think!

The Heralds (and Radiants) helped the humans to victory. Now, the Fused and singers use the traditions of the past, but the new Radiants find new ways to do things. I assume that’s why the new Radiants are doing so well.

What’s your theory?? (The suspense is killing me!!)

It would void the contract because any side attacking the other before the contest forces that side to be in the other’s power, and that would (I think) stop the contract.

I agree that the child champion theory is unlikely. I just think it would be like the most anticlimactic thing ever. Just imagine. Taravodium: Oh haha Dalinar fight Gavinor whatcha gonna do now Dalinar: I choose honor I will doom the whole world THE END Dalinar needs to be strong enough to face this. What’s the point of “uniting them” if you just doom everyone to die?? I want someone as a champion that Dalinar would have a hard time killing, but he overcomes it instead of crumbling and just giving up. Also, here’s a theory I came up with two minutes ago: It seems like if Syl would die, Moash would be the one to kill her. Since Syl is on Dalinar’s side, if she was attacked and/or killed, or any bonded Radiant spren for that matter, wouldn’t that void the contract and allow Taravodium to be destroyed?? Anyways, tell me what you think.

That’s weird. If I wasn’t told that it was RoW, I would have thought that it was the Battle of Thaylen Field...

Okay, thanks. Wasn’t sure if that had been confirmed or not. I like Dalinar better as a person to unite them, his past makes it even more interesting (though he makes me very frustrated sometimes, see my post in the Unpopular Opinions topic to see one of many examples).

Wow, didn’t think so many people would respond to this so fast. So glad that you aren’t all, “It has to be a child champion because that would work so well!!!”, because if that did happen, it would be a teensy bit anticlimactic. I support the Gavilar theory, because Also, is anyone else wondering if Gavilar was chosen to receive the visions first, and Dalinar’s the (better) replacement?? In RoW, doesn’t Gavilar say something about “uniting them”? Was that from visions, and he just didn’t let anyone know because they would think he was mad and it would tarnish his precious legacy, or was that just another part of his “I will be immortal and live forever” speech? (I think of it as a speech, even though he was just talking to Navini. He was saying he was going to become a god!!) Anyways, keep posting your theories!!
