  1. Which Unmade was this, and what was it doing? Also, just thinking about BAM and the False Desolation - BAM giving parshmen forms of power with Voidlight doesn't seem to make so much sense to me, since to bring back the forms of power you'd need Voidspren, which had been banished to Braize. So my wacky theory is that BAM somehow made her own Light and gave them forms of power that way.
  2. In addition to being a Sanderfan, I play Magic a lot. Since Brandon is also a big Magic player, there are probably some other MTG people on here. As such, I thought I'd share some cards I created based on some Stormlight characters. Please feel free to add your own original cards. For reference, I used the "level up" from Rise of the Eldrazi, the "Bestow" mechanic from Theros, and the energy counters from Kaladesh. There was so much text on Kaladin it wouldn't all fit, so I'm including the text as well. Bestow {3}{r}{w}{w} Syl can only enchant a {r}{w} Human creature Flying, First strike Enchanted creature has "Pay 2{e}: Gain flying and first strike until end of turn. If it has 3 lvl counters, it gains +3/+3 for each 3{e} you have. If it has 4 lvl counters, it gets +1/+5 for every 4{e} you have. If it has 5 lvl counters, (TBD)" Level up {r}{r}{w}{w} Level 2—Add 3{e}. Whenever Kaladin Stormblessed is dealt damage, you may prevent that damage and pay that many {e} Level 3—Add 3{e}. You may search your library for a red and white Spren and put it onto the battlefield attached to Kaladin. Level 4—Add 3{e}. Whenever another target creature is dealt damage, you may create an enchantment attached to that creature called "Windrunner's Protection". It has "When this creature is dealt damage, you may pay that many {e} instead. Since we're not sure what the 5th ideal does, I didn't include anything for it. I can put it in in a few years when Stormlight 5 comes out.
  3. I'm pretty sure you have to burn one metal, then burn duralumin to enhance it, but aluminum absorbs instantly, so you wouldn't have a chance
  4. ok. That makes sense. Sorry
  5. This is basically what I meant, sorry if it wasn't clear. What I meant was she'd likely create whatever bronze is common on Roshar automatically.
  6. Since Soulcasting is totally based on Identity, it would probably depend on the alloy of bronze that Jasnah is most familiar with. If it happens to be similar to Scadrian bronze, then it would work.
  7. When you see a QR code and go, "Whoa! A Forgery!" before reality hits, at which point you feel sad for a moment before having to move on in your actual life. sigh.
  8. For all the orders, the fifth ideal is the one that makes them "become" the main idea for their order. For Kaladin as a Windrunner, that would mean he somehow "becomes" protection or something. The way I imagine that is that as opposed to fighting, whenever he arrives he just stops the fight. My prediction is that he'll make it to the back 5, but be restricted in actual action by the fact that he can't stand fighting, so when the main arc 2 characters have to go out on a quest or to war, they can't bring him because that would defeat their purpose. (I don't know if this makes sense to anyone else)
  9. So like a starspren, but a moonspren? Cool idea. So then what happened when they switched? The spren came to the Physical Realm, and the queen went to the location of Roshar's moon in Shadesmar?
  10. Is it possible that there are somehow people on the moons of Roshar, or something like that? Not necessarily human people, but people?
  11. Although this isn't directly about a Radiant v. a Mistborn/Allomancer/Feruchemist, it's related. Wht would happen if you took Hemalurgically invested metal and used it to make a fabrial cage? Could you build a Fabrial that would do Allomantic stuff, but powered by Stormlight (or vice versa)? My bet is that you could make some weird effects with that, like making a pewter cage that's been Invested via Hemalurgy to make a super, super powerful fabrial of some kind.
  12. (Hey, my guess was pretty good!) Thank you
  13. We know that whenever a Shardblade gets summoned, it appears covered in liquid, and when someone becomes heavily Invested, frost (lowercase f) appears. I've always wondered why that happens. My current theory is that when something manifests in the Physical Realm, it takes the kinetic energy from the world around it, down to the individual atoms. This makes the water in the air around a person or Shard change state, becoming liquid or nearly solid. Anyone else have an idea?
  14. It seems like Surgebinding is just a natural type of magic native to the Rosharan system. The animals on Roshar learn to harness the surges without any words (for obvious reasons). It doesn't really seem to be specific to a certain Shard. There are spren associated with each one - honorspren, Voidspren, cultivationspren - but in general it's simply a thing that happens on Roshar. Khriss says that she isn't sure if Surgebinding existed pre-Shattering, but it seems like a definite possibility, so as a whole the system likely doesn't come from a Shard.
  15. Galladon clearly considers himself not Arelish, and the Shaod still takes him. I'd guess that it's genetic, otherwise his intent (lowercase i, I think) would affect that.
  16. Thanks! Also, how did she manage to get there?
  17. How do we know this? (It's probably in Mistborn: Secret History, which I'm in the middle of, right?)
  18. Seriously? Why on earth - or Roshar, in this case - would Shai be there? How did she get there? And isn't there going to be an Emperor's Soul sequel? Could you post the WoB for me, if it's out there? I want to see this
  19. In The Emperor's Soul, Shai gets caught because she's betrayed by her accomplice, the Imperial Fool. That's Hoid, right?
  20. I was thinking that, but I'm not sure - do we know if the white clothing was a Shin thing, or just Szeth's own choice?
  21. That is a very cool theory, and it would fit with having each story being some reference to Rosharan history
  22. The story of Nomon and the Natanatan queen seems like the kind of ancient origin myth you get in Greek or Norse mythology, but could actually be based on some weird thing with an early Natanatan queen and a magical moon related thingy - I can't think what exactly
  23. I'll bet it's something like "Knife of W____ Truth" - knife because he was an assassin, and truth because the Shin have some whole thing with that
  24. All these theories are really cool. But one point: The other representatives, the ones who came in before our friendly Skybreaker, also seemed like Rosharans. They had very ornamental armor, like Shardplate, and Dusk sees a vision of his body with his face smoking - eyes burned out with a Shardblade? Finally, one of them is described as speaking the language of the homeisles like a native, so maybe one of them is a Willshaper, who can learn languages the way Dalinar learned Thaylen in OB (I think that's Willshapers)
