  1. OK, I have a character name: Jes (I mentioned this earlier, but the OP hasn’t been updated with that yet, so I’m double checking that the GM saw this)
  2. Why does this keep happening to me? WTWTTSW you are trying to say the third ideal of the windrunners.
  3. Don’t worry. There’s only a very small chance of death. WTWTTSW you finish your third reread of the Stormlight Archive?
  4. Ohhh... So that’s where my talisman of elder evil went! I’ve been looking for that! WTWTTSW you accidentally set your kitchen on fire?
  5. Taln is really losing track of time . Okay, Oathbringer spoilers: How was Moash the only one who’s name didn’t change? Here are some translated book titles: Words of Radiance: Mistborn: The Final Empire The Hero of Ages
  6. Well, I haven’t done either of those things, but I do live in a foreign country, so I’m definitely familiar with google translate’s weirdness. How about some death rattles? Those are really weird already. Stormlight spoilers: And, in speaking of unity (more stormlight spoilers):
  7. This is awesome! I do this all the time on my own when I’m bored and need something to do. I’m glad to see it’s not just a me thing . To me, Hermione seems like the textbook definition of an Elsecaller. Always trying to improve themselves. Ron and Harry are a little more difficult. Maybe Bondsmith or Windrunner for Harry and Lightweaver for Ron? Some of his truths could be something about his insecurities or self-image. I haven’t finished ASoIaF yet, but Arya seems like a Willshaper. This is a bit more niche, but what about all the princesses from the She-Ra reboot? What would their orders be?
  8. That should be fine. It will just be interesting. So, I’m assuming, your action for the round is secret? For character, I’ll be Jes.
  9. This looks great, I was looking for a QF game! I’ll join, if It’s okay that I’m completely new and this is my first game ever. Character forthcoming.
  10. I’ve worked on making Cosmere-themed MTG sets before, so maybe I can give you some ideas. Here’s what I’ve come up with for Mistborn. Feel free to use any (or none ) of these. Be careful about adding too many keywords/mechanics though, use just what you need (minor Mistborn spoilers, I guess?). As for trending toward 2/2s and 4 mana cost, depending on what program you’re using to design the cards you may be able to get statistics of what your mana and p/t curve is. When I’m making a set I like to focus on making cool card designs first and then look back at what themes, CMCs, etc. the set needs more or less of and add them retroactively. There are also some programs out there (if you’re not using one already) like Magic Set Editor which help you create cards, so I would do some research into what might work best for you there. For art I can’t help you a ton, as I’m not great at finding art either. You may have to stretch for some art and names. Depending on how big the set is, finding art for all the cards could be really hard. There should be a lot out there, though. Here are some links to some articles written by MTG designers that may help you out: This talks about some complexity issues at the common rarity and above: https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/making-magic/new-world-order-2011-12-02 This is the first of 12 articles about the step-by-step of how WoTC designs magic cards (you shouldn’t follow this exact method unless you want to. Just use this as a guide): https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/making-magic/nuts-bolts-card-codes-2009-01-12-0 If you wanted I’d love to see your set once it’s finished (or still in design, if you want some feedback). You could take the art off the cards, of course. I may post my sets on the shard eventually too. Hope this helps!
  11. Kipo is great! Prepare to have songs stuck in your head. I’ve been watching The Owl House. Not all the episodes are out yet, but I’m loving it so far. Amity is so good! Definitely ship Lumity at this point. Oh, and King is adorable, of course.
  12. If I remember correctly radiants are protected from becoming a savant by the nahel bond. However, I do like the idea that Kal has some solely non-magical mental problems from holding so much stormlight. He’s also been exhausted lately, and, as some other said maybe using stormlight to counteract that somehow. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kal’s sudden change in attitude when he runs out of stormlight is some combination of an addiction/reliance on stormlight, and his body suddenly realizing he’s so exhausted without that stormlight.
  13. Page 41 . Yep! Though I’m not sure what they’re talking about with the pets. Sprinkle is completely happy as an undead fully alive weasel that has not drowned on multiple occasions.
  14. This makes sense to me, especially with how Syl describes it. It feels weird for me to have a fabrial be able to interact with someone’s spirit web to the point of weakening a nahel bond. It’s interesting that Kal and the edgedancer can’t use their stormlight to heal. I’ve always thought that stormlight will just heal you due to its nature as investiture while you hold it (similar to the energy boost it gives you), but maybe the fabrial repressing the healing implies otherwise.
  15. Hi! I’m all caught up on C2 and working my way through C1. You can probably guess who my favorite character is, but Caleb is a close second, though he hasn’t been taking as prominent a role in the Vokodo arc, I was so sad to find out that he had (spoilers for ~ep. 105 I think) Same! Though, according to the Explorer’s guide to Wildemount: So that could present some problems.
  16. I read Rithmatist first. That was, like, 6-10 years ago when I was a lot less adventurous about my reading than I am now, so I would only really read books from authors I already knew. That made it easy to get into reading even more Sanderson books. Huh. I don’t look at a ton of theories on The Shard, but I like the idea that Vyre’s knife could somehow be related to Nightblood and/or hemalurgy somehow, in addition to being a fabrial. Less that we could actually make fabrials in the real world, and more that fabrial science feels like a real-world science when characters like Navani talk about it in-world. Thanks! I’ll take a look.
  17. I love this! The world is so interesting. It feels like a lot of typical tropes blended into something new and much better. So far I’m not super hooked on Corrin, but Lacy and Aurora and their plot is really interesting. I’m excited to see where it goes. A few thoughts: Your lore drops are done so well. You make me really excited to learn more about the world. I’m especially interested in the relationship between the fey, demons, and humans. You wrote Lacy being tired really well. I can really put myself in her state of mind there. I feel like there’s something more to this than meets the eye. I like the idea of the d&d style class system, but it leaves me wondering how it works in a larger army, not just smaller units. However, whenever a character uses the word “fighter” it pulls me out of the story a little. It just feels kind of weird to me that it’s an official classification in an army. It’s a little strange to me that Charles picked out Lacy and Aurora to bully so quickly. Are they the only commoners here? It just felt like non-nobility were common in the magic school, and that Charles picks on the two so specifically. Just something I feel like I would want more explanation on. What going on with Dain? I love this mystery. It hooked me immediately. Hype!
  18. Not sure if anyone else has said this, but the way Syl describes how the fabrial effects her kind of reminds me of how copperclouds dull allomantic pulses. It’s probably not the exact same effect, I don’t think a coppercloud would turn off a surgebinder’s powers, but maybe they are related? Maybe the fabrial uses copper in the same way detector fabrials use bronze?
  19. Before I knew about the Cosmere I finished the Stormlight Archive and was looking for answers to some lore questions I had about it. I found the Coppermind first and discovered there were other books in the same universe as stormlight, so that was a pretty fun revelation. My favorite magic system is fabrials. I like how they feel like a science that could actually exist, and it’s fun to theorize about all the possible things you could do with them.
  20. Hello. I’ve been reading The Shard for awhile but finally got around to making an account (yay!). I’ve read all the published Cosmere. My radiant order is Truthwatcher. As you may be able to tell by my name, I am also a Critical Role fan, and Jester is my favorite character from C2.
