  1. That's a good point. Virtuosity could easily be a combination of Whimsy and Invention. It would also kind of explain the difference in planets and their culture, with each being more or less impacted by a respective shard. I feel like Painter's planet could easily be closer to the aspect of Whimsy (given the nightmares and methods of fighting them) while Yumi's planet could be a world closer to Invention, given the emphasis on creativity and resourcefulness in both the society and magic we have seen so far.
  2. What I feel might be more intriguing is the fact that Hoid can "see" through Painter's eyes He also mentions later that he was informed that he was a good coat rack rather than knowing that he was from being the coat rack My personal theory is that he had a similar thing happen to him as Painter and Yumi, but with Painter less aware somehow.
  3. While I can't be certain, I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that his immortality had something to do with the Shattering of Adonalsium and the weapons they used to do it. Besides, his type of healing doesn't match up with Feruchemy because [Oathbringer Spoilers]
  4. While we're not sure the exact extent of this, I remember one kandra mentioning that kandra needed to be at least a certain mass to stay sentient, with a bunny being almost too small for them to handle regularly. While a large bird probably isn't out of the picture, I don't think they could do cremlings. I think the only spy-bugs we need to worry about come from the Sleepless. That being said, I wonder if a kandra can maintain control of a body part they intentionally lose. I know getting blown up or dismembered causes kandra flesh to act normal, but could a kandra essentially send out a scout for a short time?
  5. @Jellomancer, I kind of agree with your point that Sel would be the easiest planet for Kel to worldhop to, especially since he gained some Connection to Sel from infiltrating the IRE. Besides, the Investiture storm might not bother him since he's a cognative shadow. Heck, it might even help him since he might be able to absorb some of the stray investiture.
  6. I actually had a theory on this a while back. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them were lost in the ocean, or were thrown into Shadesmar somehow. Since we also know there are groups that stockpile perfect gemstones, why not stockpile shardblades? Nale and the Skybreakers seemed to be able to easily get Helrarin a shardblade and plate, and we've already seen them having other stockpiles throughout centuries. It's not unreasonable to assume someone might have a stockpile of shardblades somewhere, with how many secret societies are present on Roshar.
  7. I don't think we should put too much stock into what cardgames say unless we get a WoB saying that they're fully accurate. Besides, we've already seen a ton of cases where evil is a relative thing in the Cosmere, especially in the Stormlight Archive. I'm not saying that Mraize isn't evil, but knowing Brandon Sanderson, there's much more going on with the Ghostbloods than we have seen so far. It's possible that something like when we first saw the Singers, where they were much less evil than any of us suspected. As for Kelsier, I think it's relatively clear what he wants: to get off Scadrial and live long enough for it to matter. We know that the Ghostbloods are looking for a way to get around the Connection issue regarding Cognative Shadows and Investiture, so of course Kelsier wants to explore the Cosmere, but the fact that he specifically wants Investiture likely means that he knows this will prevent the decay of sanity for Cognative Shadows based on his experiences during Secret History.
  8. I don't think this is true mainly because of a WoB from a while ago, since Brandon Sanderson has said that Kelsier wasn't done on his path to becoming a better person by the end of TFE, and besides, Kelsier greatly cares about his friends at very least. All I see from his actions so far are that he's trying to do whatever he can to stay alive, not rule the Cosmere.
  9. My main thought was that Hoid was acting on Harmony's orders, and since Harmony can probably influence Kelsier because of his spike, I figured that they might be forced into working together, even indirectly. After all, Hoid and Kelsier both seem to be worried about Odium, Kelsier if just because he thinks Odium is a threat to Scadrial. My interpretation was that Brando was hinting that there was a Cosmere-wide teamup going around, and the coin was Harmony trying to recruit Wax to help behind the scenes. That may just be my wishful thinking though since these two are two of my favorite characters.
  10. I'm not so sure. I think that may have been Harmony's plan in trying to make Wax more Cosmere-aware, since we know from ROW that Harmony is looking for someone to act as his avatar, and I think Wax really fits that position. Am I the only one that thinks we might have a Hoid-Kelsier teamup?
  11. I don't know about the Era 3 thing, but you're right on Era 2. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if someone finds a way to solve it. Heck, I bet it might be as simple as wrapping the spren/herald in aluminum.
  12. Fair enough, I was just wondering whether or not it was confirmed. Plus the fact that he had priests probably means that he was not the main administrator
  13. Hold up, when did we hear that Kelsier has Breath? I'm pretty sure he didn't actually rule the South. The people there just refer to him as a great leader because he saved them all from freezing to death and gave them access to technology that revolutionized their society, but even that can't be fully contributed to Kelsier, since Anlak says that Kel only taught them how to make heat metalminds. They figured the rest out for themselves. I personally think Kel isn't fully responsible for two reasons 1: Kelsier is Iytalia's superior, not Mraize's, and Mraize hired a bunch of people under him. At best, Kelsier has three levels of underlings between him and the guys who murdered the stagecoachman's for the least. 2: Secret History showed us that Kel is starting to become a more empathetic person, and I'm pretty sure that Brando Sando has said that Kelsier's story isn't done yet, and even during TFE he wasn't as cruel as the Rosharian GBs. It's very likely that Mraize is acting without his direct authorization or knowledge, and only follows general orders of "Secure accesspoints to Shadesmere," "Find easy ways to get Investiture" and "Find a way to get me off Scadrial"
  14. But the release of energy from Investiture is usually of a specific type, not outward kinetic energy. It's the combination of the two that creates such a large explosion. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if [BoM] Either way, the release investiture is usually very specific to the magic system, and so far we don't know of any that directly cause explosions unless you count soulcasting something into both oil and fire, but I don't think that really counts
  15. I wonder if mixing all 16 would create Adonalism light
  16. I don't think he would have thought that he was putting himself at risk. After all, he probably didn't think that Odium would know to remove his Breaths. I think TOdium just tried to remove the memories to cover up that Rayse was dead, because Dalnier, Hoid, and Jasnah were kind of discussing a trap for ROdium based on their knowledge of the Vessel. I think TOdium is crafty enough to notice this, and so was trying to make it seem like Rayse is still alive.
  17. My bad, but I think that they're not so much inverting the Command as changing the passphrase so that they can add a new Command, since Lifeless can take new Commands easily
  18. I don't think this is right. If the Awakeners were somehow creating anti-investiture to Break Commands, we'd see lifeless explode, not get taken over, or at least have the Breath inside them destroyed.
  19. I don't think that it's the idea that stone holds memories, because we've seen that they are fine using metal and other sources if they're soulcast. My theory is that they are at least on some level Cosmere-aware, or at least somehow know that Adonalism originally created Roshar, and so they do not want to fiddle with His creation. This makes sense knowing what we know about Urithiru (that it probably wasn't made by humans) and that the Shin kept the Honorblades for centuries. Having access to those surely expanded their viewpoints
  20. He didn't edit them, but he did try to curse us out for making them earler in the thread
  21. Idk man, that pull for instant noodles is pretty strong
  22. 60: Hoid is not allowed to criticize Adonalism's creative style by saying that Roshar is stupid, or that he could do a better job
  23. I'm pretty sure the Fused are tied to Braize/Roshar because Odium is tied down to the system. If Roshar and Braize were to be destroyed in Book 5 of the Stormlight archive, they would be destroyed, or even if Odium is somehow freed from the system
  24. I don't think they'd be able to do this. Navani was able to do it because she already had access to voidlight to create antivoidlight, so it is possible that the investiture still has connection to the Shard it is attached to even when it is turned into anti-investiture. So for an Awakener to create anti-investiture, they'd probably have to use up some of their breath to make it. That is, if it were that simple to make it (Navani had to suspend the investiture in a vacuum to change it). But with those principles, no Awakener would make anti-Breath that way because doing so would probably kill them when it reacts with the person's remaining Breath. I actually think Nightblood was made the way he was as a weapon against the Shards while Ruin was still alive and here's why: Ruin should have been slightly more powerful than Preservation, even without the Atium, because Preservation didn't have his "body" either, and Preservation had still used more of his remaining power to create Humanity. Because of this, Ruin should have been more powerful, but why wasn't he? Because he wants everything to change. Including Shards It's been suggested that Harmony helped create Nightblood, but I just don't see it happening because A: Sazed doesn't know enough and B: Sazed would have known if someone was taking his investiture, but back to what I was saying earlier. So Ruin creates a weapon specifically designed to take in investiture, something that (because of Rhythm of War) we see can kill the Vessel of a Shard. Now, you may be asking why Ruin would do that if he was stuck on Scadrial, but the whole point of Book 3 was that he thought he wouldnt be. While the Vessels were dead, he could have easily splintered the power, or just used Nightblood to rekill the Vessel
