  1. Well, if I remember correctly, Preservation took 16 because he needed a way to signal the humans of Scadrial, and why not use the cosmere-wide number? But as to whether all the Shards have numbers, I'm inclined to think yes. I think Endowment's might be five.
  2. "I'm going to guess that I won't be much help for this," Martin says. "I can be stealthy, but... more often than not... it gets... loud." That describes it well enough. Messy is probably a better word, but he doesn't want the looks that come with that word.
  3. @Experience in The Fellowship of the Thing (I'm bored. Let's Mess Around!)
  4. "Something happened," Martin contributes. "Not sure what. I kind of... lost something." There's got to be something he can do. How much of an idiot is he, losing track of a negotiation like that?
  5. Something is familiar. Too familiar, maybe. It's tugging at his thoughts, trying to get in. What is it? As he follows Herate out, he hears something, but not enough. "This night." He can work with that - no. That's not who he is anymore.
  6. This is gorgeous.
  7. "Yes ma'am," Martin says, forcing the words around the knot in his throat. Something is needling at the edge of his brain, and he doesn't know what.
  8. I wrote a ketek - my first - in honor of Teft. It's not very good, but I'd like to share it. Windrunner of honor, his strength remembered. Remember his strength, honor the runner of winds.
  9. I don't know, really.
  10. Considering that there's a lot of unknowns on Hesina's side of the family, and the thing in OB where he kills that spren, which we still don't really have an explanation for, and the stormfather calling him 'Son of Tanavast', there's certainly ground for that. After all, just because Tanavast shows up as a human, doesn't mean he is one. Theory: Kelsier has an Aviar friend.
  11. I loved this scene, it just felt so peaceful, and sad. She finally got to see the world...
  12. I drew a thing. If anyone else has also drawn a thing, feel free to post it here! For context, I drew the moment when Kaladin kills the Pursuer with Lashings.
  13. What is bread but the fruit of hours of labor and yeast?
  14. Very important to meals that involve bread.
  15. Do we have the translations for Navani's notebook yet?
  16. Completely random, do not take this seriously: Sixteen is Szeth's father.
  17. Farewell, Sergeant. May honor go with you.
  18. Your notes on Taravangian becoming Odium are almost exactly what mine are. It seems to inspire similar emotions. I even had a note from part two that was literally: Let Nightblood eat Odium. I can't believe that was correct. I didn't cry about Kaladin, but that was because my tears were exhausted after Teft. I can't believe he's gone.
  19. That might be part of the 'Cosmere books are translated to English so words are the closest Earth equivalent', but you raise a valid point.
  20. I think it might go something like this: Part One: the buildup to the contest. Kaladin and Szeth do not get along. Part Two: The days before, of, and after the contest. Everyone is screwed. Rlain, Adolin, or Renarin are in quite a bit of death danger here. Part Three: Fallout of the contest, Kaladin and Szeth are forced to put aside their disagreements and work together to help people. The end of this is likely to have the darkest moment. Part Four: Counterstrike after the contest. The eleventh hour, in a way. If the darkest moment isn't at the end of Part Three, it'll be here. Part Five: Sanderlanche. No explanation needed.
