  1. Such as? I don’t know a lot about lasers but I know they need a lense which should be bypassed by Lightweavers and usually run off a gas like a co2 laser which would also be met by a Lightweaver. Because of intent I think it’s fairly likely that the intent to create a laser would subconsciously allow for the material requirements to be met.
  2. If I’m right about bondsmiths being attempted replications of this dawnshard then having it doesn’t change much except that it would increase the speed bondsmith a can do things like sever elentrian connection.
  3. There aren’t more advances they only have to figure out that light is energy and can burn, whcih really isn’t a big leap from stormlight csn power stuff and plants grow cause the sun. also nuclear bombs likely wouldn’t work against roshar it would be suepr easy to just soulcast them in to a non fissable material, it’s also possible for soulcaster and dustbringers to maybe just induce fission
  4. Bondsmiths are incredibly strong and losing their limits as is all surgebinding which means that radiants are getting stronger. nothing on any planet we have seen compared to thousands of years of warfare that roshar has had. a single rosharan scholar figured out how to make anti light and weaponise it rosharan scholars and fabriels are a force to be reckoned with. They have been constantly advancing the current fabriels are far more advanced then anything produced before and now with understanding of how the sibling works mass production should not be super hard.
  5. I think if we can assume that they figure out how to mad produce shardplate equivalent then the Lightweavers can figure out lasers.
  6. These all being things they would have to have figured out though to even match the rosharans.
  7. Yeah or they would be killed by dustbringers or have the air soulcast into oil and burned or windrunners or sky breakers could kill them moving super fast
  8. Wouldn’t just an aluminum cage do that?
  9. But do they have as much knowledge about the actual nature of investiture because roshar has a lot of that. they would need to know about the light weaving though. And In that case and this is why they are way better then kandra you still have a tank in the middle of your people one who can soulcast too. yeah bondsmiths are a huge strategic advantage and I could be wrong here but would it not be possible to sever the connection to the dor for all elentrians which would remove their power and maybe kill them right? But then if they just keep breaking it they just build it up over and over again while conventional roshar troops wreck basically any conventional troops sel has, their conventional troops are really good And still 100% of radiants have probably at least limited training as a fighter and are basically tanks. kaladin as only a third ideal radiant didn’t even completely run out of storm light despite having his spine sever like 10 times which is an insane level of healing. I also think you underestimate the ingenuity and knowledge of rosharan scholars. If they get acess to any investiture from sel they likely could work out anti light and suppression fabriels very quickly. Yes it’s true they can make just a pair anything in time but people seem to drastically underestimate fabriels and rosharan technology they can on a large scale potentially suppress the magic abilities of any of their enemies while leaving their own untouched. This is an advantage not to be underestimated, I imagine eventually every radiant will go into battle with a suppressor for their enemy and once this happens it’s gonna become very hard to beat roshar.
  10. I feel like the fact that they have chasm fiends and insane magic as well as the most experienced soldiers, generals and magic users in the cosmere kinda rips the scale. they are used to fighting the supernatural, they also have a better working knowledge of investiture then any other planet I think as a result of all the different magic present. also all the radiant orders are op Lightweavers have no way to be countered by them really, Lightweavers are like kandra who are also tanks. Windrunners and sky breakers are basically fighter jets Elsecallers, stonewards and willshapers basically let you control the terrain however you want, which is such a huge advantage and cannot be underestimated. imagine like a bunch of stonewards show up and boom we made a fort out of rock in like 10 seconds and now the fort is made of iron like stone or willshapers and elsecallers doing the same edgedancers and truthwatchers healing is op from what we have heard or had hinted at dustbringers are like heavy artillery bondsmiths are well bondsmiths and every single one of these orders has acess to a suepr sharp sword that cuts through almsot everything kills pretty much everything instantly and armor that makes them into a smaller much more mobile tank. On top of the fact that they can heal from anything short of like complete disintegration or having their head removed and even those are in doubt considering the feats of healing we have seen in Rythm of war like kaladin having his spine severed over and over and over again bad in oathbringer shallan getting a crossbow bolt to the brain and Renarin being completely squished.
  11. I agree with you but it’s also worth noting putting mistborn and shardbearers to togetwhr for this kinda thing is a mistake vins biggest vs army feats are equal to a average skilled shardbearer roshar operates on a power level so entirely above most of the cosmere it’s insane. also Lightweavers that really have no way to counter them, Lightweavers are like kandra who are also tanks. 12. This is one of the things I’ve considered but I’m not sure if investiture is still required because if the belief is enough then absolutely I think this could happen
  13. Ok so I saw it pointed out the other day taht syl describes hearing a pure note or tone calling her to kaladin almsot, we have assumed it to be tien but it could have been cultivation That could be a good reason as to why, makes sense as to why he would be son of tanavast then. It also may help explain the stormblessed cult that’s springing up. Another thing I thought of what if it’s a spiritual feedback loop like his spear skills. For example ishar displayed a similar ability to the pseudo-atium kaladin displays in the arena fight in wor so maybe kaladin becomes a bondsmith or more likely To cause this a shard, maybe sort of his being so hard to kill is he picks up a dawnshard like hoid. The power could be leaking back in time sicne the spiritual realm doesn’t have time.
  14. Idk not fully explored to me suggests it may not have been. As for odium being unite I think it makes the most sense out of what we have but I think it’s just as likely that it’s an outside one. It’s the best fit but we have 2 unknown shards.(and also odium hadn’t displayed adhesion) Its also possible that adhesion is because bondmsitsh are copies of the bond dawnshard
  15. But how do we know the voidbinding chart is right nobody has explored it so unless it’s from the future idk it’s also possible that whateve gives that has some amount of honor in it. why would you say it’s likely odium, I can see the reason for why people would say it’s odium but I think it may be one we don’t know yet, odium has largely seemed to be largely more divisive then uniting. So I don’t think it is based on what we have seen. Though it’s very possible maybe even likely that I’m wrong.
  16. But the sibling is of both so it should have adhesion, but they would still know about the nightwatcher and if they might watcher had adhesion they wouldn’t say it’s only of honor I think. ok the night watcher is weird so wasn’t sure. yeah I think and this is supported by brained general opinion on magic that the limitations are suepr important that the more limited the stronger it is when the limitations aren’t affecting it. the fused have a lot of insight so until they are directly contradicted I’d believe them, they aren’t super reliable but better then nothing. i think adhesion only exists in shards that come from the bind dawnshard which is what I call the one that’s different from the others, which I think grants bondsmithing powers is on roshar or was and was probably held by tanavast. The others in this category are probably devotion and dominion so they probably would be able to grant adhesion, but I doubt cultivation band odium are from this.
  17. Navani had also not demonstrated many of dalinars abilities yet, though she is more likely then the night watcher, I just don’t think it makes sense the nightwatcher has adhesion I mean raboniel and the fused know the nightwatcher and definitely know how it’s(it or her?) bondsmith works so I think that it’s unlikely they would say “adhesion is only an honor thing” if the nightwatcher has it, if the nightwatcher die shave it I think it’s because of the oaths themselves being constructs created by honor maybe. also as to the oaths being restrictions I think that surgebinding on roshar a this stronger because of the oaths if that makes sense, because we have seen hoid use yolish light weaving and it is very much weaker than rosharan Lightweaving I suspect that if the restrictions fall away completely rosharan surgebinders will best out any other surgebinder without a similar restriction as long as they are within their oaths. For example I doubt unbound gravitation somewhere else could create a small singularity but rosharan gravitation maybe could buy they may never be able to because it would violate their oaths.
  18. This is fair but it seems likely to me that the bind dawnshard and change dawnshard are both on roshar and were both held by honor and cultivation respectively which I think I talked about in one of my other theories. I agree they have some spiritual powers but it’s suepr limited like their leadership thing and the squires is spiritual but it’s not like bondmsitsh who have full acess. for the vision I don’t think they had it because it was a windrunner defending civilians some of which I believe died, if he could or knew how to make the shardplate do what kaladin did he probably would have. Yeah, it probably wouldn’t be permanent maybe they could draw visions to people who can see them? I don’t think there is an odium version of adhesion I think voidbinding is what renarin does and the bondsmith void order would have adhesion from honor and then tension from odium. I also bet that the the night heat her doesn’t give adhesion but the old magic and the ability to give boons and curses and stuff. yeah I think a black hole would most definitely open him up to a strike from cultivation I also suspect of destroying the system were an option he would have tried. Another thing I think is worth noting he probably isn’t allowed to. I find it hard to imagine that creating black holes and stuff wouldn’t be covered by whatever agreement binds the shards.
  19. I don’t remember I just remember reading a thread a loooooong time ago that was soemthing to that affect.
  20. He definitely got it with vasher, vasher sat him down and went I’m from another world I’m like the fused. he does know about the cosmere.
  21. So I’ve heard people list a lot of similarities between Judaism and vorinism and compare kaladin to a Christ like character from the perspective of others particularly bridge 4, he even has a dying on the cross and coming back style moment. This theory to me has always seemed a little too easy and like what happened with kelsier but then I thought of something, child of tanavast, that significant may not be what we are thinking of it may not be that he is more invested or as some weird peer or becomes honor maybe it’s just a symbol of him being a Christ figure for some on roshar?(remember additionally even the fused and singers call him stormblessed and know who he is)
  22. Yeah I just saw that in a thread about kaladins weirdness with the tower and someone suggested it, this would make a lot of sense as to why syl randomly just woke up.
  23. I just thought of another thing, syl hesrs a pure tone in relation to kaladin before gaining her mind fully could this be cultivation? Instead of tien as many suggest?
  24. Everyone seems to be betting that shallan may become a world hopper but what about kaladin? He was specifically told about other world any zahel and more interestingly had cognitive shadows explained to him. Or perhaps a better question why was kaladin made cosmere aware? Like what is the plot reason what role does it serve? A few reasons I can think of that this needed to happen. 1. so kaladin can understand how cognitive shadows work which was sorta relevant for fighting the pursuer. Then so he can later help ishar with his mental health. this is possible but idk seems kinda like there wouldn’t have also been a need to tell him about other worlds and have him fight a Dude from a different magic system. 2. He goes world hopping for some reason. But why would he do that? I think it would have to do with dalinars fate. so what will happen to dalinar at the end of the book we have a few options rn that seem clear. A. Dalinar is just fine on roshar as a mortal in this situation kaladin does not need to world hop B. dalinar ascends to honor i think dalinar may want to send someone out into the cosmere to maybe counte odium or explore or deal with other threats. Kaladin would be the ideal choice narratively. Presumably by the end of the 5th book kaladin will be 5th ideal quite possibly at the end of his character arc and I think not dead. On top of this kaladin is insanely op his combat feats are so insane that it’s almost counter productive to tension for him to be around, now he could take dalinars place in a leadership role or he could die or he could become a therapist but none of those work, since rn nothing prevents dalinar from leading since he doesn’t seem likely to straight up die, I don’t think he will die and even if he isn’t a soldier anymore he loves the fight far too much to just become a therapist full time. But generally because of kaladins high power level and drive to protect and the fact he likely won’t sit on the sidelines in most likely situations I think he woudl leave in this scenario as dalinars representative/ envoy. C. dalinar becomes a fused In this situation I think dalinar forces kaladin to swear to stop him when he becomes a fused and basically kaladin goes around the cosmere following dalinar being kinda like hoid and making sure dalinar is defeated every time odium tries to use him to screw stuff up. I know a lot of people have been wanting kaladin to maybe become a professional counselor but I think as a lot of people point out to him in the book he can’t give up the fight he loves it too much he just can’t take the stress of war and the battlefield anymore. he has also been talked to by hoid more than any other character we have seen (excluding jasnah but i mean as in like compelled to show up there to help out) which I think Indicates his importance. Honestly it would be kinda awesome if kaladin and syl go around the cosmere like in these theories and basically act like a second hoid Show up and talk to people about their problems then like drive dalinar off or do what honor needs done then leave. Plus he has the flute so maybe. also kaladin is hands down the most naturally skilled person in the cosmere when it comes to combat
  25. I think it would spend on the size and investiture I think a windrunner pulling investiture straight from the spiritual realm may be able to create small black holes, likely they would quickly fall apart from Hawking radiation but I think it would be possible, not sure about the usefulness of this though even if they can create larger ones it’s gonna take you out too so I don’t think it would help in a fight.
