The world is not any more divided then Scadrial but that is true however all the need is a few surgebinders to screw Scadrial ove rand grab some weapons in the chaos. North Scadrial is on the brink of civil war and wax just made it worse. We have seen how easy it was for a kandra to destabilize everything, it’s naive to think that tension is gone forever a skilled lightweaver or Mavset-I’m or even better a team could easily destabilize the nation.

Sky breakers are lie detectors by their resonance i didn’t ignore your Wob it simply doesn’t apply, that is specifically about soul casting aluminum I’m into something else not soul casting soemthing else into aluminum. I am talking about how jasnah or other radiant soulcasters could easily create as much aluminum as they want if needed. waz has been stated to be the only crashed every or maybe it was one of three, a compounder is likely far rarer meaning miles may be the only one ever. The spren can choose of their own volition to break it off after it is taken and you still have to manage to hit a radiant with a spike then take it o and stick it in yourself without dying that’s almsot impossible especially because it had to be in the right spot. But they don’t have that, and even if they did it wouldn’t matter because rosharans can just reposition those leaching cubes would do nothing to windrunners, edgedancer a, sky breakers, etc who can just nope out and in all likelihood 4th ideal radiants would heavily resist the effect. I doubt that would work keep in mind aluminum is a fairly soft metal do aluminum billets may not have the penetration power to reasonably quickly deal with shardplate. so basically aluminum loses to shardplate lwevher keeps don’t work on flying people and possibly don’t work on 4th ideal radiants and if having your spine severed repeatedly is only an inconvenience I doubt billets will do anything. hemaulurgy won’t help unless they capture radiants which likely wouldn’t ever happen. rosharans can likely work out fabriel suppressors for scadrian magic Yeah flip side of koloss it takes 1 bullet to kill one compared to you know singers who can see the future, basically be kandra, jump like 30 meters etc depending on forms, mature Qucikly replenishing numbers very fast so many advantages. addiontalky foreign magic isn’t necessarily immediate cause for alarm if you see soemthing you have never seen before do you immediately go like oh it’s scary dangerous or do you investigate probably revealing to the lightweaver they have been detected and promptly getting yourself killed, and once again I think everyone is far over estimating the numbers of mistings and ferrings they have, in the original trilogy twelve mistings were a lot and I’d bet there were maybe 300- 500 mistings and at most 50 mistborn in the final empire who had powers that could be accessed (as in not electrum etc) and who knew they were mistborn. Maybe there were a similar amount of feruchamists and ferrings then most of them died let’s assume a third survives except likely no msitborn did so 150 ferrings 150 mistings and spook now based on how early they show up I think it’s safe to say there are probably around 30- 75 twin born max in the world of wax is the only crashes ever and we hear about none others but miles and Wayne. Then probably because higher population about let’s say 300+ ferrings since they seem rarer and 500+ mistings 1/4 mistings are basically useless and ferrings are like 5/16 possibly higher but I think storing connection could make you immune to bondsmith thread manipulation. I also think you are majorly underestimating the honor spren there are enough honorspren in one place to make a city on top of the fact that it is not their only city they have others and not all of their people are even there. They have about 30 windrunners rn but even if we assume the maximum number of full windrunners is let’s say 200 which is almost certainly untrue kaladin has a 30+ man bridge crew as squires that means each windrunner can have 20 duties if we say kaladin is an anomaly which means roughly 6000 squires.just windrunner squires would outnumber every single magic user on Scadrial by potentially as much as two times and even if I’m massively lowballing estimates there are still unlikely to be more ferrings and Mistings then just windrunner squires. And since each windrunner squires if you just idk gave them a heavy machine gun whcih woudl be fine since weights doesn’t matter they are basically a fighter jet that means that roshar can basically can outnumber the total combat fighter complement of the us military by a factor of 6. If we assume 200 is the max for every order and stonewards seem to have like 2-3 squires low end that means each stoneware squires alone could potentially be equal to half of the magic users on Scadrial. And the point of this is that radiants and squires outclass any type of ferrings or misting by a large margin, surgebinding is a far stronger magic system then anything else and odium even says as much. Every single squire for these radiants is like a gold compounder plus extra. A windrunner squire is a gold compounder/lurcher(also if windrunners learn the chest plate thing from lurchers they could use the black hole lashing forgot it’s name to suck projectiles to it)/ coinshot/ crappy thug. Even if there are 10,000 magic users on Scadrial which seems highly unlikely from what we have seen they are still outnumbered and outmatched by radiants and squires. The only advantage they have is guns the only thing roshar needs to do to get them is show up to a few gun shops in power armor basically or buy them. Wanna compare to 40k a 4th ideal radiant is basically a space marine honestly a 4th id radiant would be at any non psycher space marine to a pulp.(because shardblade)

But how would they know what a lightweaver is? It would just look like some weird thing they have never seen before. But as shown in the 6th of the dusk sequel but we have they will be able to leave. Alethi troops have been shown to beat singers mother then the fact that almsot all their leaders are becoming radiant and therefore them lacking those powers is noticeable, and that kandra would have a very hard time replacing someone guarded by radiants and sky breakers can tell when people lie. Hemalurgy can’t add people with powers there aren’t enough people on Scadrial who posses powers to create an army of them and so therefore you could not create an army with powers using hemalurgy. It’s not hard it is rare, soul casting things into aluminum woudl not be hard for radiants who are not limited in their soul casting and jasnah in like a solid week of nonstop work could make more aluminum then Scadrial could have for decades. None of those matter when against a shardblade, radiants outclass anything not a fullborn by a mile. Plus there are a lot a lot more radiants then magic users on Scadrial, this is something people don’t seem to process radiants are not more rare anymore and in fact may be useful at the very least then combatively useful ferrings and mistings. Scadrial is at every disadvantage During a war. Except guns and supply’s (but the second isn’t too big because casters are literally the single most overpowered thing in existence compared to a soul caster fullborns are weak on a macro scale because needing no supply lines makes waging war 100 times easier. Grain, metal and stone Soulcasters>bondsmith a, fullborns, army of radiants literally everything is outclassed by soulcasters guns and a big enough army(except shards obviously) (also just thought of this but transportation should allow them to see kandra since I doubt kandra appear just like people in the cognative realm which actually gives them a fairly sure way of detecting them)
-
Scadrial also has what appears to be a much less spread out and generally smaller population, also I don’t know about that because I think a perpetual civil war where all the scientists and leaders are being killed constantly would be desolation level Imagine if every single time in a civil war someone gained power or figured out a new technology a lightweaver killed them. That would be pretty bad.

I mean I feel like it could be possible especially if someone ascends to honor That’s true I didn’t consider that, but then why hasn’t odium given fused guns? And yeah you could buy one which I think I mentioned it would be a huge win if a workshop we just showed up and bought a ton from a gun store but if odium is behind this he may as well go further and destabilize the planet whci ha few radiants and/or fused could do easily. because Scadrial is weaker then nalthis rn and has more of a potential to be strong later. ok didn’t know that one. that is true but I’m assuming everything is as it is rn, and rn seems like the best move to knock them out early. in fact it’s my opinion the taravodium created the set and the red eyed kandra in bom is a Mavset-im odium has explicitly been using roshar to train and army and I think we can safely say it worked and he has managed to train the single strongest army in the cosmere we know of, so he likely will make use of it. This seems a tempting target.
-
They may know how to fight a war but I doubt they are as proficient as those on roshar and they lack a big magical advantage. roshar doesn’t need a big force just some guns, they don’t actually need to attack or destabilize the planet if they got rob a gun store that’s a big victory. Kelsier has never been shown to be proficient with military thinking in fact quite the opposite seeing as what happened to his army and the fact that he put Hammond in charge, kelsier is good at infiltration not guerilla tactics he’s a spymaster not a general. but they really can’t because roshar doesn’t need an army to destabilize the planet all they need is shallan and her lightweavers that’s it nobody else shallan plus a ton of storm light could destabilize the whole planet. mid they surrender then roshar wins, roshar shouldn’t try and occupy them that would be stupid but if they get the enemy to surrender and give them guns and stuff that’s a big big win. just because the Alethi wouldn’t understand it doesn’t mean that it would be a problem. Yeah it probably won’t be open battle but even if it is roshar wins, people need to put out this notion that because radiants prefer open battle means they can’t be good at infiltration and guerilla war. Radiants are far far better at guerilla war then ferrings or misting or even feruchamists and mistborn for the most part. They can heal, they are more common, some can fly, some can go super fast, some can blow stuff up some can just nope out and nope in whenever. So many reasons why they are better at it too. roshar has survived 7000 years of war, wars that lasted 100s of years surviving roshar is so much better at it, they have been through apocalypse after apocalypse some with as little time between them as a year and every single time they have come out on top, Scadrial has had two apocalypses and each time they nearly all died. also I disagree kandra are not as good as lightweavers for a few big reasons 1. shardblade- a lightweaver can kill a kandra and literally anyone else with a single blow(except a gold compounder) 2. Plate- plate is op 3. kandra don’t kill (at least mostly) and of the ones that do one just went crazy, one is tensoon so ok that is scary and the other is melaan whose infiltration skills have been shown to be lacking. 4. Lightweavers can manipulate sound which is really nice I’m sure they can use that 5. lightweavers can affect others 6. Lightweavers cannot be mind controlled 7. they have soul casting And all of this for marginally worse infiltration ability a kandra can do it in about 1 day but a lightweaver can take a weak to get into character and basically get the same job done and if it’s assassination they just need to get the illusion right. Lightweavers outclass kandra pretty much 100% overall even with marginally worse infiltration. I also think lots of your argument is based on how your perceive these planets vs how they actually are like the idea that roshar is incapable of waging a slow war for attrition and will always go for a direct kill even when not needed.
-
They don’t have any reps military tactics they wouldn’t have the first clue how to accomplish half of this, tin eyes aren’t really that good of spies at least not compared to lightweavers which are almsot as good as kandra in terms of infiltration. Plus if the sky breakers are with everyone else the fact that they act as lie detectors is pretty good at finding spies. being fast and dexterous doesn’t actually help with infiltration, effective infiltration is very rarely ever about sneaking into an enemy base and finding soemthing as much as it is disguise and impersonation, thugs would not help infiltration in fact the kind of infiltration like wax and the group did in the bands of mourning will be nearly impossible when invisible spren are zipping around reporting to their radiant and getting out will be nearly impossible when one radiant can kill your entire team without breaking a sweat. it will also be nearly impossible to put spies in when said spies are going to have greatly different features and dimensions to those of people on roshar they will be easily noticed unlike Lightweavers. but how do you do that? It’s significantly easier for roshar to hurt Scadrial then Scadrial to hurt roshar for example imagine this they get dalinar out there with maybe 500 troops and 50 radiants dalinar can freely pop in and out of the cognitive realm where he pleases refill stormlight and cause havoc, supplies no problem just being anyone who can soulcast or an actual soul caster send some people back with guns so navani can figure them out or make Fabriel versions send spies into the highest level of government assassinate literally anyone easily, light wave yourself into their spouse and boom shardblade win the back no recovering from that, shallan could probably kill the entire leadership of Scadrial over the course of a year with little effort. Sending in just shallan or just bridge 4 to do guerilla work with either enough stormlight or gemstones could destabilize one of the two cultures on the planet easily bring dalinar and soulcasters and they have no chance to stop or find you. If Scadrial can avoid an open war so can roshar and you know what roshar can do that better roshar can also fight an open war better. In pretty much every single possible metric roshar wins except they don’t have guns, they don’t even need to really invade they just need to send someone to rob a gun shop and suddenly they outclass Scadrial in every possible aspect except for the single fullborn Scadrial has, which isn’t a problem because nightblood and a million other potential kill options. mom snd credit where credit is due the kandra are better then lightsabers at pure infiltration but most won’t kill humans, and they can’t fake having radiant powers and radiants can likely kill them but they can’t kill radiants so I think in terms of net usefulness Lightweavers win out.
-
Actually point 3 doesn’t matter at all since the rosharans have bondsmiths which could allow them to just open a perpendicularity if they get them offworld. the point is to just knock them out of the fight if odium wants to attack he can promptly do so now get guns for roshar knock Scadrial out for a long time and move on to the rest of his plan. bondsmitsh if we can get them off world would be a steady source of light, tower light and life light could likely use soulcasters. sharda have trouble directly interfering and a double shard is at a severe disadvantage against 3 single shards since he is limited by intent interference and they are not.
-
I think alomancers will be of limited military application, tineyes are of little use , thugs are nice but aren’t numerous enough to use really, lurches and coin shots are helpful but also not very numerous, the time metals don’t help much, the only truly helpful metals in a battle are rioting and soothing in my opinion the morale boost is huge the others in open battle are far below radiants in usefulness. the south may have fought wars but still not likely as good at it as those on roshar and their airships will be very very vulnerable to windrunners.
-
Yeah but how effective will an army of random people be against the best trained most experience army in the cosmere. With the strongest magic system we know of. I also doubt their resolve will allow them to that, people run in battle after being trained and being hardened soldiers random people will break easily when faced with trained lethal soldiers.
-
That’s fair but wether or not they would accept that he is who he valise to be is debatable for example if Jesus showed up would every Christian just now down to him because he claimed to be Jesus no probably not. In fact many would probably ignore him and depending on the time Perrier like in the Middle Ages would probably declare him a heratic and want him killed. that also still doesn’t make you at war with those governments because all those people likely won’t just take up arms and help.
-
I really do think you overestimate their reach nothing has indicated they had any way to observe navani while she was completely isolated, they also clearly did not know a lot about faculae and clearly lacked a lot of Information about his goings on, and considering that they had to send shallan to do things they were clearly unable to do otherwise their operatives cannot be that capable. Shallan and others will most likely be more than capable of dealing with a few assassins none of which cancliekym compete with a radiant which most of the high ranking people we have seen are. kelsier is not the entire planet to suggest she did that doesn’t take into account what the ghost bloods are that would be like the cia declaring a covert war with the Russian mob and saying that they just declared war on Russia.
-
I think you are significantly over estimating the ghost bloods their reach has not been shown to extend anywhere near that far additional poisoning an entire battalion isn’t really feasible discretely and many generals and military leaders have started becoming radiants or have radiant guards and considering how much marine wanted shallan and a spren to bond they don’t aren’t o have any or anything taht can reasonably take on a radiant. also when did they get acess to anti- tones? As far as we know the high ranking fused, navani and that’s about it know about them, why would the ghost bloods both groups would want to keep this a well guarded secret and they have no lost their inside woman into the radiant inner circle. Who is also entirely devoted to killing any ghost bloods she sees and I think they would have trouble getting past her.
-
The higher gravity would be difficult but not that difficult .3 gs higher is bearable and soemthing that could be worked with especially with proper synergy training before the invasion, windrunners could help simulate this if they wanted. I bet navani could enable the sibling to increase the gravity in parts of the tower or decrease it which could allow for 0 g space combat training rooms or high gravity strength training rooms. that isn’t the entirety of their advantage at all radiants are so much stronger then anything Scadrial had to offer, other than a single fullborn a single full born cannot win a war. Radiants outclass misting, ferrings, twin born, compunders, feruchamists and msitborn the last two of which don’t exist anymore. A fullborn is the only magical advantage they have in every other match up Scadrial is outclassed. Assuming roshar doesn’t get them too, like roshar could show up go to a gun shop but a bunch of guns go home figure out who they work and come back just as well equipped. Or maybe idk odium sets up the set to help do this hmm.
-
Well from what we have been told there were limits but on honors death those limits disappeared, I think it wouldn’t make sense that honor would limit bondsmiths if a danwshard was needed to destroy ashyn in fact i bet what a dawn shard does is make someone a bondsmith it would explain how ishar had some kind of bondsmith powers on ashyn and why honor limited them, maybe a dawn shard doesn’t boost bondmsithing(though doubling up the power may do that) so much as it grants bondsmithing. (Also war would probably the single most powerful shard in my opinion with odium seeming to be in his essence about the destruction of bonds while honor is about creating them giving them a lot of power over bonds.) Did not know that, but then it shouldn’t be any harder to steal still should be easier since there isn’t a sentient being tied to the power that can reject you like a spren. The nahel bond is also a part of the soul, scar tissue is no less part of your body is it?
-
Soul casters are basically the single most overpowered rosharan advantage and if they can get radiants offworld they can get plate and blade off world too. roshar actually more then any other world can invade because of soulcatsrs they have an easy constant supply of food and resources and need to supply lines. Yes in the north but in the south they almsot certainly still cannot match rosharan caliber generals or troops especially considering they have zero cold resistance for some reason. Even if the ghost blood bloods bring generals it is very unlikely they would be of the same caliber as rosharans who have been fighting war for 700 years and have advanced military tactics, the Alethi especially are the most militarily advanced country we have seen in the cosmere and I doubt anyone would be able to match their generals.
-
I think if he can steal a bond that is hard coded into your soul he can steal one coded into your dna, in fact I bet a bond in your dnd would be far easier to manipulate. A fullborn coudl beat a bondsmith in a fight yea but that doesn’t make them stronger a fullborn alone is an unstoppable fighter but they can’t do much else a bondsmith can bond gods essentially create entire magic systems. They are the single most overpowered thing in the cosmere that isn’t a shard. It’s also been repeatedly hinted at that we know nothing about what bondsmith are capable of. (plus bondsmiths have shardplate which should enable them to survive at least one blow from a fullborn which puts the fullborn close enough to steal his bonds (if there even is a range limit there very well may not be in certain situations(for example ishar had no bonds with dalinar but if dalinar say wanted to manipulate kaladin or adolin or navani he could probably do it from almsot anywhere on account of their connection( this also means that if say they captured Wayne they could possibly manipulate wax through him or if the captured kelsier they could manipulate the bands))) (this also means it could be possible to make oneself immune to bondsmith powers by storing identity and connection) (but that would make for example the bands extra susceptible)(but they would have to figure this out as well which doesn’t seem likely though if a conflict occurred it likely would happen because plot and bondsmiths are too op) (I also assume the powers of the bondsmith to manipulate connection operate almsot exactly the same as a quantal thread worker from the book of the ancestor trilogy because from every way it has been described it appears to be a much faster, simpler and more overpowered version of it, but even if it is only as strong as that ability that still would allow it to do many of these things)
-
That is true that they will at all points attempt to limit enemy shardbearers but 1 shardbearer or 1 radiant could rip through Scadrial troops where as a single metalborn especially if rosharan manage to get guns will be much harder. The fact that vin wether or not she could take on a shardbearer or not has equivalent feats shows just how insane plate really is. (Interestingly though thinking about it I’d bet vin would have a much higher chance vs a 3rd ideal or lower radiant then a full shardbearer because shardplate is so op) Also saying that helps prove my point in that rn at this time for them to win they must have an advantage, they must catch the rosharans with a large force, the rosharan not having gotten any guns after arriving on their planet which is unlikely, they must catch the rosharans without shardbearers or radiants, all of these things without possessing a single general or military mind capable of matching most rosharan middle rank officers. And as far as scadrians being idiots when it comes to military tactics especially compared to rosharans they really are idiots. They have had one war in potentially as long as 1300 years that war lasted a few years and most of the veterans didn’t survive and most of the battles consisted of using koloss, vin murdering everyone or long sieges. It is because fo this very very unlikely that the scadirans would be able to have an advantage in any battle when it comes to tactics or strategy unless the ghost bloods bring in some good general from elsewhere. (also keep in mind Scadrial is at best like slightly after the civil war in terms of technology a point where tactics still resembled where the rosharans are at, in fact I would argue it resembles it a lot more after the impact of irregulars like fused and radiants on tactics.
-
1. Ishar likely could simply take a fullborns powers away, we can argue about other radiants but bond smiths are far more powerful then full born, in anything except and potentially even including a straight brawl especially now that they are unchained and have no limits. I disagree I think a 5th ideal radiant could potentially also since we haven’t seen kaladin or szeth fight any heralds except nale who I feel like was probably one of the more deadly fighters among them considering szeth managed to connect with ishars blade and nale just curbstomped him I think kaladin or szeth could beat ishar. with nightblood a 5th ideal szeth could go against any fullborn and I would bet on szeth almost every time if he knew what he was against. and while kaladin rn probably couldn’t taking into account his vague other powers he seems to possess like super speed Shown in row or his weird pseudo atium in wor potentially could if these come into play. They could also create a fabriel to interfere with a full Ron’s investiture which would basically let the radiant curbstomp them and the fullborn probably would have almsot no counter. I also think that the difference in investiture levels on the two planes could play a greater role then people realize and that radiant shardplate for example would be almost impossible to push on because of the difference. but seriously bondsmith are insane from what I can tell based on what ishar did they can basically use hemalurgy on everything with 0 consequence to themselves, they literally have the powers of the threads from the book of the ancestor, plus being a splinter basically, plus being able to refill investiture. Bondsmiths are the most overpowered magic users we have seen in the cosmere by a long shot. A fullborn may outclass an unprepared one in a fight but a bondsmith like ishar who understands what he is capable of is insanely scary.

Aluminum is very very rare on roshar now, because only some soulcast era can make it. We now know that there are at least like 15 soul casting radiants and based on what we have seen jasnah do she could probably soulcast immense amounts of aluminum, and she is definitely good enough to manage it. In fact I bet that jasnah in a solid week of working with dalinar a help could soulcast enough aluminum to have more then Scadrial makes in a decade, since stormlight reduces the need to sleep and dalinar can keep recharging her. i also think you’re over estimating many of Scadrial fighters, the be fighters on roshar namely kaladin and szeth are capable of outclassing beings who have been fighting for millennia with far more experience then kelsier and far more mastery over their powers. Kelsier showing up is like Tuesday to most radiants and even if he is a full born I think kaladin or szeth at 5th ideal would be something he would very much struggle to take in. Especially considering the weird unknown perks kaladin has (which I think are tied to his child of tanavast status) (also odium has some connection to him so may be able to mess with him)
-
I think cultivation is planning to create a person to replace wow every shard. men we have honor for dalinar lift for cultivation odium for taravangian im pretty sure she is in same way influencing almsot every single major character in the stormlight archive. This is a post I made outlining who and I don’t wanna go all the way through it again But one I’m almsot certain of is jasnah who references A childhood illness nobody remembers which seems like cultivation’s style.
