Martin waits behind, frowning. His skin is crawling - this doesn't feel right, just walking up.

I imagine we did. Mine isn't, which means the teachers will know if it comes. If it comes, I'm just gonna have it unopened on my desk until school is over, or I will start reading. When you don't actually sleep, you just kinda... doze and dream that you saw spoilers.

When you have very explicitly stated what your family is to do if ROW comes while you're in school.

"Get Daolan and get out," Martin says, setting the words neatly into his mind as the mission parameters begin to settle into place. "Got it."

I completely agree, I really enjoyed Wax and Wayne's dynamic, and I also want to be best friends with Kaladin.

"Right..." He says skeptically. He probably shouldn't be doubting this, after what he's seen the last few days, but the skeptic is hard to dismiss.

Martin raises an eyebrow. "That's not much of a plan."

Welcome to the Shard! Who is your favorite Cosmere character?

The Chronicles of Narnia and The Boxcar Children were some of my favorites. And I learned to read from Little House on the Prairie, so that will forever have a very special place in my heart.

"I can scout from a distance, maybe clear a path for you to get in," Martin offers. That doesn't seem like it'll start triggering anything. "I... ah, don't misunderstand me, but do we have a scram plan for if it goes wrong?" If it comes down to that, he'll... do what he has to. Out of all of them, he's likely the best to go that route. And better they know what he's capable of now then think he's a... nice person.

What kind of cookies?

This question has probably been posed before, but will the copies from B&N come on the 17th? (I preordered the signed copy.) Mine has shipped, but I don't know if it will show up tomorrow, or later in the week... were the copies sent to bookstores and then the stores send them to houses? I'm so freakin' excited. My writing brain is screaming because I want to study the plot twists and character beats and all that, my artist brain is screaming because a r t , my reading brain is screaming because I love Stormlight, and my fangirl brain is screaming because... well, you get the point.

Do I, on episode 9 of The Mighty Nein campaign, have any hope of catching up? What are your pastry recommendations? Do you like cookies or pudding more?

Martin stamps his feet, rubbing his hands together, as the skin on his arms pulls painfully. "Are we ready to go?" No armor, his mind supplies, light weaponry, at least for me. No comms, definitely no scanning, possible metal sense, but that's for the future.

Martin comes back, a bag slung over his shoulder and wearing a different shirt, the one he was wearing previously tied over his shoulders like a cloak. The looser sleeves of the new shirt show the bandages wrapped around his arms. "We ready?" He asks.

Martin looks away, firmly repressing the memories fighting to come to the forefront of his thoughts. Reese isn't here, and wishing she was because he's confused and tired and kind of really wants a hug will not help. "I'll be back in a few minutes," he says, and goes off to find the quartermaster.

"Where is the quartermaster, then?"

"Thank you for allowing me to come," Martin says, rubbing at his arms. "Do you have anything you need me to do now, or should I wait?"

"May I come?" Martin asks. "I'm a good scout." And spy, a voice whispers in the back of his mind, before he tamps it down. "I've dealt with situations like this before."
