Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar
Quivil replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Um. Guys, here's a thing... I can't be on at all in Night 7 if the rotation continues as-is, because I don't Shard on Sundays. Everyone knows this about me. Since Archer got NK'd (ed1t: and the Shaman's dead), we (ed1t: probably) can't trust whoever holds Pailiah to protect Araris, and if I'm not on at night I can't protect myself/Araris either. If I decide to Shard this Sunday, I'll probably get banned from the Shard entirely for a while, and definitely get banned from Sharding on Sunday. Basically if the current day/night cycle isn't changed, the Elims get another free shot. @AshbringerIf we complain enough/agree that we want the Night turn extended for a few hours, would you do it?- 1292 replies

I'd also rather kill Silho. However, since there appears to be a greater likelihood of e!Inity, I should probably vote there. Thanks!- 1292 replies

Unpopular Brandon Sanderson Opinions
Quivil replied to not an Evil Librarian's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I like almost all of the jokes in Sanderson's books. There are some of Wit's that I hate tho, because they're immature and feel icky to me. (like the "my job is to give insults" one) -
Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

*hugs* That sounds incredibly disappointing and frustrating. -
Chasm dropped the others' wrists and jumped through the circle of flame. The situation felt dangerous, her wind hadn't done anything, and she didn't want to be cornered in a spot where the flame caster would expect her to be.

Chasm's wind roared to life around her, whipping at her hair and clothes as she stepped closer to the flames. She sent the wind hurtling hard and fast against the flame right in front of her, grabbing the wrists of the others, hoping to pull them outside. @Ookla the Quark

... you could be Ookla the Pyromaniac, if that's not already taken... then people will probably still recognize you when you go back to normal...

Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar
Quivil replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alright, this makes sense. Silho Elk Yes, this will cause a tie. At this hour I'm mostly okay with that. If we need to and if I'm mentally able to do SE I can consolidate later. Well, IIRC Kas was suspicious of them and then he died. I may be remembering incorrectly, if so please correct me. Also, I thought it was rather interesting that Elk had been quite inactive and I noticed them becoming a little more active about an IRL day or so after we started hypothesizing an inactive elim team, around the time we started trying to pick out who among the more inactive folk was elim. Again, I may be remembering incorrectly. My memory has never been very good, and right now my emotions are a bit of a wreck, so I trust my memory less than normal.- 1292 replies

*checks OP* Wait. JNV's dead. *facepalm* I was probably looking at the wrong list of players when I made the list of living players I'd played with. Sorry. And then I actually forgot once we started talking about peoples' reads of JNV. I think my brain is slightly broken.- 1292 replies

I don't know. I feel like in general it could go either way - it could be weird or it could be tunneling. In Aman's current case, since I haven't seen any evidence of tunneling, it does feel weird, but a niggling sort of "Hmmm, suspicious. I'm going to watch you closer" weird, not a gutwrenching kind of weird.- 1292 replies

Daalna had heard of this kind of thing happening in other towns, but had never seen it herself. She had never experienced the bone-chilling fear of wondering if you would be next, the helplessness of seeing nothing and knowing less. It was... interesting. She had been looking for one of these situations - for scholarly purposes, of course. Now she just hoped she survived. Um??? Edit: Oh, you mean the part about Ash having a pinch-hitter, not the part about Turtle being filter-killed. Sorry, I misread that.- 1292 replies

Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar
Quivil replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I haven't played in a while. Here's a list from the living: Araris, JNV, Aman, Archer, and myself. As to your second question, all I know about it is that I've been called one. I thought it was a fun label and kept it. Sorta like gremlin. When you say things like that, are you being asked if you're elim? Whenever anyone in this game asks anyone else if they're elim, the answer they expect is "no" because who would say yes? This is why almost nobody asks anyone else "are you elim" in these games. There's not even body language to go off of, so asking someone if they're elim is pretty much an entirely useless question. Why would any elim want to out themself? If you were elim, and someone asked you if you were elim, would you answer truthfully or lie in self preservation?- 1292 replies

Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar

Protection doesn't stop Tension, it only stops kills. At least, as far as I know. Silho's statements recently are making me nervous. They feel... off somehow, in several posts. It feels to me kind of like they're meant to push V!Silho overly strongly, and it worries me, especially since I already read Silho null-negative. Someone please help me stop being concerned over this it's probably nothing or possibly another instance of Cash but it still worries me and has for a while- 1292 replies

K, so at this point we're pretty sure it's Elk, right? Should we maybe talk about who the other elims might be? Those who didn't submit the kill? And connections with Elk?- 1292 replies

Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar
Quivil replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Do you want those with protection blades to claim their past actions, or leave the Elims with the 50%-chance-of-failure umbrella covering about 3-4 people? I and the other protection blade holder could flip a coin every night and say who we're flipping between. Also, in this case it matters less what we do and more what the elims think we'll do, so we could RNG if we need to for which of the three cycles we skip if we need to skip for Stormlight reasons. Oh yeah, the question from last night. Just a minit, I'll hunt it up-- I didn't use Progression C4 because of what happened to Kas C3 - I wanted to have stormlight left over on C6, so the elims wouldn't get another free/blockless kill. The C1 self-protect was because I had been entirely inactive for much of that cycle, and get the feeling that when I'm inactive C1 I'm NK'd then more often. I wanted to live longer than that. Edit: Yep.- 1292 replies

Nope, the answerer is supposed to actually respond to the question, and then the asker is supposed to change the question.

Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar
Quivil replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is a good idea, thank you. I'll adjust it for further cycles and use it forever. (In this game, at least.) Honestly I would bet that it's a mix of those - there are some blades Ash purposefully decided to absolutely not give to the Elim team (like Chana) so they wouldn't be overpowered, but the rest of it is mostly or entirely random. Then you get the best of both worlds - balance AND trolling! Edit: I was going to wait for someone else to post, but I've decided that it's too late in the day for me to wait much longer, so I should probably just do this now. I noticed that people were posting updated reads lists. Here's mine: V: JNV, Archer N+: Araris, Aman N: Inity, Turtle N-: Silho, Elk I don't have any solid elim reads ATM- 1292 replies

Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar
Quivil replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'd really rather not, but ok I have Vedel's blade. C1 I protected myself, C2 I protected Kas, C3 I had no stormlight, C4 and 5 I haven't used it (yet.) Tonight I'll be protecting myself, since the elims now know my blade.- 1292 replies
