  1. ... And I don't believe I need to add more. Probably shouldn't have posted now. TPBM is either TPAM or the person above him.
  2. "Well, I do not know dragons, but I know my share of realmatics. I believe I'd notice weird things in that respect." Sef shakes his head when he hears the man's low opinion on prophecies. "Prophecies hold much information about the future, and it only takes some thought and consideration to understand it. They might be cryptic, but that exactly gives them more meaning, packing many ideas into small amount of words."
  3. "I am but a man, who thinks believing anyone who claims that the world is ending and that he is our savior is foolish. Anyone can claim so. Do you have proof to the fact that the world ends? If not, why should I believe you? Knowledge is free anyway, so I won't stop you from using the library." "We do have one or two of these in the library." replied Sef. "Master Feldspar collected many things, and that includes prophecy books."
  4. Sef shot a sharp look at the man. "You are good at avoiding questions, aren't you?" he asked. "It doesn't matter to the question whether the world is ending or going to end. I asked how did you know that. Semantics are important, but are not an answer."
  5. I think something like that was written once, and my answer will remain always no, since I've never left my own country. TPBM's time zone is UTC-8.
  6. Sef went inside with Valzwyn and the man accompanying her. "How do you know that the world is going to end?" he asks the man. "If you need something from the library I'll gladly help. I remember the exact location of every book."
  7. No fancy hats, but hats can be cool. TPBM likes to figure out other sharders' location based on time zones. (Did it once or twice.)
  8. @Cosmical Existence, @King Aragorn of Gondor, @Matrim's Dice?
  9. Sef started to reply, but when he heard the lady replying, he stopped, tilting his head. "Did you mean your friends, or the others mentioned in the will? If the latter, you are probably right, though I've already sent for them."
  10. Sef handed Valzwyn the will. "Here."
  11. "On the bright side, these people don't seem to interested in books. On the other hand, they claim that Feldspar's property was abandoned at his death, and so they try to sell it." He shook his head. "I tried to stop them. It could be worse, though. You can track things that are bought, but if looters would've came in an unorganized way most of the things would've been lost forever. At least this ones sell everything around here."
  12. Sef blinked. "Of course I'm still here." he said. "My job is to keep the books in the library, and though Feldspar is dead the books still need to be kept. And so, I'm still here. I believe at least some of them go to you, though many stay here, under my watch." Sef turned to the lady. "I'm Sef, Feldsper's Tower's librarian, at your service."
  13. Never say never. Sadly, we didn't have any snow this year. But we still have a month and a half of winter, so maybe we'll have! TPBM doesn't like snow.
  14. So, I have been mentioned here! Congratulations, Knight, for reaching over 1000 posts. I will join Salad and say it is, indeed, fun RPing with you (I enjoyed the Worldbuilding part more, but I guess it's just me being me). Are the other Knights of Metal only of the Allomantic metals, or of every metal in the periodic table? And do they hate you so much only because you are the ruler right now? Never stop asking questions!
  15. Sef suddenly jumped out of the tower's door, hopping toward Valzwyn's group, saying: "Mis Valzwyn! Thank goodness that you came. I sent for the Elven Law Enforcement but they didn't come yet, and neither have the other inheritors, and without them these people refuse to acknowledge the will. I persume you got my letter?" Gal tried to arrange his notebooks back when he saw the hopping man arrive. He concluded it probably was his cousin that worked in Feldspar's library, based on his weird way of walking. He made a note to try and talk to him later, then returned to his notebooks.
  16. Sorry for not answering, I hoped I could get to write a story for this magic system for my 343rd post, which didn't exactly work out. Anyway, as I said in my previous post here, I kind of work based on an existing system, which I'm not sure I want to write much about here. The idea (or at least part of it) is to make a separation between negation and opposition. Thought and Intuition was in my head for some time, Longing and Fear came from the aforementioned existing system, and Freedom versus Stubbornness wasn't my brightest idea, but made some sort of sense, in a way, though Duty fits in my head better than Stubbornness as Freedom's opposite. Hope it helped!
  17. Gal went down the hill after Valzwyn, and seeing that everyone are about to start fighting he stopped. He won't be of any use in such situations. He blinked when Minuet made her declaration, pulling his notebook out of his bag and scribbled something there. When he saw Valzwyn using her fumes to attack he began flipping the pages in the notebook and writing something there. He considered and, seeing that Minuet seemed to do well, he tried a small Planting on Valzwyn - better thinking would probably help her. He then considered trying to run to the tower, but decided against it, since there were many people between where he was and it. He was surprised to see a girl on a horse - not the annoying girl, he noted, as this one was near the Ideal-shadow girl - running for it. He proceeded to look around at the merchandise, relived to see no books among it. He then sat quietly, Trying to focus on is notebook while Planting. Sef Owlson, the librarian of Feldspar's Tower, looked up from his book and out of the window. He thought he heard shouts from outside. He saw someone Fumeweaving, and, Cultivating a bit to make his sight better, he recognized young Ms. Valzwyn out there. He immediately rose up from his chair, took Feldspar's will from the table he left it on, and run out of the library and the tower, walking in a weird, birdlike-hopping way.
  18. No, I'm the jerk Trutharchivist. TPBM will use the acronym TPBM. Edit: to clarify, it's not all too important to me. And I'm a jerk only because I decided to enter in the middle. Sorry for that.
  19. It's a little childish of me, but I'm trying to preserve my 343rd post for my story, so I'll comment on what you said on the Renarin's name thread here - and I'll tag @Kingsdaughter613, so that she'll see it, too. I'll tag you - @Ixthos - just in case, because I'm not sure you'll be notified otherwise.

You're welcome to invite more people to the PM. There are some who expressed their will to join in Discord (on the Socially Awkward Bookworms server) including @Tesh, @revelryintheart and @FriarFritz, and I intended to ask you if you agree to more people joining.

About the things Kingsdaughter wrote - most are from Midrash, though this is a very general term referring many books, which sometimes include Zohar.

Great! :-) Thanks, I'm more than happy for them to join in also, though I might take longer than usual to reply. I hope this is a blessing to everyone involved!

I probably should give up on my childish inclinations, because I have things to add to the conversation on Renarin's name, but I'm nothing if not stupidly stubborn, so... I guess I'll have to write my story quickly.

Take your time - G-d willing the topic will still be there when you are done :-) (provided we all stay nice to one another!)

Also, I'm posting a topic as a poll in a few minutes there also. If you could vote in the poll that would be great :-)

  20. Yes. Just... yes. Only one problem... I've already finished RoW. TPBM already started a second reading of RoW.
  21. Sorry, no. I have weird and irrational eating standards, which unfortunately don't include Kugel. TPBM is a Jew, and likes Seudah shlishit (@Kingsdaughter613, it's also directed to you even if you aren't below me). If not, then said PBM thinks we should stop making religion-exclusive TPBMs (including Christian ones).
  22. Theoretically yes. I'll never really understand why you think I've put a lot of thought into it - to tell you the truth, I kind of work with an existing system I took from somewhere that splits human cognition to ten parts. This is my personal ideas of it, of course, which don't necessarily correspond with the original system, but still. And it's not really always that hard to come out with powers, especially after I've started. I mean, my idea for rabbits was as some sort of opposite to owls - owls are a little Consideration, while rabbits are Impulsiveness. This might be a good time to explain who's opposing who. The idea was (theoretically) to have two opposites and one middle. It didn't work out too well, and I still need to work on it, but this is, generally, how it's supposed to work: Owls - Rabbits Some middle thing - Inspiration Center? Probably some kind of a bird. Wolves - Hyenas Foxes as a middle - still in need to work out a little. Cats - Bears (though maybe bears should have Duty instead of Stubbornness as a Center.) Bees as a middle - I actually don't have any working middle, this is as good an example as any. Snakes as standalones - they really need more thoughts about their powers. My next post is my 343rd post, which is very important (can you guess why?), and I plan to make for it a story (or a beginning of one) with this magic system. I'm not sure yet if I'll do adjustments to the magic system before - the general rules will stay anyway. Maybe there'll be some small additions and changes in specific Centers and powers. Anyway, I'll write here my idea for the Inspiration (or Creativity) Center, because my next post is supposed to be the story. First, this idea was inspired by the book Deep Secret by Diana Wynne Jones, which I recommend reading. And now, for the actual powers! Harvesting this Center will make the patient less creative, without moments of everything connecting and advancing. I'm not sure if I can understand and explain it. You probably had moments of inspiration or creativity - imagine not having them, or having them to a lesser extent. Planting will make inspiration dawn on the patient, ranging from a small idea, a little flash of inspiration, to a giant understanding of interconnections - seeing a full picture in your mind's eye. And assuming this made sense, I need to think of a Cultivation! Now, I could choose the easy path and base it on things from DS, or I could really think, for a change. So, being lazy, I'll just go with the first option, though I'll expand it a bit. So, the Cultivation of this Center will make items around the user grow and expand, even if they never lived. It can make a stone grow, whether it'd be in specific directions or generally, though specifying takes more Harvest, as usual. It could make some fascinating statues - which will probably be a thing, because of their Fertilization. They can open interdimensional portals by making a universe grow towards another. I'm still unsure whether or not they're able to close said portals, but this is a general problem - a wolf won't be able to close a portal he created, since there's no longing in pulling apart. This Center's Fertilization will make the creatures centred around this creative, and... well, I'm not sure I know how to explain that. Imaginative? Like interconnections? If you think you have an idea do tell me. Anyway, I'll now proceed to try and write a story with this magic system. Wish me luck! PS, it might be only the beginning of a story. We'll see.
  23. I've read and liked Beyonders, though Jason's complete lack of curiosity (as I saw it) really annoyed me. From Fablehaven I've read only the first two books, and since I have a fobia of mind-control, I disliked the second book.
  24. Gal arrived a little after everybody, but he heard Valzwyn say the tower was her home. A few connections were quickly made. "So, this is... your Master's tower?" he avoided mentioning Feldspar's name after the... incident yesterday. He looked around. So many people. He hoped his cousin succeeded in taking the books out - it won't do to let just anyone take them.
