  1. The first 2-3 movies are all right, 4-6 (haven't seen 7 and 8) are basically just a frantically paced highlight reel of the books.
  2. No, actually, but thanks. I've stayed away because I've heard it's a little more mature than his other stuff. I perfectly confident I can handle it, but I had planned when starting the Cosmere novels to read it a little after, and now I'm in the midst of the Hercule Poirot mysteries, so it might be a while.
  3. Any part with Jesus in it is pretty good. I do like the part where Nathanael is like "How do you know me?" and Jesus is like "Ah, I saw you sitting under that fig tree" and Nathanael is like "Whoa you must be the Son of God!"
  4. Okay, that is... both disappointing and reassuring at the same time.
  5. I once heard someone say on the phone to somebody else "I'll be there in 10-15-20-25-30 minutes"
  6. Thank you! I was actually just thinking a moment ago about how I like yours too.
  7. I'm not reading any of them. 'Cause then I never know what to do with the beginning 5 chapters or whatever when I get the actual book. Do I re-read it? Or skip?
  8. I've never read Warbreaker, but I've read all the other novels. So it can't matter too much.
  9. Personally, I've always hated the idea of annoyance flirting. Tbh I'm kind of a lowkey mixture of the second two dudes. I mean, not that I have much experience. Nor would I really call it flirting, more... charming sincerity? The other day I was almost debate partners with the girl I like but then my buddy suggested an (admittedly more evenly-matched) setup where I got the slacker dude of the class instead, so that was somewhat disappointing. Anyway, that's all irrelevant. It might be worth considering taking his stuff once in a while. Y'know, to keep him on his toes.
  10. Because... they're good. And I want them all.
  11. Hmm. Let us take these one at a time. I'd rather not be able to read another Sanderson book again if it meant that I could read other books. My favorite Sanderson book - Hmm. That's really hard. Probably one of the WoT ones. But Elantris and really any of the Stormlight Archive are strong contenders as well. Favorite non-Sanderson book - Yikes. No idea. The Bible? Is that cheating? Favorite subject in school - Either literature or debate. Yes to both.
  12. Scene I like from Oathbringer. Translated to Arabic ... then Somali ... then Slovak ... then English ... and ...
  13. Out of curiosity, do you prefer any particular style? A big hint as to the first guy is whether he does annoying stuff to anybody else.
  14. OK, one of my favorite scenes from The Gathering Storm: Translated to Russian ... then Zulu ... then Icelandic ... then Persian ... then back to English.. et voila: Oh, this is so glorious. So much better.
  15. Brilliant! This is why the internet exists.
  16. This is all absolute gold. Here, let me try some of the Mad Prince deleted scene from Elantris. Translated to ... I dunno, Kazakh I guess... translated back to English... and: Please don't do it foolishly.
  17. I went and saw it the other day. Absolutely unrelenting thrills. Pretty awesome. I prefer Inception and Interstellar, but those are my all-time favorite movies (along with the LOTR trilogy), so that doesn't mean much. Pretty hard to pick between it and Dunkirk. Also, it was utterly mind-boggling. I really need to watch it again. I'd love to see a theory as to how it connects to Inception, 'cause didn't JDW say it sorta did?
  18. Oh, the Let It Go karaoke by all means.
  19. Root beer is the best! Cream soda is pretty close though.
  20. Sorry, been a while since I've been on, so I'm getting to this a bit late. Favorite team is the Seattle Sounders, from the MLS. Favorite Prem team is Manchester United.
  21. Personally, I think Asher sounds cooler than Vasher. But that might just be because that's my name.
  22. I'm in biology right now. Kinda disliking it, thought it would be more animals and less proteins/atoms/chemicals. We learn about biomes next week, though, so that might be cool.
  23. I play and watch soccer, so I figured I'd start a club for anyone else who does either (or both) of those things. So... yeah. Mission accomplished, I guess.
