  6. She had missed, the glengal shifting so her strike missed the space between plates. However, her soulsense, spread so she could see the entire fight, allowed her to witness Kaeni's attack and learn how to defeat the glengal. "Mercury!" she yelled, "Get it from above!" At the noise, the glengal's tail arced toward her, barb aimed straight for her chest. She stumbled backwards a few steps, then tripped on a rock and fell backwards, her head hitting the ground not quite hard enough to daze her. I should have practiced my falls more! The glengal's aim shifted as she moved, and she rolled to the side as it was about to hit her. It missed her chest, but hit her arm. Her sword arm. She cried out as fire shot through her arm, down to her fingertips and up into her chest.
  7. Yes! Finally! E;la darted in again, closer, to the point where the glengal couldn't get out of her reach without going through the wall, and she shoved her sword, coated in soul magic, between two of its plates.
  8. This is definitely a cult.
  9. "Yep, I'm ready." Lenne shouldered her pack. She didn't trust horselike animals. They knew too much.
  10. Death definitely counts as jeopardy.
  11. E;la dodged around the glengal, trying to pin it against a rocky wall and flank it. She ignored everything outside this fight, her soulsense focusing only on the tiny circle where she and Mercury danced with the monster. Mercury's soul felt more crackly than normal. If she could just get the glengal to slip up and turn its injured side toward Mercury... She drew her knife, then tried to dash closer. The glengal slipped backward, just out of her reach, nearly to the wall. So close... She stepped back a bit, dodged the glengal's swipe at her, and widened her soulsense for a moment, noticing a fiery soul behind her. "A little help, Kaeni?"
  12. I think I knew how to use blades before I wore skates. rats, i can't say i've never burned a book because i have it was a bad book tho, it deserved burning NHIE crashed a car. (I almost did once, but I didn't.)
  13. My sister is listening to The Lost Metal on her phone and she reached a specific part in The Lost Metal where you learn a specific thing (not telling, but maybe you can figure it out) and I showed her the cover of Secret History (which I got for Christmas! ) and said "diamonds" and she threw her phone on the floor.
  14. Neither. Potatoes are just naturally Shardblade-proof. (Clearly! )
  15. There's this one hotline thing you can text or call and get help with helping suicidal friends. I would suggest using this if you're okay with talking to knowledgeable strangers about it. The strangers will never know who you are. You're not required to tell them anything about you or your friend IIRC. I don't remember it, but I could probably find it for you if you want, or you could probably find it just by looking it up.

  17. Potatoes have eyes, right?

So if you hit a potato with a Shardblade, do the eyes burn?

Also, normally if you destroy a potato's eyes, it can grow new ones. If you hit a potato with a Shardblade, can it grow new eyes?

      that makes perfect sense, Fadran.

Ahem. You can't hit a potato with a shard blade. The blade would just explode. Such is the power of the potato.

      *Bows*

No, only on Roshar. They've got fifty percent more potato per potato there. On Earth they're simply shardblade-proof.

  18. I think of Nahel bonds more as if when you make them, you gain a younger sibling, one that you are duct taped to and will be for the rest of your life (so you'd better get along.) Sooo yeah... the idea of Kaladin and Syl starting a romantic relationship seems squirmy and scummy to me.
  19. Chasm stepped over to the gray section, hugging the wall. She wasn't sure exactly why she did that, but she felt like it fit somehow.
