  1. Ok so the wax and Wayne series takes place after the timeskip right? at the end of Banda of mourning a “faceless immortal” with “softly glowing red eyes” appears that works with the set which to me sounds like possibly one of the mavset-im especially with its apparent disregard for its own life whcih seems even beyond a kandra, and that normal kandra lack glowing eyes. It also seems like taravangian as odium will be taking a great deal of interest in the wider cosmere and wants dalinar as his champion to affect it. on top of this the set is 110% odiums style they seem very similar to the diagram in a lot of ways. additionally Scadrial is a very easy target for odium like very very easy. Because the difference in caliber between troops and generals and everything is so vast it’s not even funny. Why it’s an easy target- 1. have no supply lines: you can’t cut them off, you can’t starve them, you can’t do anything to this, Scadrial needs to transport food and materials vast distances and if the rosharans seize the trains game over. this advantage is worth more than any other 2. Radiants: the power level between a radiant and nearly any thing Scadrial can deploy is nearly insurmountable. Only a twin born could hope to match one of the more advanced radiants and depending on who was the twin born and who was the radiant since its possibles fifth ideal radiant with enough skill potentially szeth or kaladin at the fifth ideal would be able to beat a full born who wasn’t particularly adept with their powers or was overconfident. additionally radiants are far more useful to an army then metalborn, the ability to fly with allows them to scout better, their ability to make instant fortifications using soul casting and stonewards or willshapers, the ability to heal people and fool the enemy with illusions are all insanely useful powers and we haven’t even seen what dustbringers can do but based on what we know they are probably just straight up tanks as in shardplate plus massive destruction=literal tank 3. experience: the troops on roshar are probably the most experienced, disciplined mortal troops we have seen in the entire cosmere. They have advanced tactics, troops who are disciplined enough to face down the what they believe are demons and not retreat. 4. shardbearers- the greatest warrior in scadriels known history has the feats equivalent of a skilled shardbearer 5. generals- Scadrial has no generals in fact I’d doubt it even has proper tactics detailed anywhere at least in the areas we know well because there hasn’t been a war in 300 years and nobody knows how to fight one. 6. aluminum- we know that soulcasters can create aluminum which means that they have the easiest acess to aluminum out of any world we have seen. Another important thing that provides another very good reason to attack Scadrial before anywhere else 1. the advantage in terms of commanders and experience disciplined troops will not last long, if they get a good taste of war they could with their tech become a legitimate threat to roshar so it’s prudent to take them out as early as possible. 2. guns: while many people will argue that guns are a reason Scadrial is dangerous and a tougher target then I may be making it out to be, you are only kinda right, because here’s the thing guns are exactly why roshar should attack Scadrial. guns are essentially the only advantage Scadrial has in terms of the military against other cosmere worlds especially roshar. metalborn are simply not numerous or dangerous enough to be a reliable source of military might rn and on top of that largely their powers are fairly useless unless deployed on a truly massive scale are nowhere near as helpful as the powers of radiants on the battlefield. So guns, if roshar attacks Scadrial and honestly they wouldn’t even need to invade they would just have to get to the planet kidnap some gunsmiths, engineers, scientists etc and grab a few crates of guns maybe a train car full and suddenly the pure insanity begins, if they managed to get ranette or aluminum guns they would be unstoppable. Imagine a group of edgedancer and a bondsmith working around the clock to soulcast perfect high quality aluminum gun components and suddenly the whole rosharan army is armed to the teeth and now there is 0 advantage to Scadrial and roshar is free to role over the cosmere. Basically- Scadrial is a very easy target for roshar rn but won’t remain so for long on top of maybe wanting to deal with the ghost bloods if they manage to get access to guns they will be the most dangerous army in the cosmere by far. If they even say idk kidnapped metalborn and bred them or used hemalurgy and had acess to three magic systems it would be insane. also the set is very similar to the diagram which makes me think taravangian may be responsible.
  2. This makes a lot of sense since hatred is often emotionally self destructive.
  3. Wob, Sanderson said he has limited influence on Scadrial Questioner Is there anything I should look at as a hint for something we haven’t figured out yet? Brandon Sanderson Oh, that's a good question too. There are moments through the entire original trilogy that people haven't figured out yet. But they've picked out most of what they are, they just don't know why. Like they know something weird is happening, they don't know-- They haven't guessed why the weirdness is happening. The weirdness is figure-out-able, but it would be hard. But it's not outside of reason for you to figure out why these certain moments-- these moments people have not yet figured out. Questioner Because Odium had influence on Scadrial. Brandon Sanderson Yes. Not a ton, but yes. Questioner ...Kelsier had an irrational hatred for Nobles. Brandon Sanderson He did, he did indeed. Shadows of Self release party (Oct. 5, 2015)
  4. Especially because we know odium had some influence on Scadrial and my theory is it may have to do with kelsier and the noble hatred thing. I think odium is trell especially based on the fact that trying to take out Scadrial early makes a lot of sense, rn roshar has by far the best most dangerous, disciplined, trained and experienced armies and magic users in the cosmere. The only disadvantage they have is technologically if say you managed to kidnap a couple gunsmiths and grab a few crates of guns you could get people soul casting ready made perfect aluminum guns and tons of gun powder (since you can soulcast stuff into aluminum). Plus the set is very much taravangians style and have red eyed “faceless immortals” which to me sounds like mavset-im the lightweaving fused I think kaladin may be what you’re proposing and that’s why he is called son of tanavast and has been star powers either kaladin himself or syl being the oldest honorspren are splinters of honor.
  5. While I agree at first glance it makes more sense for her to be preservation, I feel like in terms of her personality fitting what cultivation seems to be going for in the shards lift doesn’t quite match. Her reluctance to move on and desire to not grow up makes her better for reigning in cultivation. Just like I think vin was the best person to reign in preservation, lift I think would lean to hard into preservation and fall to the intent to easily and completely at least at this point. On top of the fact that I think in the short term it’s fair to assume that lift, taravangian and dalinar are gonna take up the three rosharan shards since they are the only confirmed and direct interference. I think her pruning of others is much less direct for example kaladins mysterious wind power ups could be from her, she may have been speak into evi who I belive whorshiped her, and I think she may also be the reason nobody remembers jasnahs childhood illness. Mira also possible another part of her master plan is that at some point all these people will want to surrender the shards to reform adonalsium
  6. Why would she want to set up a replacement odium, cultivation has as far as we know the best future sight of the shards she could be seeing things far in advance we don’t yet know of or understand. On top of the fact that the person she put as odium clearly intends to go out into the cosmere so she likely has intent spanning it. it’s not just about matching characters it’s about matching people who can hold the power in check. valor needs to be someone who understands that sometimes you need to live to fight another day, which kaladin has learned how to do. odium needs to be and is no someone who understands emotions and their extremes. Devotion needs to understand to whom it must be devoted to and when that devotion is no longer the right thing which szeth is perfect for. cultivation must be someone who understands the value of growth and at the same time the cost of that growth which makes lift a prime candidate. this is a shard we are talking about there is no reason to assume she has no intentions outside of roshar. it is also within her nature, she wants change that’s the whole point of cultivation and shardholders being the same people for a long time is the opposite of change so it’s within her intent to want to change it up and in that situation why would the mind not try to create more perfect shardholders who are not so clearly flawed as the original since we have commonly seen them struggling against the power of their shards.
  7. Slight problem is we really only see the very best mistborn fight and mostly the very best radiants. But living shardplate basically makes it so a mistborn cannot touch you. They could have atium for days and it won’t matter because any single strike the mistborn makes if the radiant so much as flinches which we know can be done in response to atium the attack misses and if it hits oh no they just heal, but almsot any attack that has a chance of hitting a radiant in plate while instantly be followed up by a counter attack you can’t dodge as a shard blade sweeps through you. a fourth ideal radiant is basically invincible against a mistborn unless they have insane amounts of atium, are sure lucky or it’s like vin vs some radiant with low combat experience. in any other situation basically zero chance, vin probably couldn’t beat even a third ideal radiant if we are being honest I know everyone loves vin and she is a badass but generally she has no attack that can kill a radiant before she dies, the lord radiant needs to get one hit in vin or other mistborn would need to drain them of stormlight then get a good hit in all without taking a single hit from the shardblade. That sounds very very hard no matter how skilled you are. and based on what 4th ideal does I suspect a 5th ideal radiant could beat a full born when tlr hits kelsier with a compounded blow it rips the skin off his face and snaps his neck, that’s not enough to even phase a radiant of the third ideal. I doubt a radiant could beat a completely prepared full born who knew the exact details of their powers and wasn’t cocky at all, but against let’s say the lord ruler they would probably stand a very good chance on account of his overconfidence.
  8. I am convinced that cultivation will be the big enemy and that she has been manipulating everyone from behind the scenes, I think that she is currently creating a shardholder for every single shard lift- cultivation odium- taravangian honor- dalinar (maybe kaladin) valor- kaladin szeth- devotion Endowment- sja anat (since I think cultivation enabled her to become independent of odium) Autonomy- shallan Ambition- venli Invention- navani/ jasnah(?) Mercy- jasnah/ adolin(?) Dominion- no clue whimsy- no clue Ruin- shalash?(could have been sadeas and it didn’t work out) preservation- taln/renarin/ lift Is this theory crazy, yea but it’s also crazy how many of these characters very much embody exactly what you would want in a bearer of those shards. Most of them are perfectly suited to be able to control the power of the shard.
  9. I don’t think this is actually as big a problem as the fact that kaladin is simply too competent, him being around could be a problem for developing other characters it’s kinda hard for lift to have a tense fight in the back 5 when kaladin could show up kill everyone in like half a second and wow easy win. But I also do not think it makes sense for kaladin to die, there have been extensive comparisons between kaladin and dalinar especially relating to how they lead in rythm of war and the other books plus with dalinar posed to lose the challenge in all likelihood I think it makes sense for kaladin to take Dalinar s role or barring that ascend has honor noting back to the child of tanavast bit.
  10. Yeah in that moment i think it had soemthing to do with the rythm of war but I personally think cultivation has been manipulating characters to take up each shard in the cosmere on roshar, and I think kaladin is either honor or if salient is honor then valor
  11. Yeah that’s possible but it doesn’t explain why other windrunners haven’t done it or why syl is often surprised by such abilities
  12. I think he may be a small sliver of honor because that would explain pretty much all the little things that are weird about his abilities.
  13. Kaladin has a lot of little indications around him that he isn’t quite a normal windrunner but these have yet to be explained. If anyone for example 1. deflecting the high storm- though this could be an instinctive use of adhesion 2. The way the wind seems to grant him supernatural fighting prowess which is in my mind described almost like atium. The wind blowing around him could be adhesion but I don’t see why that would grant him enhanced senses, speed and coordination especially to the level that it does, on top of the fact that no other windrunner shows this happening nobody else has this kind of wind imagery. 3. Child of tanavast- we know that kaladin being the only person called child of tanavast is significant but we don’t know why yet, it’s possible this imparts him with these other abilities. 4. the way kaladin kills the pursuer is a very very odd instance, it’s possible it’s the standard wind thing but that doesn’t normally do what happened here. Kaladin becomes enraged and gains super speed, a power which as far as we have seen only one other power set in the cosmere grants. (Feruchamy) that’s not even to mention the yellowish red tint to his eyes venli sees which indicates potentially some level of corruption from odium. if anyone would be able to see understand and explain what is up with all of this it is ishar, the most practiced bondsmith ever, capable seeing connections could surely be able to determine this and in fact this may be what helps convince ishar to help Dalinar, he sincere believes he is an aspect of the almighty but maybe something about kaladin and the fact that the son of tanavast thing may indicate he actually is one. so what could happen when they meet? one theory I do have that’s a bit crackpot is that this has soemthing to do with cultivation, cultivation being a god of change and nature seems to me like it very well could have some level of manipulation over stuff like the winds and maybe she granted this power, this could also explained the slightly corrupted eyes since red investiture is corrupted seemingly regardless of what other type is corrupting it. But I also think cultivation is the villain and ha sheen manipulating everyone so take that with a grain of salt. now my main theory on what kaladin may be, is a sliver of honor. This explains a lot in my mind at least, why odium had 0 connection to kaladin he could exploit except through moash, it also explains why he would be called son of tanavast and makes more sense then some weird far back descendant. On top of that it would explain why kaladin was able to resist the tower’s suppression. And while I know people are gonna say to the last point that’s it was because of his closeness to the fourth ideal but every time we hear someone say that it’s much less a definitive statement and more of a “um... I guess maybe it could be because... he is close to the fourth ideal?..” it’s never a definitive answer and this very much fits all the other weird inconsistencies.
  14. Kaladin has a lot of little indications around him that he isn’t quite a normal windrunner but these have yet to be explained. 15. Good to know
  16. Yeah I would too they are much more fun, but it strikes me that relationship like wax and marasi seems too easy
  17. Those are pretty fair assessments but it also reminded me a lot of the way some relationships have been built up in other Sanderson books and the way in mistborn era 2 the ones that work out are not ones that were expected though this is mostly me spitballing because I’m bored
  18. While I would have agreed with this before recent developments have changed my mind
  19. They are currently unable to leave the system, we know that there are ways to allow for example spren to leave the system when they otherwise couldn’t and it seems possible that fused could be enabled to leave as well.
  20. This quote is about the servants of trell who will supposedly conquer Scadrial This seems to connect nicely to odium since those two are by far the most common color associated with odium. Since per wob his investiture should be gold and the fused as well as other creations like the everstorm are red. but the sets “faceless immortals” Suit does call it a “faceless immortal” but I would not expect him to know the difference between a mavset-im which is the type of fused this would likely be also known as those ones of masks. While the red eyes could result simply from corrupted investiture it doesn’t make sense to me why that would turn their eyes red as nothing similar happens to normal kandra. On top of this I do not personally see why autonomy if it is trell woudl have any reason to attempt to take over Scadrial and even if it did I do not see why it would not work with others in some capacity to maintain independence. Brandon has also stated there is a connection between odium and trell. I doubt that was a fused but it just seems possible especially since this happens post timeskip in stormlight.
  21. Granted I don’t particularly care how this all resolves and honestly I don’t think either need this but these are interesting little things
  22. Yeah soemthing I just realized kaladin seems to be summoning and un summoning his shardplate with no cost to his stormlight, which either means radiant plate just straight up doesn’t need stormlight to hold or respawn ibc and spawning it again heals it up whcih is of cours insane, on top of that he could do it instantly, especially with kaladin who has insane feats of agility may very well be Abel to just never deplete the plate in a fight.
  23. Yeah Um I think you may be overestimating mistborn, the stuff kaladin and szeth have been seen doing is like vin on crack 99% of the time, kaladin at 2nd ideal fought an entire army and Szeth literally ripped through an army of fused like it was Tuesday kaladin fought amaram plus plate 2 blades, 12 or so fused which also have battle experience of around 7000 years or so making them more dangerous then people like even denth and zahel in terms of skill and an unmade at the same time and almsot won alone while distracted by having to help dalinar kaladin and since szeth is about the same level szeth are the two single best melee combatants we have witnessed fight in the entire cosmere hands down. On top of having arguably the best magic system hands down. mistborn will lose like 90/100 even vin probably couldn’t beat some of the more dangerous radiants especially with some newer healing feats. additionally brining atium is not the instant win people aren’t o think it is, you half to have the skill to make use of the information for example let’s say you gave a random guy a knife put him up against a well trained martial artist or soldier with a knife, you may very well not manage to kill them even with atium, you may simply not have the skill to land the blow, it’s a huge advantage but when you consider the still have to land a blow realistically at range in a slit just wide enough to fit the blade that means any deviation of the radiants head, like the radiant flinches and you would likely miss so that shot is insanely hard to make and even if you do storm light healing kicks in and then you dead, because that shard blade is coming through your body or they gonna punch you and your bones will shatter burning pewter yeah you can probably keep going at severely hampered combat effectiveness and you will likely die of your wounds when the fight is over seeing as you are pushing an already broken Body. also I love vin but I think people overestimate her, the most impressive feats seen of her with no mists are rampaging through cetts men and her rampaging through the koloss the Zane fight vs inquisitors included the most I belive vs Lord ruler had mists vs Shan elerial she was fighting some relatively random mistborn. You know what her fights vs the koloss and cetts men compare to a normal dude in shardplate her arguably most impressive fights are similar in terms of like feat scaling to dalinar or adolin in full plate and with a blade. Granted these people are insanely skilled shardbearers and im certain vin would beat them but the feats are comparable. In fact dalinar and adolins feats are considerably more impressive in my estimation when you consider the fact that Scadrial soldiers have so much less battle experience than ones on roshar, dalinar is fighting people who know how to beat him, are incredibly experienced and in some cases straight up better then humans, vin fought koloss which does beat out dalinar and adolin but not by a ton. the point of this vin is good and is the very very best mistborn. But roshar operates on a different power level entirely from mistborn kaladin and like 20 troops but mostly kaladin held an entire army of probably like 10,000 parshendi off, and I think it should be pointed out it is significantly harder to hold that position then cut through on army, because the enemy has the momentum. This was when he was bad with his powers. On top of this fought two top class shardbearers at once, as second ideal. Szeth fought kaladin to a standstill and so should be considered of the same level, looking at feats alone kaladin and szeth who are the very very best rediants I’d bet on against vin in most fights even without plate, because I really don’t think enough people consider this you can just turn shardblades into shields
  24. I mean that has nothing to do with their powers though, that’s just the mindset of most mistborn nothing about their powers makes them inherently more stealthy then radiants, lashings don’t make sound, light weavers are more stealthy in every regard presumably the same for truthwatchers
