I also believe she was using iron and stee on the sword
-
That’s fair, but honestly allowing a human being to operate at peak adrenaline fueled strength is basically low level super strength, that’s basically pewter too it’s like super adrenaline
-
Yeah but you could take a high mass object and make it lighter
-
What if dalinar got a pair of knuckle dusters and just started going to town by increasing the density on impact? actually windrunners could do it too, lash a sword that weighs a ton and then just hit someone with it and if you wanted to really do some damage Vance. The lashing right before impact
-
But if that is the solution could be like punch a person and make his fist super Dense on impact?
-
Tension changing the density of the stone maybe?
-
Do how did he lift it then?
-
I was thinking about who would win in a fight a mistborn or radiant and I remembered that dalinar reportedly lifted a stone that takes about ten men to lift which accounting for gravity on roshar and based on how much the average American man can lift means it took about 4200+ Newton’s which is well beyond normal human levels by a lot, even if my math is woefully wrong he is still managing feats well beyond normal. So does stormlight provide a strength buff or is dalinar just super strong on top of that dalinar is while strong still getting on in years. so then I wondered how mu stronger is it then pewter since if stormlight can already heal, grant a coordination bonus, increase speed, etc... and increase strength by as much as this appears to this is ridiculous, the best feat I can think of for pewter is vin crushing a skull with a headbutt which is about 2300 newtons correct me if my math is wrong but this is insanely overpowered if this is a universal strength buff. The fact that we haven’t noticed it is odd but I think it ultimately comes down to most fights with radiants they either have shards where it doesn’t matter, are fighting shardplate people or fused with likely similar levels of strength.

That could be interesting but I doubt it woudl go as far as both becoming the law
-
That doesn’t really fit the theme to me, it seems like it’s goin up to protecting everyone then accepting the exceptions, and the only exception left is that maybe some people need to die to protect people, it’s possible the 5th windrunner ideal is much more personalized though
-
Ok so I believe the 5th windrunner ideal is something along the lines of “I will kill to protect” why do I think this, well the sky breakers progress toward different levels of the law snd personally I believe Shallan and all light weavers but especially her are progressing toward seeing themselves for how they are, and her final ideal will probably be “I am shallan” or some variation of that so what is the windrunner ideal progression is so far 2. I will protect those who cannot protect themselves 3. I will protect even those I hate These seem to pretty much encompass everyone you could protect. do that brings us to 4 This is an exception that makes you more effective at your job, it allows you to move on/ keep moving now additionally many of the main characters are almost the ideal(sorry not sorry) candidates for each order and so I think it’s probably a good idea to assume for speculation their arcs match up with the ideals and I think the biggest point in his arc kaladin has left is moash after rythm of war I don’t think moash is turning away from odium and based on the trend of the 4th ideal being a exception that makes you more effective at protecting, and kaladins biggest major plot point that has only been kinda resolved is that he wants to protect too many people, a big part of that is resolved now that he doesn’t have to constantly protect bridge four and many others but there are so many like the parshendi he still feels the need to protect, and this is paralyzing him This follows the trajectory of the oaths i think and I believe he will swear the 5th ideal before or after killing moash, why do I believe this, because kaladin has to kill someone he doesn’t hate for no reason other then to protect others and moash fits that description since kaladin still does not want to kill him but he is a threat to so many people and now may want vengeance.

Ok so there are a few moments in rythm of war that like feel really important and I haven’t seen anyone talking about them. When he is standing over text and turns on lezian kaladins eyes are glowing like a normal radiants but also faintly yellow/red like a fused ever since they made war light I had this feeling kaladin somehow was gonna use it at some point I doubt that is what happened here but irk what is happening here is the shardplate thing kaladin does normal it seems incredibly powerful and like something that Dalinar woudl have seen the windrunners in the visions do also kaladins reputation has become similar to kelsiers except really his reputstion is way stronger. He killed one of the strongest fused we have seen and he didn’t just kill him he absolutely humiliated him a 7000 year old warrior and he just destroyed him. his reputation among the fused is probably bordering on mythical he borderline took back the tower alone and made a very strong effort of resisting the occupation. Beyond that the absolute conviction with which moash asserted that kaladin could not be killed by an enemy and his humiliation of lezian will probably make even more people think that and that isn’t even factoring in shardplate. kaladin was already like a Christ figure similar to kelsier with the being hung up in the storm thing and his reputation was already pretty mythical even the fused in kholinar at the beginning we’re talking about him. But now not only is his reputation probably borderline that of the heralds. I feel like this means he probably is gonna die or ascend, most of the other main characters look at kaladin and go wow he is awesome. That just idk it seems like he could die. Part of this is I think now he is just so capable he really can’t stay alive, the only mortals I can think of in maybe the whole cosmere that coudl really match kaladin rn in just a straight fight would be fullborn and szeth, kaladin especially when enraged can body people with crazy powers, can heal and have lived in a constant state of war for 7000 years, even if we went through every generation of ancient radiants I suspect we wouldn’t find more then50-100 people near his level, considering that lezian always goes after the strongest and has never been killed twice you maybe wouldn’t find more then a dozen. Point is he is just so capable that he can easily make other conflicts obsolete , like its idk let’s say lifts problem and she need to sort this out and beat this guy oh wait kaladin is here now and he just wins because everyone we have seen stand in his way has died. alternatively the whole child of tanavast thing on top of this could potentially lead to him becoming honor, which I’m skeptical of but it does seem very possible that he could ascend. But kaladin is also cosmere aware now thanks to zahel so where could that lead idk, but I can’t help but feel that if kaladin managed to transport syl off roshar even without any storm light and even if he couldn’t bring his shardplate wind spren with him, he could still be very dangerous. I just really wonder what the pint of him being cosmere aware is. Wait what if dalinar loses the context right but maybe dies like completely or goes out as odiums champion, and then kaladin follows or is ordered right before this to stop dalinar and basically kaladin follows dalinar fixing what he screws up. this is super random
-
Why is windrunner shardplate so insanely op and why don’t other orders appear to have similar shardplate abilities or do they and kaladin is just very creative
-
The kelsier thing imma be real I called that when jasnah and wit had a talk about thaidakar When navani said “journey before destination b*stard” I just loved it moash is the worst and should die painfully The shardplate moving seems to be a windrunner thing and is insane too, kaladin is so op, my favorite moment with him was when the pursuer comes in and tries to fight kaladin, and kaladin just takes him to town and destroys him moving so fast nobody is even better really registering it. Then when everyone liked backed up it was just great. Shallan had a big arc but it just felt like it didn’t really land honestly, kaladin was having lots of really nice development and such awesome moments that shallan just don’t hit well for me. Though the old cryptic was a solid reveal. i loved adolin and maya though so great the Taravangian thing was super cool but sadly I spoiled it for myself by going to the wiki after hearing the new shards namedropped, but it was pretty cool though I am now very confused about cultivation’s manipulations and what taravangians actual plan is. now navani, that was awesome her discoveries as a scholar and the discovery of anti light plus raboniel was just amazing. when we learned that the crazy fused was her daughter and when she put her to rest I just felt so bad for her. Though this book reinforced my belief that kaladin is either going to die or become honor, just the way everyone treats him as being this implacable unmovable being that’s as moash said basically a force of nature. Kaladin is at this point especially after his resistance in the tower viewed with an almost religious reverence, but now that he isn’t gonna be the champion, I really don’t know. also that moment with ishar and the one with Nale was just awesome, seeing heralds even mad ones dominating the best fighters we have seen is awesome masking what was with kaladins eyes, why were they yellow? What does that mean?
-
Forgot that, so yeah it probably isn’t kaladin but swords can be replaced and it just seems to much of a coincidence to me and Brandon has set up stuff like this before so i still think it possible

I suppose but It just seems like too many coincidences to be needing a sword that “can kill and protect” in a book where kaladin is struggling with that, kill to protect had been kaladins entire philosophy for most of the series and its in the same book as kaladin becoming cosmere aware it seems to much of a coincidence to overlook this fact noe if he had said a spear if you will I woudl say it’s pretty certain

I haven’t finished the rest of the book so no spoilers if this becomes immediately relevant and I doubt it will. but with kaladin being made cosmere aware thanks to vasher he is being position as a worldhopper assuming he doesn’t die in book 5. I think we are very obviously supposed to think this is gonna be kaladin whcih make some speticsl but then it made me think, what if kaladin gets powers from every shard. kaladin has powers from honor The theory about him bonding yxili exists harmony if he discovers his existence may be interested idk I just kinda want to know if anyone else has other theories on this

The sebarial ghost blood theory I’ve heard just makes a lot of sense, so I think it could be tru, and yeah she probably would have some herdazian genes but my main reason is it would just fit with their characters she has the same sense of humor as palona and on top of that if any high prince had a daughter that was dark eyed who they still kept pretty close I’d belive it to be sebarial though many also believe her to be from karbranth
-
But wouldn’t it be so much fun
-
Oh that’s actually a good point I haven’t considered that. also how long before hesina gets recognized Cause we know hesina has something important going on likely to do with her parents. 1. She had fallen significantly in social status since her childhood https://wob.coppermind.net/events/61/#e1335 2. Both of her parents are not darkeyed meaning at least one of them is a lighteyes or foreigner https://wob.coppermind.net/events/324/#e9290 3. Kaladin is related to the former queen presumably through his mother https://wob.coppermind.net/events/360/#e10909 4. on top of that kaladin could have potentially managed to get married to laral and she is far far above him in social standing, even with kal being high ranking and their fathers being friends it’s still a bit too big of a gap without other reasons. so is it unreasonable to think it possible that someone at Urithiru May recognize hesina or that she will know people there? even if she was onlt related to some people of middling importance she would surly still know someone there. now we really don’t know enough information to judge who would recognize or know her but i think we can try and judge if someone would. (my really really crackpot theory/ hope is that she is sebarial and Palona’s daughter, this is almost certainly not true but still
-
That makes sense but they did say taht of the a plot some people will have less chapters I believe it was two people and I think it may be kaladin and the 5th character i just want a leshwi chapter I want to know whats going on inside her head
-
Kaladin seems to be relegated to the B plot rn, I imagine we will won’t see a lot of kaladin until the end of the book from here, but when the enemy attacks urithiru I bet they take over the tower mostly and kaladin has to drive them back maybe leshwi helps him by stabbing ing raboniel in the back and then the sibling wakes back up maybe navani bonds it while trapped in the core during the whole ordeal

Which major character(s) do you think will die by end of series?
Valigus replied to TequilaJack's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah kaladin has to either lose syl or die because in any other situation he is just too big and too important of a character to let live, it’s kinda hard to build up tension when it’s like well why didn’t kaladin just show up to fight the enemy champion and easily beat him. Kaladin turns around every situation he is in he fought an unmade and something like dozen plus fused at once while distracted and almost won, a character like that can’t just be left around. However I heard rumors of a second kaladin book in the back five so I think it’s possible that 1. kaladin becomes world hopper to go find allies to defeat odium, this is kinda foreshadowed by the recent prequel chapter and his newfound higher degree of cosmere awareness 2. kaladin helps reforge the oathpact, this takes him and dalinar probably out of the picture for the required time. 3. This is personally my favorite because I think it means the best with his arc and it’s that syl is consumed doing something like potentially sealing an unmade, potentially dalinar also does around the same time, then if dalinar dies kaladin takes up the stormfather and takes dalinar a role, this is the one I like the most and actually seems foreshadowed by the way kaladins and dalinars leaderships is described throughout the books especially rythm of war. It also works best with kaladins character arc especially if he allows or even orders the sacrifice -
I think it would be very weird to have tanavast be kaladin when kaladin is becoming more cosmere aware I feel like it’s more likely for him to become a world hopper, I do though like the idea of honor being split amongst the 10 heads of the orders.
