In Feruchemy, there is a certain amount of Investiture that you can store in a piece of metal, but it is not linear .This means that physical size of the container is not everything. If it were, any increase in mass of the Metalmind would equally increase the amount of Investiture that could be stored. So, this seems to mean that the Cognitive or Spiritual aspects could be even more important than the physical aspect, which makes sense since Investiture is mostly Spiritual in it's composition, so that's where most of the "mass" of the Investiture would be stored. I would suggest then that it may be possible to increase the amount of Investiture that could be stored inside a Metalmind without increasing it's physical size either by expanding it's Spiritual aspect, or by manipulating it's Identity, which is the trait that defines the Spiritual borders of an object or entity.

Ah. Yeah, that would be a problem. However, it would be somewhat difficult in a practical situation, assuming that the spike was completely under the skin (that can be done, right?)
-
You mean after someone spikes them they could heal back they're piece of soul? Yeah, you could do that, assuming that the power they took wasn't your healing power, which would likely result in your death.

Is it just me or is soulcasting really op

The only Twinborn type name that I know currently is Wax's A steel/F iron, which is a Crasher. Anybody want to help me come up with some ideas for the other potential twinborn names? (here's some of my own ideas ) A pewter/F gold; Marauder A tin/ F bronze; Superseeker (due to being able to Feruchemically store Bronzesense) A electrum/F chromium; Diviner A bendalloy/F steel; Blitz A pewter/F brass; Forescout A tin/F zinc; Sherlock Holmes A pewter/F chromium; Spiderman

Normally, a Forgery must be plausible to take. For instance, trying to turn a Scadrian with noble blood into a Misting would be more likely to take than trying to turn a Rosharan with no relation at all with Scadrial into a Misting. However, we've seen with other Cosmere magics that certain "unbreakable" rules of the magic system can be broken; you can Steelpush on metal inside people, you just need a lot of Investiture. You can Awaken a non-organic piece of matter, you just need a lot of Investiture. You can damage a supposedly indestructible Honorblade, you just need a lot of Investiture. So, with that in mind, could you create a Forgery that is so implausible that it shouldn't be possible work if you charged it with enough Investiture? For instance, if I create a Forgery of a completely fictitious person, then apply it to a random person who I have no idea what there past is, could I get it to work by forcing enough Investiture into the stamp?

Can Feruchemical Nicrosil Store All Types of Innate Investiture?
Trusk'our posted a question in Cosmere Q&A
We know that it is possible to store Bio-Chromatic Breaths inside a Nicrosilmind, which is essentially just a small piece of Innate Investiture. Does this mean that if someone from Scadrial, Roshar, or some other Shardworld where people have innate Investiture but who don't have any Invested powers, could they store their Innate Investiture as a Nalthian could store their Breath? Or is there a difference between a Breath gained from someone else and your own, personal Breath?- 2 replies

Let's say you Awaken a Lifeless. Then you show it a picture of a particular person and Command the Lifeless to believe that it is that person. Then you give it an Unsealed Goldmind and let it tap healing. Would the Lifeless's physical aspect change to match the picture of the person you showed to it?

From what I can tell, you need to stab someone's heart in order to charge a Hemalurgic spike with their Spiritweb. If this is the case, then would someone who had a Hemalurgic spike implanted in their heart be functionally immune to having their Spiritweb being stolen from other Hemalurgic spikes, since that bind-point is already filled?

A "chickis-iar", if you're on Roshar then?

Investiture Level of Hemalurgic Spikes Based on Metals
Trusk'our replied to Duxredux's question in Cosmere Q&A
So are you asking if you charge an iron spike Hemalurgically and a tin spike Hemalurgically, they will possess different levels of Investiture? I would think that would be the case. After all, different Allomantic metals burn at different rates because the different abilities do different amounts of "work", and powers that do more work require more Investiture, thus making the metals burn faster. With this being the case, I would guess that Hemalurgic iron would take a larger amount of Investiture than tin when taken from a human, as added strength seems to be more costly than added senses, and the other metals should follow suit, I would think. -
I think that if a gold Ferring or full Feruchemist were to receive a boost of healing from the Surge of Progression, they would be able to store that for later use. I don't think that the Surge of Gravitation would allow someone to store extra physical speed in a Metalmind though; Feruchemical iron would be more likely to have important interactions with the Surge of Gravitation. I think another way that a gold Ferring might be able to hack the system and gain extra healing stored away would be to get some Bio-Chromatic Breaths and store the extra health they get from the Heightenings. Divine Breath healings might also be able to be stored if done at just the right moment. It also may be possible for an Allomantic pewter/Feruchemical gold twinborn to store the accelerated healing they get from burning pewter in a Goldmind. So basically, I think that any form of healing that a gold Ferring gets could potentially be stored for later use.

they could also just cough up the extra metal, assuming that it hasn't gone further down the digestive tract than the stomach.
-
Ah, I see what you're saying now. I think that you may be able to see a minor improvement to healing a specific injury at the cost of aggravated allergies and a diminished immune system, as tapping health from a Goldmind doesn't seem to follow the exact way natural healing works, even if sped up a significant degree.

Awakening seems to be an extremely versatile manifestation of Investiture. I was wondering, if a skilled Awakener understood the mechanics of another magic system, could they command some Breaths to enhance another manifestation of Investiture? For example, if an Awakener were to Awaken a Hemalurgic spike with the intent of having the Breaths mimicking and enhancing the spike's normal performance, could you get a Hemalurgic spike primarily powered by Bio-chromatic Breaths? Could you take this one step further and Awaken an Allomancer who had blanked their Identity and use your Breaths to enhance the Connection that person had to Preservation, thus enhancing their Allomantic power?

It is possible to change a person's gender, although it could be a little more difficult than most Forgery you would normally accomplish, it sounds. However, if a creature's gender is determined by an external factor, such as incubation temperature, then it should be much, much easier to accomplish. -
If a Kandra managed to get a large enough skeleton made of nicrosil and then used compounding to fill it enough to create a perpendicularity, what side effects would there be for the Kandra constantly toting around a perpendicularity?
-
Okay, that's a fair point.

Nightblood wasn't originally as powerful as it is now, it grew in power over time by absorbing the Investiture of those it destroyed.
-
If you were to give a Threnody Shade a couple hundred Breaths, would it's nature be greatly effected since it would be comprised mostly of Endowment's Investiture rather than Ambition's? If you gave it thousands instead, would it potentially gain greater sapience, maybe even return it to full cognition, similar to a Radiant Spren?

Well, he still has to worry about certain Shards, and has mentioned before in the Way of Kings that he very well could die if Odium discovered him there. So he would have to lie low or risk being destroyed by divine intervention.
-
I'm a little confused by the question, but I'll try to answer the best I can. When you heal from Investiture, you heal the most serious wounds first, and all other ailments afterword. I also don't believe that Wayne would be able to heal faster by storing his power while injured, as his injuries would heal at a slower rate while storing, and when he tapped the health he stored it would be as if he spent that time healing naturally. However, he would be able to heal from injuries that he normally wouldn't be able to if he did that.
-
Hmmm. Yeah, if he can't fight Fused then he probably couldn't fight Kel either. Unless he can fight Fused and he's simply been hiding from them to avoid Odium's observation...?
