  1. Honestly, I'm wondering how he is going to appease those people (including me). I feel like alot of people are just done with him
  2. Does that mean that the stormforms could summon a second storm if there were enough of them?
  3. ...OK. But I would like to point out that with Brandon Sanderson, there is no such thing as reading too much into things! (Maybe there is. But I have yet to see it)
  4. That's a weird way to put it. They've lost their breath? Does that mean everyone in the Cosmere used to have a full breath, but that's no longer the case? Maybe when Adonalsium was whole, the extra investiture Endowment grants went to everyone, since Adonalsium was everywhere.
  5. I think that's the reason everyone wants him to play Wit, for some reason he's really good at being trictskter-y. But doesn't Wit have white hair, at least some of the time? I feel like seeing Tom Hiddleston with white hair would be weird
  6. That's a good point. Actually, I wonder how Nazh feels about this story. It seems like he doesn't know why Nicki wants the map, so to him this random girl is basically trying to kill him for no apparent reason. He's probably confused.
  7. I bet this is in a WoB or something and I didn't look hard enough. Sigh. But at least it's right!
  8. Some one else may have already theorized/talked to Brandon about this,, but if not, here goes: In the broadsheets for BoM, Allomancer Jak hires out his adventuring job to Nicki Savage, a young Leecher. Over the course of the book, we can see the majority of a story about her searching for a map which has been stolen by a guy with a gun that produces ghosts. From the expanded version of Allomancer Jak that we saw in AU, it seems like these stories are dramatized, (grammatically inaccurate,) but still true accounts of Jak's and Nicki's adventures. So, my theory is that the "haunted man" is actually a real Threnodite worldhopper. I think this firstly because he has a device for calling ghosts, which is the whole magic system on Threnody, and secondly because in the final broadsheet, when he and Nicki are fighting over the tapestry/map, he uses the expletive "Shadows!", which is what people on Threnody say. As we know that Nazh and Khriss are on Scadrial in this time frame, it's likely that this is actually Nazh. Further proof can be found in the map of New Seran at the front of BoM, which is heavily annotated in Nazh's handwriting. The first broadsheet tells us that the stolen map was of New Seran. And at the end of the story, the map rips in two ...the map at the front of the book is ripped along one side. Anyone else have any thoughts? (Sorry if I stole someone's theory)
  9. That's a good point, but that still means they naturally draw Investiture into themselves, even if it's through the storm's perpendicularity.
  10. Wait, so Brandon's saying that every chasmfiend, chull, singer, etc. has a mini perpendicularity inside them? That sounds like it could have some very interesting implications. Also, is it really true that you can spike a singer for their attribute of having a gemheart? That seems like it would be a fact of biology. Unless it's actually a perpendicularity, in which case you're stealing the singer's Connection to the Spiritual Realm! Or something! Now everything makes a certain degree of sense.
  11. I've been thinking about this. The reason Lift didn't fall unconscious seems to be her Lifelight. This is logical, because the Sibling is one of the few spren who remain communicative, and they also harness Lifelight (Stormlight also, but that's beside the point). However, the only surge Lift is able to access is Regrowth, just like Kaladin is only able to access Adhesion while the suppression fabrial is active. This makes me think that Regrowth is Cultivation's truest Surge. But Lift still isn't a Cultivation-Surgebinder, because it seems like anyone can access a Radiant bond. However, Odium has the Brands, which are his own special Surgebinders, which implies that the other Shards should have something similar. Basically, I think we'll end up with 4 types of Binding: Radiant, which anyone can theoretically access; Odium, which is the Brands; and Honor and Cultivation, neither of whom we have seen yet. Side point: If Honor and Cultivation have special Surges, what's Odium's truest Surge?
  12. Have they talked? I think those were the ones Syl said were spying for Odium.
  13. But are there really non-sapient Voidspren? IT's seemed that all the non-speaking Voidspren do actually report to Odium and have intelligence (thinking about the secret spren). Other than that, we've seen Ulim and similar, and the Fused. Have I missed anything?
  14. Even more than that - he tried to kill amaram in order to impress the Skybreakers so they would ask him to join them, I'm pretty sure
  15. I think Adolin was including his other duels in that statement, which adds another Plate and Blade.
  16. YKYASFW you get a nametag that says "Hello, I am ___" and the first thing you think to put in the blank is "Unity"
  17. But we really have no detailed info on Cultivation's exact plans, so maybe
  18. But with Atium, a Seer could conserve his energy by making the exact right strike in every exchange.
  19. (Time to be the one guy who disagrees with everyone) A seer has a chance at winning, because a gold compounder's only huge benefit is that he can heal. An atium misting has a huge combat advantage because of their allomancy. Although it's true that he can't permanently hurt his opponent, he can wear him down (still assuming equivalent burn times, like Chinkoln said). In Alloy of Law it is clearly implied that gold compounding doesn't improve stamina.
  20. Emperor's Soul has the most interesting Cosmere magic system so far, in my opinion. I would definitely go with amazing. I may be all alone, but I'm sticking to it!
  21. So does this mean that when the soldiers in OB talk about eating spheres to get Radiant abilities, they might actually be onto something? providing they are somehow from Scadrial? The only major problem I can see is that metal is made of investiture, so even though Allomancers eat it they burn it away. A gem full of Stormlight, on the other hand, is only containing investiture, which means they'd still have a gem sitting in their stomach - probably not so healthy.
  22. If BAM was the one big "Void"spren, then they'd all have the same form of power, and it's been pretty strongly implied that's not what happened, but you're most likely right that there was spiritual mumbo jumbo (there usually is, after all). A bridge makes sense, though.
  23. I was wondering about the creepy stuff Ishar was doing with forcing sentient spren to enter the Physical Realm. First of all, I'm pretty sure that this is not the same as a spren manifesting, since Cryptics can obviously survive manifestation. Instead, he seems to be forcing them to become physical beings instead of cognitive. So then: What would happen if he did this to a bonded spren? Would the bond simply disappear, since it can't exist between 2 physical beings? Would they both be Surgebinders? Or would it be something else? The theory I came up with is ridiculous, but a fun idea: What if the Nahel bond is defined as between 1 cognitive and 1 physical being, so when Ishar shoves the spren into the Physical Realm, the Knight is conversely shoved into the Spiritual? It doesn't make sense, but it would be fun!
